Well October started well I really thought Id do the 7lb for the first time ever but well, the month fizzled out with me just the 4lb down again.

Still, another month. I bought a little second hand twist and step machine from my local charity shop yesterday. It nearly kills me after a minute or so and Im a bit scared of falling backwards. There is a little screen telling you how much time youve been on it, how many steps and how many calories youve burnt. It takes 11 steps to lose one calorie pmsl.

I bought a step machine about a month ago, and have been doing 30 mins a day on it burning 200ish calories, when I first started I was the same as you and was nackered after a few mins! I think it has trimmed my legs quite nicely though with dieting aswell, deffinately worth sticking to :)
  • Finally weighed in - Tuesday is my WW weigh in day. I am now 11st 6lbs so have lost 6lbs in October. Here's to the next 6!

    WELL DONE Rotherham Lass!!!

I have had an OK day foodwise, but am totally exhausted so didn't fit much exercise apart from about an hour and 15 mins walking. An early night is what I need...

    Good morning losers!

Well I am off to a good start, as the scales are slightly down today - not much but at least I'm heading in the right direction!

My downfall though is the evening munchies. At the moment I am saving calories for the evening so I can have a large glass of wine and some nibbles, but I do tend to graze throughout the evening (sometimes I just go to bed so I'll stop eating). It isn't even that I feel hungry, just 'peckish' - I do sometimes have a bowl of HM soup which fills me up - but tbh that isn't really the point, I just crave something to munch while I watch TV (I don't like popcorn!)

So..... any tips for beating evening munchies?

LazyDaisy, it's good to see you back - sorry, meant to say that earlier!

Keep busy is my tip!! Go for a 5-minute walk, jump your OH :D, do your nails, have a bath, put on a face mask, lie down and listen to music... whatever works for you. I find reading excellent as I never have the urge to eat when I'm doing that. Surfing the net always seems to give me munchies though! :o

    HTH.

zzzLazyDaisy I find that chewing sugar-free gum can help take the edge off my peckish feelings and failing that anything I do eat after chewing gum tastes horrible when combined with the minty taste :D I'm going to treat myself to some new nail varnish and start doing my nails again because they've been badly neglected since I became a Mum. Hopefully that will distract me in the evenings. Also, I find that if I brush my teeth a bit earlier in the evening rather than just before bed, it helps stop me snacking.

Rotherham Lass - well done :j

I've had a pretty good couple of days, no slip ups and I'm feeling positive and focussed - long may it continue :rotfl:

Ooh yes, teeth brushing is also good for preventing the snack urge!!! I can't eat for at least 30 minutes after brushing, by which time the urge has gone.

Now that you mention it, this is one of my tricks too! Works for me. Tooth brush and toothpaste in the desk drawer here at work.

Anyway, busy month for me at work so late signing in.
Dipped to 10st 2lb last month, aiming to maintain 10st 4lb from now on.
Following a couple of naughty 500 calorie slices of cake and an apple a day last week I seem to be back up to 10st 4lbs :)

Time for coffee and then teeth brushing ;)

    I've been Money Tipped!
    I'm another tooth brusher. :)

    Fabulous diversion tactic :)

OK, well, my scan confirmed that I have had further changes that will be inhibiting weight loss/leading to weight gain so five days for results to go through and then I should be able to get a change to my drugs.

I know it sounds silly because I knew I was doing ''the right stuff'' but its a relief all the same.

Thanks for all the tips about munching! I'll defo have whiter than white teeth in a few months to go with my new streamlined shape!

Actually painting my nails is also a good tip, as it is the finger nibbles that get to me, and I can't dip into a bowl of nibbles with freshly painted nails, can I? :D

And, funnily enough, I never get the urge to munch when I'm reading, its when I settle down to watch something on the box that it gets to me, so I guess you're right, I need to keep busy.

On the plus side, I had a girlie night out last night and succumbed to a couple of chocolate cake, but the scales are still heading down this morning, so looks like I got away with it! Phew! (I did same some calories up though, so I knew I had a bit of leeway)
