And (can't believe I'm actually spending the time to respond...) how about frightened of having a tired lorry or car driver slamming into the back of our poorly lit car? That a good enough reason...?;)
Congratulations for posting the stupidest reply yet though!
Nope, I think you've beat him to it with this one.
No one did slam into your car, and you've come out of it entirely unscatched.

Now if only I could think of something original to post. Damn this tiny brain of mine!:(0 -
Am I the only one utterly confused by what the OP is saying here?
Originally they were told it was a full tank and so didnt check the gauge and then after driving a few hundred miles the light came on to say it was running out of petrol, they didn't stop because the petrol stations were closed and as a result ran out of petrol at the side of the road.
Then when their stupidity at not checking the gauge was pointed out they suddenly said they DID check the gauge, at least twice.
Then when it was pointed out they should have noticed it was getting empty suddenly the gauge was still showing half full when the car conked out. Something not even mentioned to start with.
Seems to me that this story changes depending on what other people say0 -
Laurz121 are you a pessimist or a an optimist?
The way to tell is if you describe your fuel tank as being half empty or half full0 -

You know I would blame these moronic replies on kids coming out of school had it not been half term...
Look, to be honest people as much fun as this has been meeting you all, shooting fish in a barrel is only entertaining for so long.
The advice we were hoping to find is obviously beyond most of you so good luck gaining your shiny stars and bronze badges and upping you posts count by replying in post that you obviously haven't got clue about.
I'll finish work and go and play some football.
Keep collecting them there tesco vouchers!0 -

Honestly some people just shouldn't be allowed a driving licence.
breaking down on what could be a dangerous road is not funny , breaking down with disabled passengers is even worse . more so if they are not to mobile (wheel chair bound) .
i work as a patrol , and trust me it only takes one idiot on his phone , boy racer showing off etc etc and the repercussions don't bear thinking about .
i think you need to give your head a wobble pew pew pew lasers !
and perhaps think about getting some driver training ? or tell you what , you can come out with me for a night and see just what it is like to break down on as dark road with Lorry's hurtling past you as your trying to work !!!
also do try and give people with disabilities a bit of a brake , some of them are not as mobile as you are .22864 quid and counting , but now proud to be dealing with it :j

Thanks for that, finally someone that understands the situation we where in.
I can't be bothered to type anymore to be honest with you, i just wanted advise to see if we where being a little bit nice just accepting an apology or if we should be doing anything more
The hire company have already said its there fault and told us not to fill the car up when we return it. I think we will just leave it at that for now.0 -

try reading!!!! How many times, the company said it was FULL off Diesel the guage said it was FULL
it broke down with the gauge saying Half Full BUT IT WAS EMPTY
FAULTY GAUGE!!!!!0 -

If I fill the tank up to the top and drive till it drops halfway then it is half empty. If I have a near enough empty tank and I go to the station and put half a tank in then it is half full.
If I don't look at the gauge at all and the light comes on then I change my story to say I looked at it several times :rotfl:0
