it worked for me pebblespop! Don't be too disheartened - it happens to the best of us (me most likely tomorrow!) but we'll all get there in the end :D
  • Hiya all,

I've been reading the forums for a while, plucking up the courage to start SW and do it properly. I'm doing it from home as I've moved to a new area and too nervous to go to class by myself! But I think I've been doing ok - apart from this weekend!

Love the forum though, think it's a great way to keep going!

I made Diet Coke chicken the other night, a recipe I had seen on another forum board. It was surprisingly.....really nice!!

i just feel really bad about it. i only wanted to lose 1 stone and lost 5lb in the last two weeks. i suppose it was too good to be true!

have planned my meals for the next few days and will do my best with the scan bran and loads of water.

    Evening guys.

Just wondering... it's not just me that tries not to eat or drink much on WI day, is it? I've convinced myself that a cup of tea or a jacket potato lunch a few hours before WI will cost me lbs - though I've never tested the theory! Paranoia?? Or do you think it's true?

look at it this way, what do you do after weigh in???? do you go home and eat what you want? or are you good and stick to the plan??? I will happily confess that after Ive weighed in, my tea is very rarely slimming world friendly..... In my early days of SW, it was a big thing getting on the scales each week so it was kind of a release afterwards enjoying perhaps an unmeasured glass of wine perhaps a naughty pudding..... Ok so its not sticking to the plan but it would be have a treat or two.. start afresh the next day.

The reason I mention the above is because we had a stand in consultant last week who made a very interesting point which ok hadn't escaped me but which I didnt concern myself too much over.

She said that the moment we step off the scales, we were working towards stepping on the scales the following week and it was very easy to consume almost 200 syns.... in one evening after weigh in by drinking wine/pizza/take away curry/chinese etc / that big bar of chocolate. She also had a sign by her scales that said pretty much the same. This wont stop me having my after weigh in "treat" but I will be bearing it in mind.

In answer to your original question though, I eat as normal on my weigh in day. I eat what I want including sometimes a pub lunch of jacket spud and salad with cheese or beans. I weigh in at 6pm so I do try once Ive had my lunch to avoid munching anything else and try to limit my fluids but I dont worry too much although I certainly dont eat in the last hour before weighing. I also try to wear the same clothes each week.

I havent been keeping up to date with posts (have lots of catching up to do). I dont know how long you have been going to class but as well as weighing yourself at class each week, measure yourself. Members at our group who saw no result on the scales saw results with the tape measure. Bear in mind that if you have mainly green days (pasta/spuds etc), you need much more fluid to help move things along.....

look at your weight loss over the month rather than the individual week (hard I know). ensure you are eating enough, enjoy your syns too. perhaps do a food diary for your consultant or post your food menus on here so we can see if there is anything we can pick up on.

thanks for the support. this was my third weigh in and i lost 2lb, 3lb then put on 2.5lb.
i have been doing mainly extra easy but had two bad days on the last week so maybe thats why i put weight on.
i am not going out this week so will try so stick to the plan the best i can.

i will measure myself later to see if that shows any thing, i wore a skirt today which felt quite loose.

i have been feeling much healthier since being on the plan. i used to feel really ill on the way home from work every day. like i was starving and going to faint. i haven't felt like that since starting sw
  • 1/2lb on at weigh in tonight :( not happy as I don't think I'd done anything to deserve a gain this week... can I blame the scan bran?! LOL (had half a scan bran cake (5 syns) sat, the other half sun and scan bran/yog/fruit for brekkie on sun)

<sigh> nevermind just going to try concentrating on eating healthily, sticking to the plan and see what next week brings
    Mum of 7 (aged 14y to 1y)
loving SW - 5st off and counting! :j
