Camberley M&S was well organised (once you found it!). Quite a queue and bags came with a free orange.
Chocs (for me) socks(for Hubby) notebook (for me!) Puzzle (for daughter) and teatowel (for mother in law).
And all for a small donation :-)
Loads left at 11am!I have a new claim to fameI spoke about the Olympics ticket fiasco on Martin's daybreak slot :money:

MK M&S was well organised. You joined a queue which looked longish but moved fairly quickly. You were handed a leaflet showing the items before you joined the queue so you could (in theory) decide what you wanted before you got to the tables. Once at the front of the queue you waited for a member of staff who said you could choose one of the food items and then 4 of the other items. As they had loads of the children's puzzles left you also got one of those automatically....handy, because I wanted 2 of them and didn't want the chocolates....so in the end I got....
Chocs, notebook, moneytin, card game, and 2 x puzzles.....notebook is for me, and the rest will be shared between the children in their stockings
I don't think any of the less able bodied customers would be disadvantaged by the way this was set up (except perhaps the size and style of the queueing system, but their were plenty of staff who, I'm sure, would have helped) and there was still plenty of items left.

Was in the Norwich store about 9.45 and only waited for about 3 minutes, queue was fairly short, about 15 in front I would say, but I passed about 11am later on, it was then out the door.
When I went they had part filled the bags and were offering 12 items, for a donation to Macmillan, so I gave more than the 12p as the items are worth it, plus all money was going to charity. They filled the bags for you with one of each item, so now on emptying it, I have received;
A Counting Puzzle, Cheeky Families card game, Tin money box, a tie, 4 satsumas, a mug, pack of 2 choc yule logs, pack of 16 mini xmas chocs, a tea towel, a Christmas stocking, a pair of socks, an A5 notebook, a keyring and a handkerchief - so actually that is 17 in total! (or 14 if you count the satsumas as 1).:T

Oh well, don't bother going into Manchester....
all they had left were
lovely ties (not even sure I could fob it off on my dad)
2 pack of chocolate yule logs
spotty hankies
and card games
so you ended up with 2 of something...should all be gone by now!0 -
I was really disappointed. Their newspaper advert said choose up to 5 items from a choice of hundreds. At Lewisham branch where I went, after waiting for a long queue I had already yule rolls and choc box inside the bag (which I didn't want) then the woman told me that I only had 3 more choices (not 5) men's socks didn't have the size I wanted so I got them smaller, I ask for nickers they didn't have size either (this was 15 minutes after they opened) so I asked for another pack of men's socks and I was told that I could ONLY choose ONE type of each item up to 3, I took a mug and a children's puzzle. As it was the first time I went, I took for granted that you would pay at a till and they will have some kind of bucket next to the till (even a lady from their staff told me yesterday that "when I get to the TILL they will ask me to choose 5 items") but there was no till. I had only 5 pounds in my pocket and when I asked for change I was told by their staff that they didn't have any change that if I wanted I could give what I had or they will take the bag from me . Felt really disappointed I think there must be a place where they are supposed to make clear that they don't handle change. Also a clearer message should be "choose 3 items from a choice of 14" not "5 from hundreds". Any similar experiences??0

Hi
I went to Milton Keynes this morning and got
3 x Satsumas, Chocs, Tea towel, Notebook, Mens socks and Mens Hankie. I put in alot more than 5p and the charity was for AirAmbulance for Berks, Oxon and Bucks. The queue was quite long but moved along nicely, the queueing system was fine, staff were very helpful and Mulled Wine was being handed out to those in the queue. I'm pleased as I've made a donation to a Charity and some some stocking fillers for a fraction of the true cost.

Camberley M&S. Got there just after opening, longish queue, but moving briskly. Got handed bag and.... clementine eugh, not satsuma. Then did not get to 'browse' as this woman insisted on standing just in front of me, like I couldn't reach for stuff myself
. So I kept looking over her shoulders at the goodies and picked a towel, men's socks, chocolates, xmas sock and the puzzle. They had no ladies stuff left, but the shelves were still groaning under the weight of stuff by the time I was all browsed out three hours later.
I just love the queuing :T:wall:0 -
Bury St Edmunds had run out of knickers by 9.20 (except for a rather fetching pair of size 18 granny pants). The tie was rubbish quality (although coudn't complain for a penny I suppose)
Other stuff was ok.
Didn't realise it was a charity thing till I was queuing, the workers gave out bags & leflets listing what was available and encouraged everyone to "give a generous donation" and after picking up the items they didn't ask for 5p payment like i expected, there were 2 people standing with charity buckets for you to donate.Wiggly:heartpulsFB0 -
i thinkt he 5p is the minimum suggested donation i think if you can give more you should ours was for the poppy appeal .. i gladly gave to all those who gave their lifes so i should live ..
