I went last time to the M & S in Plymouth. I got there at 9am and the queue was out the door. You are given a bag in the queue with a flyer showing what you could choose from - the list looked very impressive, with silk underwear, cufflinks etc. When I actually got the the front of the queue about 10 minutes later there were only cans of ginger beer and frisbies left! They said people had been queueing from 5am and the decent stuff went almost immediately. By 9.30am ALL of their stuff was gone and they had packed away the stall. I think they greatly underestimated the interest.0

Nor me:(
I knew about it (possibly had a leaflet in with my bonus vouchers) so went along especially to my local M&S Store but was told that it was by invite only and that not all cardholders had received an invite. I was told by a member of staff that cardholders were selected randomly and that half of the staff had not received an invite!
I was a bit fed up to say the least, especially considering I wouldn't get the discount off any shopping either. They are having another day for anyone to attend but the main draw for me was the discount.0 -
such a shame this on for one day only as I know the one is just going to be a nightmare as the que will be so long. but thet do look good stocking fillers !0

I've never been before so thought they'd ring the 5p up in the till and not be pressured (in effect! Don't get me wrong I didn't mind it going to charity) into giving to charity, so I can see why some only put 5p in. Now if they'd advertised it as a 'penny bazaar, only 5 items, you donate to charity what you think but over 5p please'......then they might get a bit more, I wasn't prepared for that and only had about 47p in change!Honorary Northern Bird bestowed by AnselmI'm a Board Guide and volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly on Special Occasions, Green/Ethical, Motoring/Overseas/UK Travel & Flood boards, it's not part of my role to deal with reportable posts. i went to the sheffield event last night i was inthe queue for about 25 minutes and there were a few wheelchair uses and buggies in the queue, the store had made the queuing section wide enough to allow access for all and issues with standing for long periods of time i would be cheeky and ask for a chair if you were going to be stood for a long time but the queue does move easily.
i got red santa stocking, chocs, notepad, tea towel and mug.More [STRIKE]knowledge[/STRIKE] stuff then sense

Hi :hello:
Sorry if this has already been asked, I've not had chance to read the whole thread yet... but do you have to be a card holder to be able to go to this??
I've not got a &more card but my Mum has so am thinking I might pinch hers to go if so.
Also, it says 5 items per person, do all the "persons" need a &more card too?
Thanks in advance,
N x0
