Went to my local store just after 0900hrs, waited in a queue for 20 mins, got socks, chocs, pants, xmas sock and mug. Went back ast 1020hrs and got socks, key ring, chocs, ladies pants, and another mug. Can't complain; especially as I paid 70 pence for parking at a local Sainsburys store and got back £1-40 after shopping there; so in effect the council paid for my donations to charity at M&S. However, please note that I did give generously at M&S and so I do not have a gulity conscious.0

I was amazed at my local M&S how many people tried to put extra items in their bag when the lady handing out the bags made it very clear it was five items only. Some had over ten items when they were being checked. Also so many people were only donating the required 5p! Come on people credit crunch or not surely you can spare a couple of quid for charity!0

The Yeovil store was very well organised and there was only a short wait of a minute or two at around 10.30am. Our charity was the Somerset & Dorset Air Ambulance and I hope people gave generously! I got the men's socks, choccies, hanky, men's tie and the children's puzzle.
One thing I must say is that some people of pensioner age are ill-mannered when in the presence of a bargain. Pushing & brushing by without apology- one of them even almost kicked my walking stick out from under me and only muttered when I said "please be careful"!!0 -
Went to my local Hounslow Outlet branch with my sister. Arrived at 9am and we were allocated raffle tickets. This was so anybody couldn't just walk in. The queue was already huge and we were 140 + 143! The staff bought biscuits out for everyone to eat and they were pleasant. A lady stood at the front showing what items were available and the opportunity to donate. They were only letting 3 people in at a time as they had set 3 tables up with items.
I was given the red bag with 2 satsumas and an food order book. No discount coupon book. I was then directed to a lady who asked for my ticket and bag. She told me I was to pick between the chocolate box or the Yule log and then point to 4 items I wished to have.
I selected Money tin, Notebook, Teatowel, Chocolate box and Trolley coin. Very pleased.
I've never been to one of these events before and it was handled very well.0 -
I went to 2 branches and neither had ladies socks or knickers. But very happy with what I did get...
Mens socks for OH
Mens tie for friends birthday
2 hankies for me
2 notebooks for me
2 teatowels for me
2 boxes of chocolate0 -
I was walking past my local store at 8.30 on my way to work thinking it opened at 9am so didn't bother joining the large queue. Anyway just as I was going past the door they opened it, so I swiftly joined the queue! I was waiting around 10 mins and they had everything there so chose 5 items which I was really pleased with and will do for stocking fillers! Our bazaar finished at 10:30am but I saw plenty of people (nearly everyone!) walking round with a bag full. Well organised and lots to choose from, well done Marks and Sparks!!0

Ours was very well organised too - they have a little corner they can cordon off, so everybody had to queue to get to that corner. There were 3 or 4 staff filling a bag for each person - so no shoving or grabbing. (which would have been bad where I live cos there are loads of pensioners!!!)
Collection was for the local hospice and they had some kind buckets with a special top so you can't see what other people had put in. Hope it wasn't all 5ps!
Weell done M&S - lovely items - I would probably have bought the Fifteis - themed things anyway for a quid or 2 each.0 -
My local store still had some of their stuff at 9pm last night so we managed to get some lovely things too.
I totally agree with how irritating it is that some people are digging around for pennies in their purse-it's for charity!!! Grrrr. But some people are taking this to the nth degree and really taking the mick. My hubby happens to work for M&S and on Thursday, after the VIP penny bazaar on Weds...
...PEOPLE CAME IN TO ASK FOR A 1P REFUND ON THEIR ITEMS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not just one person, but 3 or 4.
To those people...YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES!!
