Thanks everyone :A and thanks for taking time out of your holiday Se - hope you're having a lovely time.

And Hypno, you didn't drive your husband away. It takes 2 to tango remember ;) You had many many years together and went through a lot of hard times, you have much to be proud of. I'm sure he is a better person for having known you x

Sorry you feel "apart" from OH. Obviously I am not qualified to comment, having driven my husband away.....

Hypno, you actually got together when very young, people do change as they get older, sometimes people change together in the same direction, sometimes they don't, and grow apart. Your relationship lasted a lot longer than many, and that doesn't happen without some effort and their being good parts to it and times during it.

Still in pj's myself BTD :o BUT I've lost 2 inches from my waist :j Proof that Blast Off Belly Fat works!!

OH got up and said "Let's have a look at these spreadsheets then" They are rudimentary at best, but it did spark a bigger conversation which has cleared the air.
He was talking about the future and our kid's futures and their prospects. He painted lots of different scenarios using various couples that we know and talked realistically about what we have and our money prospects going forward.

It was a bit grim in places, but ultimately I feel loads better. We have decided to get a cheap tent and take the kids camping as opposed to my parent's place which would still be £1500 for flights and a car - or Center Parcs which would be about £800.

He's happy to go along with the budgets but noticed there is no room for extras - it would be very tight. He doesn't spend much on himself, but thinks I would get hacked off with it - he's probably right and to be honest he works very hard, so deserves to indulge in his sporting hobbies - which don't cost much.

It feels good just to talk. We are taking the kids to the cinema. I'm a bit frustrated as I wanted to save money and take themselves on Orange Wed, but they are excited and I'll make sure there are no other spends for the rest of the week, by going to the park or visiting friends.

Anyway, off to get showered, dressed and eat something quick and low cal before the gruesome Nanny McPhee (where's the eye roller when you need it)

I am really glad that you have cleared the air a bit - even if it "prompts" further comment or discussion later on, at least you know that it will be in possession of the facts, and that makes a huge difference in my experience.

    Enjoy the cinema!!

Is blast off belly fat the 10 minute solutions one, I'm currently liking the body toning one.

Well done on the 2 inches.

Sounds like the chat with your OH has cleared the air a bit, hope you're both a bit happier now. Enjoy the cinema.

    Thanks to you both :)

Yes, Se it is the 10 minute solutions. I've been doing it most days and as it's only for 10 minutes, it's easy to motivate myself to do bite size chunks. I always end up doing at least 30 minutes and am amazed that it has taken affect so quickly. I'll definitely keep it up!

Nanny McPhee was great and we all enjoyed it. I stopped off at the market on the way back as everything was closing up and got loads of plants for £10 :T

Tomorrow, I'm going to attack the garden, plant the new things and sow seeds.

Hope everyone's had a Happy Monday!

hey Macgirl:hello: have just managed to wrestle EVERYONE off the computer (no mean feat on a bank Holiday) and have finally caught up on your diary. Glad you and OH have gone through spreadsheets and money stuff generally together. My OH and I had that kind of conversation the other week - along the lines of I need to have someone to actually discuss stuff with, not just someone who will say 'Its fine, its OK' to every potential problem;) It can often feel like a brick wall - but its worth it in the end, isn't it?

The grey and coldness of today is slightly depressing - we have just spent £7 getting into somewhere which is usually free, because they have a 'country fair' on - which seems to be a euphemism for 'everything in here will cost you and your children lots of money'. Bit of a rip-off really, which is a shame.
