New fiesta zetec. Deal any good?

Nah I didnt get a SPP. Yeh I seen the Chassis number on the screen, its just that the vehicle wasnt finished in the plant until Tuesday.

I was quite lucky as after this car, the next available cars are only in a planned production, and wont be finished until 30th november, in which they couldnt gaurantee delivery in time for christmas.... Shame buying a ford fiesta isnt like buying a Sofa from DFS eh.

Gosh how are you guys managing to bring down the price. I got refered to this thread as I am also looking for a new firsta. Here is the deal I got without any negotiating
Ford fiesta style+ 5 door 1.25 petrol silver on ford option £11359
less scrappage and ford deposit of £450 and my deposit of £500
£8409.00 APR 4.9% and total amount paybale £10 047
24 Payments of £152
Optional Final Payment £5430

This was the first deal offered and just wondered what price I should aim for this model. Also how do you really negotiate with the dealer? I am going to see one tommorrow. I really would love the hot magenta or squeze colour but so far it seems the price will go up quite a bit. I have started shopping around for a zetec 1.4 tdci 3 door with metallic paint. The best price I've had from an online broker is 11,0064.21, I e-mailed several different garages last night asking them to beat the price, I have had 3 calls and 1 e-mail back today, best price out of 4 was £11,800, went to see them and they offered 2k part ex on my 04 clio and adjusted the price of the fiesta to £11,750 so total to pay would be £9750. Said I wouldn't be making a decision today and he also offered a free service "for an order today only", still left it as I'd like to save a bit more and I'm not falling for that old "for today only" line. I think I will e-mail a few more dealerships as I'm presuming the ones I haven't heard back from aren't interested - allen ford in nuneaton included!

One dealer advised me to go for a zetec instead because they are likely to hold value better than style + or edge as they are in demand...I am kind of believing now seeing most of the people here are going for zetec. What I just want is a fiesta with aircon to carry my kids around...I just dont like the studio as its too basic and they dont have the finance 4.9% deal. Thinking maybe I should go zetec, arrrggggggggggg the confusion continues

Hmm, I wouldnt go for a Style +. That doesnt have much more than the Studio. You want to be saying to your dealer that you want to be paying near that much for a Zetec Sherry, not a Style +.

I think they may get more commission on Ford Options, as the sales guy was trying to sway me towards that.

Think of it as this.... I got a Titanium for just over £11800 with metallic paint and bluetooth, 5 door aswell. Thats only £400 over what you have been quoted for a Style +.

I would be aiming for about 9k for the Style +. Where are you buying from? Are you buying in the Midlands?

I did consider the edge as well as it had everything I want really but I quite fancied the zetec as it's slightly nicer looking and I thought it might keep value slightly better.

Had a quick look on drivethedeal.com and their best price for 1.25 5 door zetec with pearlescent paint is £10,549.80.

BTW, according to my fiesta brochure the edge isn't available with hot magenta paint - it's only available with the zetec or titanium models but the edge is available with squeeze paint.

Well, I have brought my zetec tdci 3 door in panther black!

After e-mailing about 10 garages I went to see the garage that gave me best price to see what they would do on part ex. They quoted 11,750 for the fiesta and offered me 2k part ex so 9,750 otr, I left to think about and the next day I phoned about 10 more garages, most said they couldn't match and if I could get it take it. One agreed to match it but didn't have any 3 doors so offered 5 door for same price in either shade of blue but I really didn't fancy a 5 door so on top of that didn't like the blues very much so didn't go for that.

1 garage said they could probably do something but would need to see my clio so went in and they offered me 9,600 otr. I asked them to do £9,500 which he wouldn't go to but said he would do 9,550. I left to think about it and decided to go for it - I suppose I could have tried to play them off against the other garage and maybe saved a tiny bit more but I much preferred this garage - it's an hour away as opposed to 2 so much closer and it's much smaller, also I delt with the owner who seemed very genuine and he didn't give all the usual sales talk and rubbish most car salesmen do or try and push me into committing there an then which I hate. When I phoned up to say yes I also asked him to throw in some mats (£30) which he did so I am getting my fiesta zetec tdci 3 door with metallic paint and bluetooth and usb (free as per ford deal) and mats for £9550 otr (2k of that is part ex) and I'm putting 2k (which is minimum) on ford finance as they have a deal if you use finance they give you 450 off, the interest over 2 years will be £200 so will still be saving £250 and I will almost definetley pay it off after a couple of months so I will save a bit more.

Maybe if I phoned more placed or went back to 1st garage I could have saved a bit more but I'm happy with this deal and like the garage I'm buying it from so I'm happy with my decision, will be getting my new car next week!
