BTD we've been to CP twice, the first time was glorious the second it rained non-stop! Ultimately, we'll probably go for the cheapest option, still need to work on the figures
Thanks to IMD's fabby spreadsheet, I will do a new budget this week. I mentioned it to DH and he suggested getting a cheap pc for us both to use to input all spends!!!
I know it sounds weird to some, but sharing and discussing finances to that degree is quite a breakthrough for us! He never checks out joint account, doesn't know how much the mortgage, c.tax, nursery fees - in fact how much anything is.
Trouble is, now there really is no place for me to hide...................:o0 -

We really are living with the same man!! I have uploaded the spreadsheet to google and we both access it and update it - I like that I have nowhere to hide and that we discuss every purchase. I like that he finally knows how much the mortgage is. I don't feel quite so alone with it all and I am forcing him to share it with me.
Glad you like the spreadsheet, I think it puts things into perspective. I have put everything on there that is coming out this month so I know in advance how much I need to find and I feel so much more focused and I'm not afraid to show OH that we have to "find" this amount. It is refreshing to talk about it without a row and I hope it stays that way.1st debt - Next [STRIKE]£583.32[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£408.71 [/STRIKE] £0 :j
2nd debt - MBNA - £6,618.52
First in many many to go - baby steps and all that!
First lump sum to go - fingers crossed!

Hopefully IMD, this will be the breakthrough we've both been waiting for
Good Morning! WHITE RABBITS!!! (don't know if that actually does anything, but it can't hurt)
1st of a brand new month and I'm raring to go (though I was awake from 4am  so will probably be on my knees by 8pm). It's also my pay review, which is already making me feel wobbly
This month I pledge to make at least £10 a day and lose at least 7lbs.
Tonight I will start inputting all my figures into IMD's spreadsheet, and try to live by that.
60p won on the scratches this morning. It will never make me rich, but the £12 I received this morning in my bank account was gratefully accepted, so thanks to those MSE'ers who shared that in the first place :A
Right, off to work - have a good week / month everyone0 -
Pinch, punch first of the month, and all that.

I understand your breakthrough. My OH knows we're in debt but has no idea how much or who too. He deliberately leaves it to me and i don't push him as when he goes through a down patch, he can't cope with it all. It causes a lot of distress for us both. So in some ways it's easier for me to deal with it but i would love to be able to share the load with someone. Thank god for t'internet hey? xOne step at a time0 -
That is what we're here for Hopeful!
Managed to get through the day in one piece, but I'm feeling it now. I planned to do "Davina" tonight, but I'm too tired so I'll aim for a run tomorrow evening instead.
Nothing to report moneywise, all a bit dull really
Feels like Spring is about to spring - so that's positive! Hope anyone reading has had a good day0 -
Isn't it funny how all men seem to be similar in their approach to the debt, do you think that "we" as women just cope with it better?
I think the spreadsheet has made me take a different look at the debt and balance the books better as I can't hide anything on it and as OH has full access to it and it makes me feel better. Put my ebay figure in the extra income bit today and it balanced the books :j
Was it your pay review today or is it this month?
No idea how you cope having been awake since 4am - I'd be asleep by now!1st debt - Next [STRIKE]£583.32[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£408.71 [/STRIKE] £0 :j

Well, the debt I have was run up by me alone
I'm not saying that DH hasn't benefitted from it, but he is very much in the "If I haven't got it, I'm not spending it" camp........If only I'd listened to him
He couldn't care less if he doesn't have the latest this or that and is not materialistic in the slightest. We are very different!!!!
Pay review is later this month, so fingers crossed!
Right, think I will have to go to bed now, another early start tomorrow, so I need to veg, then sleep. Night all x0 -
Good Evening, I hope you are well (if anyone's there!
)
Had a pressured couple of days workwise and still more to do this evening.....
£5 in today from scratchie winnings, but hopefully this month's moneymaking will come in the form of the eagerly anticipated payrise. Had another call from a headhunter today, so I may have to throw that one into the negotiationsI do feel quite anxious about it TBH, I'm expecting a battle
I'm still sticking to the Fit for 40 plan and have just completed the Davina DVD :j so am feeling good! I entered my 10k race today - £16 lost, which will hopefully aid the loss of a more important 16lbs
Oooh and my car passed it's MOT!!! :j £53, but could have been much worse...
Off for a quick catch up!0
