Thanks LT, it certainly is a relief!

Chops we are wall to wall pink - and I'm not exactly a pink kind of girl

It does come in handy though. One of the questions last night was to find a link between Aurora Borealis, Ariel washing powder, the jasmine flower and something else - anyway our friends (with 2 boys) looked dumbfounded. DH and I look at each other deadpan and both said "Disney Princesses" :rotfl:
And WE WON THE QUIZ!!!! :j

Despite not drinking last night, I've woken up with a hangover type headache. I missed my run, as I'm going to get my hair coloured at 8.40 and need to get the girl's ballet stuff sorted before then. I can't face the wrath of OH when I'm swanning about then breezily wave over my shoulder on my way to the hairdressers - so I need to get everything sorted before I go....

(I hate moaning about "men", but why it all that always "Mum's" responsibility????) *sigh*

Today, moneywise nothing much to report. I need to get my act together for more Ebaying and Amazoning.

Right, off to get some porridge (made with water :A) will be back later.

    Have a good day x

Mums have a huge responsibility - if only the men actually realised once in a while what it is that we fit in, on top of a busy working week.....**bloody great big roll eyes smiley inserted here**

Have a good day, enjoy having your hair done - mine needs doing but I am reluctant to part with the cash.....I normally colour it myself but I really could do with the salon experience....magazines, coffee, et al!

Thanks. I always used to colour it myself, but it is dark brown - well with oceans of grey currently :o - and started to go that really fake black, with overlapping stripes where I can't see it, so I decided to get it done professionally.

I can't deny that I do love the cappuccino and gossip mags with a couple of hours p & q - blissful ;)

Mine is dark brown too, and thankfully up until recently I have had very little grey.....I have noticed over the last few days, though, that more grey is peeping through.....I blame OH entirely ;) If my next self colour attempt doesn't cover it, then I will investigate the cost of my favorite salon.....

I'm like Dickie Davis under the colour! :rotfl:

I'm only having it coloured today, not cut :money: so it will be around £30. However my friend goes to a local village salon and it's £24. Perhaps it's something you could budget in for you along with skiing. You need treats too :)

Once I have my new budgets sorted for essentials, I will certainly be including more for me in one way or another - as I said on my thread, I have promised myself that I will spend money once a month on something that is for ME.....whether a new cushion that I have fallen in love with, or a haircut, or a pair of killer heels......:)

Just need to get that blasted budget done!

  • If I dye my own hair it ends up all over the bathroom and so I have to go to the hairdressers. My hair is almost black anyway so if I want any other colour I need the professionals! I have just noticed some grey coming through as well :( Hypno - I think we should blame the men :D

Fantastic you went for a run, I'm plodding out this morning!

Glad your washer works now, did you sort out your bank account. Sadly I didn't win Euromillions so I cannot share any with you....

I spent a night this week wearing night vision goggles playing hide and seak and then shooting the boys!!! I felt like that wierdo in Hanabal !!

It was good fun, but sometimes I long to just play dolls or colour quietly!!!

I wouldn't say it was exactly quiet round these parts Chops!

I think the monthly treat is a good thing Hypno. I find even just perusing nice things and pretending I'll buy them another time works (sometimes).

Well, I am so pleased with myself, I've just got back from a 6 mile run! :j
The conditions were perfect for me - cold, damp with low visibility (due to thick fog). I didn't feel quite so exposed  - apart from drawing necessary attention to myself in my hi-vis vest.
I enjoy it sooo much, I really need to shift myself more. The mental benefits far outweigh the physical. All my problems have melted away by mile 2 and I start to feel invincible. I'm going to try to go tomorrow afternoon too - doll's house renovation permitting!

The grey is gone, so I feel 10 years younger - well apart from the wrinkles, but they'll have to stay put, there's no budget for botox even if I wanted it!

After the hair do, I nipped into town and got some early Christmas pressies in Monsoon sale. I got 3 pairs of hand-warmers - like fingerless mitts that finish half way up your arm. They are lovely, light grey with little flecks of silver thread - reduced to £4.20 a pair! :money: :T So I was very pleased with that.

Then bought myself a top for tonight with a Christmas voucher. I'm going for a curry with some friends. Not very good dietwise, but I've "earned" 702 cals from my run - so have 892 to "spend" :D

Have a good evening all :)
