    Hi Char, I`ve just registered here and have just sent my first letter to Nationwide. Have you had any progress with them yet? My letter posted on 22nd June. I reckon I`m owed thousands over 6 years!£1500 in the last 16 months::eek: Looking forward to seeing some results too!

    HI VEE, NO NOT HAD ANY LUCK AT ALL SO FAR. I'M A BIT POOR AT THE MOMENT BUT IDON'T WANT NATIONWIDE TO THINK I HAVE GIVEN UP SO I WROTE TO MY MP WHO WROTE TO NATIONWIDE FOR ME. THEY ARE STILL REFUSING TO BUDGE AND THE MP HAS PASSED IT ONTO THE OMBUDSMAN. I'D RATHER HAVE TAKEN IT STRAIGHT TO SMALL CLAIMS NOW BUT I SUPPOSE IT CAN'T DO ANY HARM AS THEY ARE DOING ALL THE WORK FOR ME. PLUS IT GIVES ME LONGER TO SAVE UP THE COURT COSTS!!
    I DON'T KNOW IF THE OMBUDSMAN WILL BE ANY USE!

    Please don't type everything in capital letters - it makes your posts very hard to read.

    Hi char (and Moxie), I think its good that your MP got involved - never really thought of that - just to clarify - I`m 31 days now from dpa request and counting. 9 days to go before I file on moneyclaim officially but still no last 6 years details though - so dont know what I`m meant to be claiming! if you know what I mean. Although my letter from Sam Orams said that duplicate statements would be sent out in due course, there was another bit that makes me wonder!!! it asks about the folllowing;
    *the address of any branch other than the branch where you opened the account, which you have used on a regular basis
    *dates of your contact and details of other areas of the society which you have had dealings e.g. customer service team, lending control, member service, On-line bank
    *Any other information which will assist us in locating your personal information

    What is that all about? Is this a delay tactic?Help from anyone in the forum would be greatly appreciated.
    Wondering whats next. They are a slow bunch arent they.
    Will look again through the forums and see if anything helps in the meantime.
    Keep in touch and thanks Moxie for the vote of confidence.
    Am I missing something here???Please Help

    Hi chatta, any luck yet? Its took me a while to work it all out though the spreadsheets great - just had never used a spreadsheet before!Anyway it all adds up to a whopping £2266.00 wiithout the 8% interest! Am in Northern Ireland so the small claims court will only go up to £2,000 so I`ll have to split it. Am going away for a week soon so will post off my Prelim approach for payment letter before I go! Here goes and fingers crossed! Ps I got over £2K form the missold endowments - cant wait to get another lump from Nationwide. It`ll make up for those times when they left me with no mortgage money!!! Let me know how you`re getting on.

    Hiya,

    A friend of mine has taken on 3 financial organisations and won charges, the amount claimed running into the thousands. I know she banks with Nationwide so it may well have been one she claimed from. She is on holiday at present but I will ask her as soon as she returns and let you know.

    Don't see it as stressful. The stress is on them - they broke the law and you are making them pay for it.

    You will get your money back - take pleasure in giving them some stick back. They didn't hesitate to give it to you when you needed it the least!

    Surely when it gets to court they've shot themselves in the foot with that remark. Their charges are supposed to reflect their cost, so what other banks charge is irrelevant.
