Made a slow-roasted leg of mutton, with roasted spiced baby new potatoes, parsnips, carrots, a bed of onions with the lamb and also some roasted shallots, and some fresh spinach leaves as a nod to good health :p also made a nice gravy from the lamb roasting tray :)

It was pretty good :D did take about 5 hours though, and an expensive piece of meat. Left-overs for tomorrow! :)

At the restaurant I used to work at, their potatoes were always roasted new potatoes (never any other form of potato) with various combinations on - paprika, garlic and mixed herb, garlic and rosemary, cumin etc :)

We're having garlic and rosemary roasted new potatoes tonight - just remembered to do the oil :)

Thinking about it, I might just have to learn how to do a roast for two weeks today, OH's last day at work before our holiday and his birthday..

Mine were cayenne, fresh red chili pepper, garlic and cumin. Turned out pretty well.

Roasts are incredibly easy really. They do taste nicer if you faff around preparing them in advance and getting the seasoning right etc. The only thing you can do really wrong is getting the timing/temp wrong, which the internet should be able to set you straight on anyway. Give it a go!

Sausage mash and onion gravy sounds lovely too, and a lot quicker to make :) I bet it was great!
