They are the biggest expectation I think for many people buying a house, and they will offer on a house accordingly. For example, it will prob cost £4-5k to do mine, but if I tried to sell it without them, any buyer would knock at least £10k off the price. So it is an investment really, and as far as selling the house is concerned, I think it will just make it a whole lot easier.
Have a good day, Macgirl!
Yep, speculate to accumulate!
We are hoping to rent ours, but still competition is fierce in this area with many good properties and new build apartments.
We can cope with the drafts from the old windows, but tenants would not, so we have to do them - plus every other house in the street has them.....0 -
My house is a tip, the ironing will soon reach 6' and I have a hang over and resemble the women off terror hawks!!

Your day sounds remarkably like mine, dancing classes and swimming lessons! We have double glazed but they were all put in at different times by the other owners so could do with the job lot doing, but typical of me I want wooden looking ones

Zelda!! Hahaha! We were laughing about The Terror Hawks at work this week, saying someone looked like the afore mentioned......enjoy your Fruit and Nut x
Swimming was eventful today IMD, the lessons were cut short due to a child being sick in the pool!
Now I'm having a quick coffee break, then Ebaying (groan - really not looking forward to that) and playing with my new toy HRM. It was £39.99 - not £30 typical of me to fall for that little retail trick, ah well it will do until I can afford something better.
Have a good afternoon all0 -
Yuck - horrible sick in pool - worse than poo! I have the joy of lessons later but I am planning Mr IMD to have the thankless task of dragging DS to his lessons and bribing him.
I use my HRM but not really sure what I'm doing with it. Just see it say 187 and wonder if I am about to die......:rotfl:

No fruit and nut here sadly. The HRM is only that. I'm a bit miffed as I thought it was a stopwatch too - can't return it as it falls outside the Argos 30 day return policy
Oh well, I'll have to put it to good use!0 -

Thanks Hypno, I've been dreaming about it all night - running in New York through traffic in a coat, running through someone's house, running up a cliff face (?) - I'm exhausted already!
Luckily, it's a flat course with one short steep hill at the start, I can handle that. Plus I'm doing it with 2 friends, so it should be fun! Just had half a bowl of porridge which feels odd as I normally run on empty, but will pass out if I don't eat until 10am.
And breathe, can you tell I'm a bit nervous?!
Will catch up later xx0 -
