56 miles :eek::eek::eek:
I can easily get obsessed with my garmin.......but it was very very useful for pacing out those long long long training runs leading up to the marathon......otherwise I would blast for 8 miles then struggle to do another 2, yet alone the other 5 or 10 that I had planned for that day!
But at this stage, it is all about just getting my trainers on and getting out there - time and distance is irrelevant at the moment, I just need to DO IT!!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. I am quite scared/excited about it, all fell running and 24 hours to complete it - I'll probably need 25 hours though.....
The garmin is brilliant keeping the pace. I think we should all enter a race as an incentive!1st debt - Next [STRIKE]£583.32[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£408.71 [/STRIKE] £0 :j
2nd debt - MBNA - £6,618.52
First in many many to go - baby steps and all that!
First lump sum to go - fingers crossed!
08/06/09 - [STRIKE]£11,497.68[/STRIKE] NOW - £9,757.75

Well I don't have a garmin and doubt I'll be getting one anytime soon.
I did buy a Nike+ thing to hook up to my iTouch, but I hate headphones (when running) and it didn't work anyway, so I sent it back.
The Nike+ wristband looks ok and is only about £40 I think, but for now, I'm ok without. I'd certainly like to enter a race in the spring - I'll look out for one.
All the shortbread cookies are done for tomorrow and look GREAT! (though I say so myself):D.
I've made and iced 8 snowmen, 5 stars, 3 snowflakes and 3 butterflies (at little DD's insistence and I don't argue with her ).
There should have been more but we broke, ate and let the kids ice some along the way!
All in all, a productive weekend. Must go and clean up now and get ready for tomorrow. Monday is always the busiest day, plus I've got the afternoon off, so got to cram all my work into half a day.
Enjoy what's left of the weekend and Have a good week everyone, Mac x0 -
 The Bl00dy bank have put a stop on my card!
They sent an automated call at the weekend to check I had made all the transactions the day before - "Er yes, I have"
Then I tried to buy diesel today and my card was declined - I rang and they said they were trying to prevent fraud. I said I appreciate that, but couldn't you have looked at my account, seen I had just been paid and put 2 and 2 together - it is :xmastree: And waht was the point of the automated call checker if they ignored it's findings???!!!!
Anyway all sorted nowAnd breathe.......... (I really do need yoga tonight don't I?!)
Right must dash, the coffee afternoon awaits!0 -
Why do they always do that? And why does it always then decline your card when you have bought petrol......just about the only place you can't slink away from, and put the goods back on the shelf, as you mutter, it's ok, I'll sort it out later? The only place worse than that is at a restaurant after you have eaten.........!
so, yes, deep breaths needed.....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Just got back from school coffee afternoon - that was worth taking the afternoon off work for - not
The upside is I got home 2 hours earlier than usual :j
Tonight I've decided not to go to yoga, I need to spend the time at home getting on top of things, which will relax me long term (plus I'll save £5 :money:).
I have been thinking of making a "5 year Plan Mood Board" and whilst I was out running yesterday, decided I will do one.
A friend told me about it. You find images of your aspirations and make a visual board of your dreams and wants. Then once you have something tangible, you can work towards it - with the hope it all comes true!
Sounds implausible I know, but then another friend told me of someone they knew who did it and achieved everything on their board!!! So what's to lose?
I've realised that in order to be debt free by next August, I need to seriously up my income. Scratchcards do help and Ebaying will work to a point, but I also need to find another stream of cash. As I' creative, I think I need to find something I can make and sell. I have done craft fairs in the past, so might try that again....
In the meantime, the overdraft is the big issue. I'm going to try and see if I can transfer £3500 from Virgin to Nationwide, then transfer the overdraft to Virgin.
And I'm going to do that RIGHT NOW!!!0 -
Just got off the phone to Virgin.
I wanted to double check I could do a money transfer into my bank account to pay off the OD (I'm ashamed to say, I've done many of these over the years but I'm determined this will be the last)
The lady was very helpful and said they could offer me 1.9% APR until August 2010. Better than the 18.9% Lloyds are charging, so - result :T
I just have to wait a few days for the credit limit to be increased, then I can surge ahead. I still might transfer some from Virgin to Nationwide as it is 0% until next Christmas, so the 3% fee is worth it - I think
I feel very positive that I have done something to deal with my debt today0 -
Hi Mac. Sounds like you had a good, productive day yesterday - other than the coffee afternoon!
The aspirations boards sounds really cool. Let us know what you put on itOne step at a time0 -
Mac I noticed on the PAD thread that you said you were looking for an elf yesterday. Did you find one? I am desperate for one I may need to resort to knitting one (in my spare time lol)
