I dunno, I'm extremely jealous of all you losers atm :o Just feels like forever since i actually lost any weight at all. I know, I know over 3 stone in under a year is still pretty good. But still angry with myself for putting 10lbs back on.

Just can't seem to get the kick start that I need. Doing all the right things, even getting a wee bit more exercise. Just that damn vending machine at work. Guess it's time to start leaving my purse at home again.

    temptation is a killer

the hardest parts for me where always the garages with there range of crap snacks that taste oh so nice, then they became mini supermarkets full of pies and sandwiches, and one of them is a Marks ....

and then there's 3 drive through Kentucky's I pass, I like wise stopped taking cash, but then Kentuky started to accept cards !!! The !!!!!!!s ...

Towards the end of last year I was spending £6-£10 every night on crap (2k-3k cals a time) on my way home (90 min drive) and then having a large dinner ... No Idea why ...

    Typically I would get

    Cheese and Onion Pasty
    Chicken and Mushroom Pasty
Large Packet of Prawn Cocktail Crips
    Large Packet of Mini Cheddars
    Pint of Whole Milk

Thats a snack, If it was Tesco's you could add cheese straws and a box of snowballs .....

Very happy but now have to keep motivated and not get complacent. Have given up chocolate for Lent and am struggling but looking forward to buying myself an extra special Egg as a treat, but only if I stick to diet plan :easter_ba

In Spain, where I grew up, every year I go back and yes they have massive supermarkets now carrying products from all over the world but the friends I have none of them would ever touch any processed, ready meals, they make it all from scratch, some of them have their own land that they farm veg etc on, there is no way they would go out for a chinese because they say 'they don't know what is in it' all foods are fresh:D and they taste the best, my friends mums chicken noodle soup made with the carcass is the best there is:D

My OH was brought up in France and his family are exactly the same. I would love to be like that too - pity butchers etc don't open til late. I think that's one of the reasons that Mediterranean people are so healthy - everything is fresh and cooked from scratch.

Vix - people with a high body fat % can still fall into the 'healthy' BMI range, similarly muscular people with little fat (rugby players et al) can be 'obese' according to BMI scale. People in these groups are better off using body fat % as an indicator and ignoring BMI.

All body fat measurement methods have a degree of inaccuracy. Bioelectrical impedence (which is the one used by scales) is said to be accurate within 2-5%, they tend to overestimate body fat in lean muscular people and underestimate it by the same amount in overweight people. So the reading shouldn't normally be way off, unless the scales are faulty of course.

Make sure your body is well-hydrated when having the measurement as dehydration can cause a higher body fat % reading (skin temperature can affect it too). For home analyser scales it's usually recommended to take a reading with wet or damp feet to assist the current - guessing this is not the case in Boots though!?

Haha, i can imagine doing in with wet feet! My legs are my fattest area, they are probably a good 50% fat, its where all of my fat store goes. Perhaps the man in the scales could only see my legs and therefore gave me such a high percentage! Would apples/pears make a difference to the outcome? Or am i looking for a way out of the high percentage!!

I got 2 bikini bottoms for £1 from debenhams, tried on the bikini and oh do I look awful, I am fed up with my caved in face and the fact I have loose skin around the stomach so in a bikini I look awful, was going to go back to all in one but no that is only going backwards, the £1 spent has upset me:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::D

I find an all in one attractive if you get the right looking thing! Im going for an all in one this year with the other 10000000000000000 bikinis i have that i hardly wear! Wear them with pride, you've had kids, you've lived a life. Most people are so worried about themselves anyway, and if all theyre concerned about is your wobbly stomach then what a sad life they lead.

    Hello gang,

Some very interesting points being made here today. I think that whatever way of eating healthily you can find, that you can enjoy, and not find limiting is the one that will bring you long-term contentment, and a stable weight. I find it easy to cut out certain foods for a limited amount of time, and then only have them as a treat option, rather than consider them a regular part of my diet. So, for me to give up cake, desserts, chocolate, sweets, is very do-able. I don't drink alcohol, or have sugary/fizzy drinks, so I'm more than happy with my cups of tea. A treat for me would be the occasional smoothie, or skinny cappuccino. However, I know that my achillies heel is bread, and bread-based products. Put me in a bakery dept. and I'm a happy girl. That's where I can really do calorie damage, so I understand that I have to stay in control if I have it.

As a child growing up, and having somewhat older parents than my contemporaries, I was raised with the principal of eating everything on your plate (or it was your next meal as well), and I think that rationing definitely meant that my parents had a joy from food that previously hadn't been there. I have had to re-train myself as an adult that it is fine to leave food, if I'm feeling satisfied. It is very hard to see food going to waste though, when money isn't easy to come by, although we were also masters of the left-over meal. I still am, although the rest of the family will hardly ever consider eating them.

I know that food is as much a means of emotional support, as it is physical nourishment sometimes, but I am trying to change that.

Eric, well done with your loss this week. I love the 'flap' clip. Cross that bridge when/if you come to it. With exercise who knows how much will snap back? I know someone who had a tummy tuck, and it's a much bigger op than even she had imagined. She has her own business, and ended up having to take 3 months off to recover, due to minor complications afterwards.

Granny - brilliant result, that's more than half of your 10 meal gain!

And, the results for Planet Sary this week are STS. I'll take that as it's TOTM, and hope it bodes well for next week. I can't tell you how restrained I have been this time around, despite craving chocolate and sweet things.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home
