    Hello all :)

I've been following this thread for a while now and finally thought it was time to post myself. It was my new years resolution to "lose weight and get healthy", but due to there being so many birthdays in January, including my own, and all those sweeties and chocs leftover from Christmas, I decided not to start until February! :p

I've just turned 20 and I'm 5'7. I ended up starting on the 28th of Jan when I was 12st 3lbs. I weigh and measure myself every Monday, and I keep track of it using FoodFocus.
I've completely cut out junk food, chocolate, crisps, sweets, fizzy drinks.. If I want a treat/snack, I have fruit or a yoghurt. Stocked up on tinned and fresh veg, and also extra lean mince beef, chicken breasts and white fish.
I also find the Heinz Weight Watchers frozen food range to be really yummy, and 5 for £5 in Asda atm!
My sister gave me her exercise bike that's been gathering dust in her spare room for a while, so that's been a great help. I bought some weights too, so I can start trying to tone up!
I've been using FoodFocus as a guide for my target cals, which is currently 1117 cals a day for a loss of 2lbs a week. I didn't think the exercise I was doing was burning much until I lost 7lbs in a week  so I'm trying to balance the combination of exercise & calorie intake so that I'm losing weight at a steadier pace.

I'm attending two weddings this year, so I'm using that as my motivation to keep on track- the first is in April and I know it'll be here in no time, aha.

I also found this when I was starting out and I find it's a complete inspiration- http://weight-loss.fitness.com/before-after-between/36490-mar-08-96kgs-212lbs-june-09-85kgs-188lbs-oct-09-63kgs-139lbs.html
I just keeping going back to look at it and it's just amazing. If you scroll down to the replies, she's posted some more photos and also information about her eating habits and exercise regimes.

Anyway, as of yesterday I weigh 10st 13lbs, which is a total loss of 1st 4lbs, and I've lost 5 inches from my waist. I've set a target weight of 9st 6lbs, but in all honesty, I've never been slim so I might be happy with my weight before I even reach that :)

Sorry for the long post, but I will be trying to post regularly on here! :p

    wow gratz

and trust me you look perfect in your after pics :A

dont go to mad, its unhealthy for a girl to have a low % body fat 15-25% is fine

too easy to go the other way (my sister did this) and end up a sickly freak like victoria beckham

Aha, that's not me in the pics! :o I just find her weight loss really inspirational. Makes me feel like, if she can do it, so can I :)

But if I'm honest, I do think she looked much healthier before she reached her target goal!

stick around here, the guys n gals are very good at helping and boosting morale even if one or two of them lets say a bit eccentric :D

90% of weight loss comes from within, if your unhappy, not focussed or in the deepest parts of your mind dont really want to do it you will fail, and we have all been there i guess with the old yo yo dieting ....

I tink that woman went a tad too far. I think she looks a cross between 20 odd and 40 odd, cant quite tell if she turned around if it would an older woman or younger if you get me! (in ref to the last pic) To me being curvy and sexy is a must, no point looking like a twiglet. Maybe because i havent got much boobage i have to exentuate everywhere else? im not sure, but as much as i moan about my hips they do give me a curvy shape which i would absolutly hate if i didnt have. Welcome natu, 9 stone 6 is quite a low target for someone of your height isnt it? Just thinking, im 5'3 and weigh 10 stone give or take, if i was 4 inches taller i think my build would be pretty awesome. Trouble is god made me this size so theres more fat to stick out, although sadly not in the boob area.

Play.com are having a sale so i bought a belly dance workout dvd for a fiver! Im really excited about it!

I do think she took it a bit too far, but I think before she reached her target, when she was about 139lbs, she looked great and really happy.

Well, at 9st 6lbs, my BMI would be 20.7 which is within the healthy weight range, but as I said, I've never been slim, so I may find I'm quite happy with my weight before I reach that target :)

I'm avoiding Play.com atm! I'll end up buying tonnes of DVDs, and I really can't afford to right now aha!

i remember when i looked up my ideal weight and it was 8 stone odd! That will never happen in my life, i sometimes wonder if where i am now is my right weight because i never seem to lose or gain, apart from i think ive gained a little bit through major over eating like never before. I'd love to be a bit more toned though, and have better looking legs, but i think being pear shaped i would have to be sooo dedicated and strict with myself to achieve something good.

You do sound like your slim now! I feel slim when i look at myself sideways haha.

I'm the lightest I've been since secondry school, but I'm definitely not slim! :rotfl:
I still have a couple spare tyres, bingo wings and big thighs! But hopefully I'll get those areas nice and toned :)

I am starting to like how I look when I see myself sideways though, teehee.

Eric, do you have a source for this at all? I was of the understanding that sub 21-24% (depending on age) would generally be classed as underfat for females. This is the chart I usually refer to:

So, I'm back again! After half a year! I'm so useless at keeping promises.

The last time I was here, I was 140lbs and hoping to lose 20lbs - now I'm 150lbs and hoping to lose 30!

    So, hi guys, again!
My name's Jenny, and I weigh 150lbs at this very moment in time. I'd like to get down to 125ish at least, preferably 120.

My goal is to lose 15lbs by May, and another 15 by August.
Undergrad law student. Take my advice with a pinch of salt! :rotfl:
