i don't but it provides me with a chuckle or two to see the anger seeping through the keyboard in her posts and her 'protectors'.Harry_Powell wrote: »GI've said before that I sometimes don't comment on carolt threads because if you disagree with her, you feel as if you're part of the 'bully gang' and feel a bit uncomfortable,
why should it stop you commenting on the threads she posts on?
the bullying accusation thrown at other users (me and ISTL) and sock puppets (Harry P) is only because they don't have any other defense in the argument. it's a very weak argument!
Graham did it on a thread yesterday accusing people of having mutliple user id's and this thread is a perfect example where Carol directly challenged various individuals on here, they responded and they then got accused of bullying.
but it's ok for Wookster and Mewbie to be going around insulting and hurling abuse (which amuses me) and nothing is said by the high and mighty defenders of the cult0 -
Again, to be fair, Wookster comes in for a lot of accusations that he's !!!!!!? and has had a few of his debates derailed by the brilliant "but you're !!!!!!?, so there!" retort.
I've never had any problem with either wookster or mewbie, aside from the fact that I don't understand why mewbie's got such a reputation for humour as his posts seem to have quite a bitter edge. I was assured via PM from one of the 'moderate regulars' that mewbs did used to be quite light-hearted and fun when house prices were crashing."I can hear you whisperin', children, so I know you're down there. I can feel myself gettin' awful mad. I'm out of patience, children. I'm coming to find you now." - Harry Powell, Night of the Hunter, 1955.0 -
Blimey, stalk city. Ignore the PM's about me being a leper, they have little basis in fact. Light hearted and fun is such a slur - like a poor version of Wogan on MSE.Harry_Powell wrote: »I've never had any problem with either wookster or mewbie, aside from the fact that I don't understand why mewbie's got such a reputation for humour as his posts seem to have quite a bitter edge. As for the term bullies. tbh @ssholes and morons would probably be more suitable.
But we don't want to drag the board into the gutter do we? Better to have endless misleading nonsense from the aforementioned.0 -

From the content of the PM, it seemed the person who mailed me was actually a big fan of yours mewbs but was full of regret that you seem to be on a 'perpetual downer'. I'm not going to say who it was, but it was someone on here who most people (including you) like n respect. The PM was in response to a post I made ages ago about how I 'didn't get you'.
As for your comment on @ssholes and morons... who do you class as those? Anyone who disagrees with carolt, anyone who disagrees with you, or what? I'd like to know to see if I fall into the Mewbie @sshole and/or moron classification.

nice way of putting it...
i wouldn't worry about that - you do a good job by yourself ...But we don't want to drag the board into the gutter do we?
here...
and hereStop press!! Pedantic tw@'s find a bone to gnaw away on. Much excitement and knicker wetting hysteria ensues.
and even hereIs the collection of motley trolls and aliases still trying to prove that houses are cheaper than they have ever been? Why on earth do they / it bother? If they are then f'ck off and buy some more. If they are not then !!!!!!.
all on one thread... you're doing a great job yourself dragging the board down...Unfortunately a large number of recent house buyers (or the same saddos with multiple aliases) come on here to confuse and befuddle the truth with made up nonsense and gross distortion and misrepresentation of sanity.0 -
Yeah. Sometimes I get fed up with the thanks fascism - got to keep it light and inoffensive. Not always possible especially when the eternal drip, drip, drip of....Harry_Powell wrote: »From the content of the PM, it seemed the person who mailed me was actually a big fan of yours mewbs but was full of regret that you seem to be on a 'perpetual downer'. Fall into? Climb out of would be more appropriate.Harry_Powell wrote: »As for your comment on @ssholes and morons... who do you class as those? That might be a joke. tbh it's just a bit of word play, it's what I do.0 -
Harry_Powell wrote: »To be fair, the accusation seems only ever to be thrown around when people disagree with carolt, I've seen some pretty 'heated debates' between julieq and "Mewbie and the bears" (an MSE version of "BJ and the Bears") but no one, least of all julieq, complained.
For me, it is about how personal the insults to Carolt sometimes become. I have read posts that have jeered at her income, her occupation, her family and her sexuality. That seriously isn't acceptable.
I equally dont like some of the nastier attacks on Hamish or a few other posters and have said so.
I couldn't give a tinkers damn whether someone thinks house prices are falling or rising. No one should be attacked here on a personal level.
