The downside is that despite being 2 years apart - they are the same size, so no hand-me-downs.....
Mine were 18 months apart and the same problem, no 1 was tall and skinny, no 2 was nearer normal (less skinny) so very quickly in the same size one for height and one for width.
Everyone assumes with more than one of the same sex you can pass things down, so it was a surprise to discover we couldn't.0 -
The upside Se, is that they can wear each others clothes!
One's a small 5 nearly 6 and the other is almost 4 - both in age 5-6.
Plans for tomorrow are - weather permitting; gardening. There isn't much to do, just general tidying. I'm going to see how many plants I can get for a tenner at the market and do some pots/hanging basket to smarten up front of house.
Then I'll get some seeds and set the children off on a cheap little activity - growing tomatoes and bedders, if it's not too late. They can clean the pots and seed trays, so that will kill another hour!
I want to blitz our bedroom which has become a dumping ground for laundry this weekend and is a constant source of low-level stress.
Plus I need to dig out our house insurance docs to arrange to have the bathroom leak fixed.
Big mission for this week is to attempt to teach DD1 to ride her bike. It's something that we haven't paid enough attention to and there is a lovely park nearby that we can walk/ride to.
I'm going to take a friend's advice and take off the pedals and stabilisers until she gets her balance.
Moneywise - I'm determined to get the rest of my Ebay/Amazon stuff listed, the rest will go to the charity shop. I need to have a big cleanse this week.
Then I'll arrange to see a few friends that we have loose arrangements with, so shouldn't spend much - if anything.
We will be baking and making and perhaps a trip to the cinema on Orange Wednesday!0 -

I'm sure we lead parallel lives!! We took DS stabilisers off this week and I pretended to put them in the bin. I then proceeded to run up and down the road numerous (hundreds) times resulting in a back ache and then let go. We only had one small incident and within 36 hours he is cycling like never before :j Very proud mother moment! I have been trying to do this for the last 6 months and it took 30 mins of running up and down on my part and hey presto!1st debt - Next [STRIKE]£583.32[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£408.71 [/STRIKE] £0 :j

That's encouraging! Hope we have the same level of success :T0

Well done/good luck to all small people venturing out on 2 wheels, it really is a big achievement :T
My garden/house frontage would look a whole lot better if the leaves and bits of rubbish that have accumulated in corners were just swept up. If it is dry tomorrow, I may hunt out the stiff broom and shovel and get some of them in a bin bag.......I am sure it would make a significant difference for no more than about an hour's work.

Raining here, so no gardening this morning at least.
I got up to to an exercise DVD but my legs are like lead from yesterday, so I'll do it tomorrow instead!
Didn't manage to entice DH to look at the spreadsheets last night. He seems quite down at the moment. Life and responsibility and just "people" are grinding him down......
I don't know what to do really, we seem very far apart at the moment.
It probably doesn't help that I'm on here so much (though he's in bed now and is often doing something else, so I can't feel too guilty about that), but as well as chat - it keeps my focus on all things money, which would otherwise be ignored.
So, there is much to do today.......starting with that.
Hope you have a good one!0 -
Raining here too - great weather for a long run.....
Sorry to hear you feeling down about OH - I know in the past few weeks since OH's LBM he has been up and down. I have carried the guilt for how he's feeling despite me doing the best I can to get us out of this situation.
Maybe leave the spreadsheets for now when he is more approachable and not appearing so bogged down. Apart from the last few days, I have just tried to look on the bright side with OH so that he would really be pi**ing on my parade if he was negative with me.
Hope the weather improves so you can launch 2 wheel freedom - I found just run, push and off they go (after a significant amount of time and only one scratched knee)

Thanks! Perhaps I'll leave the pedals on then
I've just been looking at mortgage calculators and rates. DH really wants to move and is sick of living here, but we still want to keep this and rent it out. He won't move until we've shifted the debt (apart from his radical idea last week - "Just forget about the £17k, don't factor it in" Hmmm ), so I'm trying to focus on what we need to achieve and how much it will all cost to give us something to aim for.
So I've added the monthly payments for this house on a BTL basis to the spreadsheet and the potential new house on what I think we can afford.
Obviously all my dream houses I run past will require another £200k that we don't have, but one day.......:D
Fingers crossed for a lottery win0 -
Sorry you feel "apart" from OH. Obviously I am not qualified to comment, having driven my husband away, but I do hope that things settle down for you very soon, otherwise it will drag you down too and will you will lose focus on the debt busting.
Its raining here too - but I've got nothing exciting planned, so nothing ruined by the weather. I hope you get sunshine soon and can get outside and doing the bike thing!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Sorry to hear DH is down.
Finances being a worry doesn't help any relationship. Not sure if you can manage it, try to schedule in either a treat out for the 2 of you every so often or an M&S meal for 2 after the kids have gone to bed, might help, with vouchers and Tesco deals it doesn't need to cost that much. Just so there's time for you as a couple, it's so easy to put finances and the children first all the time.0
