    Isn't it typical.

Laughing here. I remember last year, about this time or maybe a little later, all the abuse started to get chucked about, just like now. So fess up, is it that S.A.D has set in, or is it, under the skin, that one lot are worrying about their mortgage commitments and where the banks are going or the other lot not seeing the kind of house price drops they were expecting?

As for me, being an older poster, I take some comfort that my pension pot is a little healthier than last year this time, investments have improved a fair old bit but not a too good amount of interest on savings. Business is still quiet but less tax to pay.

Go careful guys, we might get deported to DT. Now that would be fun, not. Don`t fancy discussing the X factor me self.

It's whether the people you are having the conversation with understand what you're trying to say is the problem.

Hey, leave GD out of this. :)
  • Goodness what a lot of upset over nothing. Who cares if carolt was mistaken about what year house prices had gone down to in a certain street?

I've said before that I sometimes don't comment on carolt threads because if you disagree with her, you feel as if you're part of the 'bully gang' and feel a bit uncomfortable, I am guessing that Cleaver feels the same way with his earlier comments.

It's a shame though because what is the point of a discussion forum if you can't discuss opposing views with someone because you're worried that you'll be accused of bullying?

You seriously let that worry you? It stops you posting?
Could it not be that the "bully" accusation is flung around, on occasions, where it is not deserved?
So why let it worry you?

To be fair, the accusation seems only ever to be thrown around when people disagree with carolt, I've seen some pretty 'heated debates' between julieq and "Mewbie and the bears" (an MSE version of "BJ and the Bears") but no one, least of all julieq, complained.

However, that aside, it still remains that if you disagree with carolt you run the very real risk of being accused of being a bully/troll and your well thought out posts are dismissed out of hand. I already stand accused of being a 'sock puppet' and so I have had many of (what I feel) my pertinent and well constructed arguments dismissed in a single sentence consiting of "yeah, but you're Dithering Dad, so you're scum anyway'. This is a bit annoying to say the least when you've put in the time and effort into a debate. I certainly don't need to add in the accusation of being a 'carolt bully' as well.

The trouble is that carolt instigated debates are usually the most interesting ones, so its a shame to exclude myself just because I want to 'fit in' here. :)
