    Yep, moi aussi ;)
Feeling especially lardy today, so need something to shame/shock me into running. I love it when I go a few times a week, but finding time to go, when it's:

    a) not pitch black a la Crimewatch Reconstruction :oor
    b) dark enough / early enough so peeps are in bed - and don't recognise me :rotfl:

    - is pretty difficult. Once it gets lighter on a morning....actually I now leave for work at 6.30am.......:rolleyes::rolleyes:
*sigh* I WILL find a way!! Roll on the 15th - when we find out about the first 3000 places!
  • Morning MacGirl - Just a nudge to make sure you are doing your flylady and have put the christmas decs away! :p
I need to motivate myself today - Had a good day yesterday both diet and exercise wise, but I have woken with a slight headache and seem to have lost focus a bit.
I really want to enter the Great Yorkshire Run - 10k round Sheffield (my home town) think its on 5th September, but I really don't want to cough up for the entry fee (it will be x2 because I want OH to do it with me)
Ive been quite good so far this week!

Morning MissO, thanks for the nudge ;) Nope I'm still thawing out my toes after walking DD to school! Wellies just do not cut it, even with 4 pairs of socks! :rotfl:

So, we're just watching High School Musical 2 and looking at moon boots on Ebay....Think I will suffer on for me, as I can't justify the spend for such a short period, but might have to buy one pair for one of the girls. Little DD outgrew her snowboots, so I Ebay-ed them before Christmas.

As for running, the Bupa ones are expensive, aren't they and they are always over-subscribed, so not easy to run. It's probably better to look on Runner's World for cheaper ones. I did a trail 10k in Idle, Bradford in 2008 which was good and not expensive - about £12 I think.....but still, when you are trying not to spend, it is expensive

Good Morning! I'm so cold I still haven't taken my hat off :o
This morning I've posted my 2 Amazon books :T Last night I listed another and just listed one this morning :A

I woke up this morning deciding today was the first day of my "Countdown to 40". No more biscuits or sugar of any kind. If I can just cut that out, I will lose weight and I really need to. I feel very sluggish, which has not been helped by the fact that I keep eating all the leftover Xmas chocs and biscuits - so no more.

    Today I plan to:
    1. Blitz the living room, pull out furniture and vacumn underneath
    2. Declutter the 2 large toyboxes and seperate into Ebay or charity pile (this won't be easy with little DD exclaiming "Look what I've just found!" everytime I put something in the "bin" pile
    3. Put away the Xmas decs and declutter/chuck any not needed
    4. List at least 5 items on Ebay
    5. Clean out 2 more Kitchen cupboards

I think that's enough to be getting on with. Thanks again for the nudge MissO :)
Have a good day if you're reading, Mac x

Well so far I have put away the Christmas Decorations, but that is about all from my list. I ended up getting sidetracked :o

    I have though:
Cleaned the bathroom and changed towels.
Washed 3 loads, dried and put away
Sorted out a HUGE pile for Ebay, which I will list this evening
Cleared out some drawers and sorted piles to Ebay and put rest in the charity bag - The Heart Foundation have just put a bag through the door and will collect on Tuesday, so that was handy!
Stripped and changed the girl's beds
Found another massive bag of books to sort through and sell.
Took books back to the library - due today, so no fine
    :A

Plus I've only spent 93p, so almost a NSD (I've had 4 this month, so I'm doing ok there)

So not a bad day in all. But I am getting a bit despondent that despite no spending, my total hardly moves :( Perhaps I'm expecting too much. I haven't spent on a CC for months, and paid for Christmas without credit - a first for me.
I've been so careful, not frittering away cash like I used to, bringing lunches to work etc - being in fact, really stingy!

So I'm kind of fed up that the total hardly moves. Mum's party didn't help, so perhaps that's it. Today I'm £204.99 overdrawn  (I know that without the party I would be £100 in credit, which would be fine. I know it was a one-off, but there's always something )
Hopefully I can make this back by the end of the month with what I'm selling.

I see other people who seem to make massive inroads and really don't know where I'm going wrong....
Might start a spending diary on here to keep track.....Sorry for moaning :o

You have to look at the wider picture. Apart from your spends on your mum's birthday, which was a definite "one off".....you have not spent on your credit card.....so therefore you are not increasing your debt.

OK, so your debt totals may not be going down as much as you would like.....but they are not going up, either.....and I would bet you that 12 or 18 months ago, not only would the debt not be decreasing, but it would be increasing steadily.....so that is a huge difference.

If you are "standing still" as far as the debt totals go - ie not going up, and not going down, then that is an excellent starting point.

What you then need, is simply to make sure that every penny you make from selling on ebay etc is thrown at the debt - and you will see it going down....the rest of your budget is obviously doing ok, so if you keep that focus, and don't let your spending increase, then you will see a real difference over time.

Of course, if you are going to "reinvest" your MSE money for the make £100 into £10k challenge, you won't be throwing it at your debt, so the debt won't be going down, but you will instead see your challenge pot increase, so you can make bigger lump sum payments to your debt later in the year instead!

Believe me, being at this point is actually a pretty good place, considering you've survived Christmas etc!!

Thanks for taking the time to write that long post. I'm sure you're right.
In the past my OD would be about £400/500 around now, after having shifted it to a card - and I wouldn't have cared less :o So that in itself it progress!
