sounds like you're very organised for the move.
sorry to hear that DHS swim is off tomorrow but that algae stuff is poisonous....gnr sounds good0 -
Thanks taxi! Glad you're on the other side of the "loopy juice"
4 more boxes packed. The house feels really calm and zen - probably cos half of it is packed in the cellar - but all the months of decluttering and decorating have really paid off. I'm done with packing for the day, just stripped the girls beds and put the sheets in the washer. Dining room curtains are on the line ready to be ironed after tea, along with another basketful.
Talking of which pasta calls tonight, in preparation for my 12 miles in the morningreally not looking forward to that.....

Packing seems to be going well :T Good luck for the run tomorrow - do you have anything planned for this evening or are you going to get a chance to recharge your batteries?Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Another box packed. I keep eyeing the ironing but I'm done in and can't be bothered. I also should do an hour in the attic sorting the girl's clothes, but again CBA am too tired now.
So a bit of surfing I Think
Yesterday, as a punishment for being naughty and running around the new house, I made the kids go to the Laura Ashley Home shop with me for a bit of droolingObviously, I can't afford anything from there, but it inspired me to get creative.
Today I've been hunting on Ebay for a second hand sofa that I could re-cover as buying a new one from there is a "when I win the lottery" dream. When I graduated, I bought an industrial sewing machine and overlocker from a lingerie factory that had gone bankrupt. I planned to start my own business but student debts needed paying, so I got a job and got stuck on the capitalist hamster wheel  They have been used to make my wedding/bridesmaid dresses, but nothing since and had to make way for DH's fledgling business. But a new house means more room and I'm going to blow off the cobwebs and get "Baldwins Casuals" going!
So, today whilst packing, I was daydreaming about my new sewing room that I'm going to have in our new cellar. There are 3 rooms, so plenty of space and with a lick of paint (that I already have :money:) it will be a nice workspace. At first I'll make curtains and blinds, then after that maybe some clothes for myself and the kids or recovering furniture.
I'm full of these great plans when I've had a few days off work, so we'll see what happens when I back in the real world.....but the intention is there at least0 -

Well I got a second wind and after DH had gone out running I cracked on a bit more.
Sorted the ironing pile - moving things from A to B, though still not actually plugged in the iron. Hate ironing - yuk.
Then had a look at the light fitting in our bedroom and wrestled with it to take it down and cleaned it. It was filthybut is now sparkling :A
Sorted out all the new uniforms and put the too small ones in a bag to donate to school - will label tomorrow
Put away all the girl's clothes and sorted through drawers, adding to the charity shop bag
Thought about ways to make money once we move........0 -
Good morning! Ran 12 miles again this morning :j I've tried to map it twice but can't get the accurate distance. Anyway it was at least 12 and I did it in 2.03hrs. Slower than last week, though it felt faster and more comfortable - but I did have to stop for a toilet break behind a bush
I promised the kids we'd go swimming - so that's next. Then ironing, ironing, ironing!!!! Joy of joys.
Moneywise I'm back on the envelopes (forgot to start them this month) as I don't have much spare after paying off b'card. So reckon I'll have to survive on £10 a week for the next 3 weeks. It can be done and the discipline will do me no harm....
Hope anyone reading has a good day0 -
Love the idea of a sewing room, I would prefer to make things rather than fix them, but my sewing machine is ancient. Glad the de-clutter is worth it.
That blue green algae stuff is very dangerous. Well done on the run, that is excellent!! The ironing will probably take me over 2 hours too.....perhaps I should go for a run instead.......hmmm!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes.
