Tbh I don't believe you Bbear.

I think you used all the diesel and ignored the light thinking it would get you home and wanted to ensure the AA didnt refuse to collect you.
    I'm assuming that's a joke?

It was showing full (I believe that has been mentioned before:rolleyes:) when we left. When we broke down it was showing half full.

you didn't mention filling up any where, so you managed to drive all the way to your destination and you either didn't check your gauge or looked at it and thought 'wow, its still on full, this car must be really economical'

W can get home in our car in just over half a tank, this was saying we had half a tank left but had none, so the hire company couldn't have put a full tank in

I have just had a phone call from then saying that it was there fault, there was a fault with the car and they can't apologise enough, we don't have to put any fuel in it when its returned which i think is right, i wasn't going to fill it up anyway

As you didn't pay for the hire what more do want? I hired a car and the fuel guage stuck on half, I drove 300 miles and it conked out, no petrol, obvious really but it was a BMW and I thought it had a big tank !! The AA came and got me going again, I got an apology and a free rental from Hertz. The Hertz place I use is inside an hotel, no petrol station for 3 or 4 miles, my theory is they fill them up, full flow, to the 1st click, drive back to base and though the guage reads full it is not full to the brim.

An apology really, that was all.

We got one eventually around 15 minutes ago but this was only after we rang motability and she rang them for a second time and asked them to phone us directly, rather than just a 'let them know were sorry'.

I think if anyone had been in our situation with the children they would be a little more understanding. Right now it feels like everyone is just telling us to get over it and it's all our fault anyway.

    Wow.

Tell you what, have another read through. Or, at this point, it may be worth getting someone else to do that for you.

From your OP it does seem it was your fault, but irrespective of that you posted asking if you should accept an apology or do anything else.

You presumably have now accepted the apology, so isn't the issue closed now, and time to get over it and move on?

Although i don't think they should ring right now as i am livid that they put my families lives at risk!

What risk? Risk of being frightened of the dark, and getting a bit cold?

Honestly some people just shouldn't be allowed a driving licence.

I take it you've run out of Jeremy Kyle re-runs to watch? and I'm doubting by the 'keyboard warrior stance you've taken' your even old enough to have a driving license?

And (can't believe I'm actually spending the time to respond...) how about frightened of having a tired lorry or car driver slamming into the back of our poorly lit car? That a good enough reason...?;)

Congratulations for posting the stupidest reply yet though!
