Excellent news on the payrise :T:T:T

Does it make a nice workable difference to your debt free date etc?

Sadly no Hypno, that will be diverted directly into the house fund. I'm thinking long term investment.

Not that I'm ignoring the debt, but I acknowledge it hasn't been my priority this year. I definitely concentrated on moving house and making that happen. We desperately need more space, so I am glad that that particular aim has been achieved. From now on - getting rid of my debt IS number 1.

I can do it on what I earn. A bonus/lump sum would be hugely motivating to instantly wipe out one of those debts, but it won't happen until the year end. Once we move, I have plans for my Fridays that I hope will bring in another stream of income. Mr Big has started to work his magic already! But I have to accept that moving house will sap my money for the next few months, so I'll be treading water.

Long term investment is good :D

As for the hourly rate- I have put an explanation on MGs thread - hope it helps - if it doesn't, then I simply suggest you get an early night :rotfl:

    Thanks Taxi - it's a while since I've seen "gl" ;)

Well, a very wet morning here. Which is a shame as I've been a good Flybaby and set out my clothes last night - white trousers. Hmmmm I think not.

Little DD's new teacher is visiting this morning. They come to meet the child in their own home, I guess to make school less intimidating, but also to check that you live where you say you do. Competition is fierce to get in this school, but we didn't realise that when we bought the house - it was just near our favourite pub :rotfl:

    After that I need to:
    Chase the solicitor,
Blitz round the house, before the viewings
Buy some self-leveling concrete for the porch floor,
Look for a carpet for the attic
Submit the application to sublet this house. We pay a £1 ground rent to the Duke of somewhere, as do most houses here.

And loads of other things. I woke with my magical hourly rate whirring round my head. It seems like an astronomical figure - but there are people in my company who earn that or above - so perhaps it's not so out of reach one day.......

The quest begins - have a good day x

Yes, it brings to mind the quote I used to have in my sig:

SEE IT IN YOUR MIND AND YOU CAN ACHIEVE IT

I removed it because Peter Andre said it and I felt like a berk :rotfl:

    But......there's something in it I think......Dare to Dream :)

Well done on the payrise. Another one here who prefers payrises to one-off bonuses. Any new % rises are based on the current salary, bonuses tend to be hit or miss with some companies. Also your basic package is better with a better base salary if you look for new jobs.

Hope you find a nice tenant for the house.
