Wayhey! The engine is revved and she's ready for off! :T
Pity we didn't live closer, we could "hi-vis" it up! :p

I'm thinking I might go round the block (won't be capable of any more than that) while the children are doing their paper rounds tomorrow. Everyone in the village except the odd runner and dog walker will be asleep so no one needs to see me wobble my way around the roads :o

I know it will do me good, on so many levels.....I just need to do it.

And YES, it is a shame you don't live nearer.......!

Around the block is all it takes.

I always play mind games with myself. If I've pledged to run 4 miles and can't be bothered I say to myself

"Just run up the road and back!".
Then once I'm further along than intended I say
"Why don't you turn round now and go home - take it easy?"

Then because I've given myself the choice, I just carry on (think that's down to my stupid rebellious nature - I won't be told what to do - how dumb!)

Anyway, I also tell myself I'm a really good runner, it's easy, I'm really enjoying myself etc etc - anything in fact, other than "I can't do it!". Then I just stop.

Go for it - you will feel amazing. Add yoga to the mix and it's a whole new you - very me, me, me and just what the Doctor ordered :A

It is definitely the getting out of the door that is the difficult part for me - once I am out I do ok, and generally enjoy it.

I know that I have a lot of work to do before I regain my fitness (or what I had of it, in any event) but I won't be taking my stopwatch or garmin with me - no pressure, just get round the block and see how I feel, that's the aim. And if I end up walking some of it, then so be it - I will still be out doing something.

Yeah, I wouldn't think in terms of Garmin, just go out for a stroll - but faster.
Fresh air in your lungs, cool breeze in your hair - not marathon training.

(Well not until we hear about the GNR at least - ballot results are out this week I think )

I could really do with getting in the GNR - would give me a perfect goal.

Get out there Hypno! If you can put your clothes out tonight and shoes by the door then it makes it easier to get up in the morning and just go. You will feel so much better and it will clear the headspace for you after all this carp you've had.

Macgirl - well done on your run :j:j Amazing how brilliant the running can make you feel. Enjoy your food, you've earnt it!
