I didn't realise the algae was so poisonous - especially as taking it in tablet form is meant to be one of the best things for your health....
Yes, I've always dreamt of a sewing room. In my dream it was on a cliff overlooking the sea in a huge white box with double height floor to ceiling windows *sigh* I am quite a dreamer :rotfl: But it will be nice to dust them off and put them to use - I'm so excited to move :j
All horrible ironing done and labels ironed on to most bits of uniform. DD1 goes back tomorrow, little DD starts next Monday, so I'll do hers next week - can't have too much of a good thing
Hoping for an uber-frugal week with tenants fighting each other to move in.....fingers crossed.0 -
All ironing done here too.......
Fingers are crossed here too for some super speedy reliable tenants for you!!
when do you move?Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Thanks you two :A
I think I've been too complacent about renting, when asked I've just given a cavalier wave of my hand and said "Oh yes, we'll let it easily"
Now I'm having a wobble and wondering what if we don't.....I'm going to ring the agent tomorrow to see when the board goes up. DH said not to panic, they only photographed it on Friday - true
As for moving dates - who knows. I spoke to the solicitors on Friday and they said they had submitted some questions to the other side. So, I'm going to chase them on Tuesday. We planned to move on the 24th Sept but our IFA reckons we could complete before then, the EA thinks not  I'm not stressing about it though - if we don't move until October it's no great shakes.0 -
Everything else has happened as you need it, so why would the letting be any different? If you have priced it realistically, you will get tenants. How long have the ones next door been empty in between lettings and how much do they go for?Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Well, the ones next door have various prices as are in different states of repair. Next door was owned by an old couple, who sadly dies 18 months ago. They had lived there for 50 years and were very house proud, but it needed modernising. The bloke who bought it did the bare minimum, then rented it out - don't know how much for.
2 others are let by the same agent we're using and vary in price - 1 is £50 less than ours is marketed the other £100. If need be we can reduce it. I wanted to market it for less, but when looking at others for rent in less popular areas than this (we are in the catchment for one of the top primaries in the area, plus it's close to the hospital and Uni) the higher price was more comparative. So we went with the EA's recommendation.
I also have this silly thing where I need to be a bit pessimistic/realistic or I feel it won't work out. I'm like that with job interviews. I can't allow myself to be too confident or it might not get the job - if that makes sense?! Pride before a fall and all that..... silly but it's kind of like my insurance policy0 -
Well, if the agent is worth his salt, they will have tenants in for you in no time.
Have confidence in your property and in yourself - you have done a great job on it, and that will pay off.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Thank you :A
BTW Hypno I have a bone to pick with you. What's all this "2.7 to beat"?! Erm....I think you mean 2.17. I'm not racing against your 23 year old self! :rotfl:
Once I've navigated my way round pantomine horses, Elvis and Superman, I'll be happy with sub 2.300 -
Forgot to take my lunch today  so spent £3.15 at work - grrrr. Other than that a busy day and it will be a busy night as I have more work to do.
We've also got to clear out the rear porch as the builder is coming to repair it tomorrow - more spends but it is budgetted for from the joint pot.
Barclaycard have sent me a 0% offer today until March 2011....I'll have to think about that, but I could do with switching Virgin and my Lloyds deal is coming to an end soon. I am hoping that this week I'll hear about my deal at work, which might pay off one of the cards, so I'll hang on until I know...
My GNR pack has arrived :j I'm in Green wave so anyone's watching, look out for meI'm a v. excited now! The TO LET sign has also arrived in our front garden - so it's all starting to become real now - gulp
