It wouldn't hurt a huge retailer like M&S to schedule special priority slots for elderly and disabled people in situations like this.
Unfortunately the old days of M&S standing out from the other big boys and upholding their reputation of quality and standards has now gone.
I found this out the other day when I went in to buy one of those half price Xmas cakes and also picked up a few other food items whilst I was there.
When I came to pay the checkout lady tried to charge me 9p for a bag, and when I asked which bags were free she tutted and threw something the size of a sandwich bag at me which none of my items fitted in.
The crazy thing is that the "9p" bags are the ones your items are put in free of charge if you pay at a non food checkout.

For over a year now they have been charging for bags in the foodhall so its not like they were singling you out!

I didn't think they were singling me out, but that doesn't make it alright either :)

But bags generally in most places are no longer free, and tbh it doesnt hurt to take a couple of carrier bags with you. I have now aquired a lovely collection of bags for when I go to the shops.
As for having different priority for disabled people is all fine, but its hardly fair on able bodied people is it? My mum is disabled and she would be mortified if she was treated any different.

Its irritating when I am waiting on the bus with my baby in his pram and someone in a wheelchair comes to the bus stop expecting to get on the bus before me, just because he is in a wheelchair.
Well im sorry but IMO first there gets on first.

Got mine for the Merry Hill store think Its for 5-7pm which would fit in after work but doubt Il go. Dont fancy the pushing and shoving after work!

Wonder how they keep everyone out - is it held in a closed off area of the store? Am guessing these events are very crowded?

Just checked mine and its for the 11th Nov - am out straight from work on the Tues night before and then working 8am - 9pm the next day the Thu so will give this a miss but will be interested to see what people buy and how it goes on the day.

I'm wondering if everyone's been sent invites for the store they signed up to the credit card in  just a thought.

Not for me , I signed up in Warrington and for invite for Llandudno, got my 5p ready to go .

Definitely not , my invite is for the biggest store nearest my current address. I signed up for my card over 12 years ago about 200 miles away where I used to live! Bit of a long trek if they had told me to go there!!!

Got mine with reward vouchers - warrington gemini 11th nov 7-9pm you will have to take voucher with you to get in the bazar? similar to when they do the free nibbles evening got 12.5% off voucher as well - hope it wont be 2 mad - didnt go to last penny bazar as queue far too long - dont know why they cant just offer one item per customer buying something at the till for 1p - so if you went in an bought a pair of socks you would be offered the opportunity at the till to buy one of the bazar items for 1p - would hopefully save all the madness?

... But you can fold your pram, generally people in wheelchairs who want to get on a bus are unable to get out of their chair, also the space where people put their buggies is actually designed as a wheelchair space, it just happens to be convenient to put a pram there too.

Like your mum, I also have a disability and I would also hate to be a victim of positively discrimination but my disability is 'hidden' for now so I often have glares and snide comments when I use a disabled toilet or don't offer my seat to someone who looks like they need it more; it is possible that my condition may leave me in a wheelchair and if this happens I would be mortified to feel I couldn't have my independence simply because there wasn't room for me on the bus. I wouldn't ever expect to get on first (although it does make it much safer and easier) but I would expect to be able to use my designated space, unless the bus was already full.

Yes because I can put my baby on the floor while I fold down his massive pram that would not fit in the luggage rack seeing as it is a newborn pram.

My mums disability is also hidden, so she gets the same problems so much so that she refuses to park in disabled bays even though she has a pass.

(I hope your disability doesn't get to the stage of a wheelchair)

why is it that people with disabilities complain about being discriminated against but want special priory over things like this i know that its harder for people in wheelchairs to access places when theres a sale and i dont condone the bullying people that barge there way in but just cas you have a disability it shouldn't mean you go/get first dips i to use buses and have a buggie and its hard trying to get on a bus and put the buggie down when you have a child and shoping to contend with i avoid going on a bus as much as pos
