Sorry to hear that macgirl, hope it gets better soon.

When I last moved I literally gave dozens and dozens of things I could have sold- shoes with the price label still on, etc etc - but the priority was getting out of the flat, with as little excess baggage as possible (more junk = more trips, and that costs too!). Sometimes I think I should have sold it, but I had enough on my plate and a new house to redecorate - we can't do it all, even though we try! Today I have to go up to the loft and clear up the stuff I moved in 18 months ago and have never sorted since - I'm currently wishing I had binned EVERYTHING!

Thanks Museumworker (which one do you work at? :D) yes, I agree. I have been decluttering the cellar today and to be honest it's not as bad as I feared, as we did it last year, so most of it we need.
However, my carboot is full to bursting ready for the charity shops. I've cleaned up the pushchair ready to sell to my colleague tomorrow too :money:, but that is all that will be sold.
I most probably would make a few £££, but that is not the priority - ha! assuming the Natwest play ball - I will be on the phone to them tout suite tomorrow.
I've packed up loads of things that we don't need - Christmas stuff and the like, so it feels like loads has been achieved this weekend.

We took the van back to my Dad at 4pm and took the kids to the park and then DH took us for a pub lunch on the way home - a rare treat.

Chops - you missed my later post - I couldn't do the run as I think I must have broken my little toe (pathetic I know :o). I went for a test run this morning, but can't put pressure on it. I was so upset, even DD1 said "can't you just run on your heels?" :rotfl:
My nursey sister said to take Ibrupofen for 3 days, tape it to the next toe and rest for a week. So that I will do, before walking around Rome next week, whooohoooo! :j

Sorry to hear that you missed your race..what a shame.

I always give stuff to the charity shop rather than sell it and then at least somebody else benefits and I feel like I've helped a charity as well and of course I get my space back ..everyone wins

Yes, that's my sentiment entirely Taxi :)

Although at the moment, I've cleared space in the house and filled it in the boot of my car. I won't be able to drop it off until Friday, so it will sit there as I'm in Scotland on Wednesday and Thursday with work, but at least it is out of the house.

Didn't manage a no spend day today. I had to buy curtain poles to leave here, so got them from Wilkos after a tip from MSE Mum! :money:
Also bought little DD a school coat for £17. All I need to get them is shoes now, so I'm going to label everything this week and pack it away.

No word on the mortgage. I rang them this morning and they said to expect a decision by Wednesday - the waiting is torturous :o I told them that our vendors want to complete at the end of the month and she said they would put a note on my file...... I'll ring them again tomorrow :D

Yes, hope you hear very soon, and then it really will be full steam ahead!

sorry to read about your toe - I broke mine once and I certainly wouldn't have been able to run....very very painful, and I hope it heals soon. certainly, Rome sounds perfect timing!

Well I heard today and they said YEEEEEEESSSSSS! :j:j:j

So, a surveyor has been appointed and the valuation should be done this week, all being well. I know it's not officially in the bag until that report is back, but I'm celebrating as it's a big milestone on the way to the Offer letter :D

I have to leave home at 5.15am tomorrow, but before then I have a few hours work to do and pack my bag - which I've half done. I'm so tired, as both kids had me up in the night, but I have to carry on as there is lots to do.....

    Hope everyone's had a good day :)
