evening all :hello:
earlier in the week I said that i wouldn't need to buy anything this week following my home delivery shop from Mr T......
I decided to go back to keeping an exact record of everything I spend so that I could see exactly where all my money was going and almost 7 days later, Ive managed to spend £80.01. To be fair, some of the money that has been spent this week is for a christmas hamper Im doing for a friend for christmas but things like the sticky toffee pudding I bought today, the veg pot I bought for lunch earlier in the week/the smoothie drink were all unnecessary (spur of the moment) spends and I hope by keeping proper track, I will be able to see where money is being wasted.
Ive also decided that I am going to save a little bit each month to put towards next year's xmas.
This probably isnt the thread for it but if anyone can tell me good mood foods, I would be very grateful if you would share. Ive been feeling down recently - have no reason to be - and think that by changing certain things in my diet, i can hopefully feel better. thanks in advance.
JADEK hats off to you. when me and my partner got our place, I did no such thing as budget!! re taking your own lunch, why not designate one day as buy lunch day and take your own lunch the rest of the week that way you won't feel guilty.
Hats off to you all especially those who post such low budgets. I just dont know how you do it.0 -

Lots of hugs for Rowsew and your family - we've just been through it with DD and DS, they both had Swine Flu and DD had a chest infection and is Asthmatic too - it was a fun time had by all for about 8 days, all ok now and back at school.

Evening All.
I would like to declare at £90.89 for November - not as impresive as it looks as I was away until 14th:rotfl:
I will plan to allow £175.00 in December which will include all extras for the festive season. Won't need too much but there are a few thngs we'll get just out of habit - chocs, ice cream, pringles, you get the picture:D
I will see you all on the new thread and welcome to all the newbies - I've been on the GC for almost 2 years now and I can't imagine how much I've saved in that time.
Thanks to Helen and roseieben for all their hard work - have we got any news of MrsM?0 -
I'm declaring at £290.46 for November so very pleased :j It has really made the difference this month buying the Super 6 at Aldi for us. If it hasn't been a similar price or less in fruit & veg I haven't bought it. It's actually made us all appreciate the different fruit & veg we eat instead of looking in the fridge and thinking 'oh no, grapes again'
like we used to.
I'd like to be put down for £400 for December please. It's a five week month for me and I have the Christmas lunch things to buy but not much extra as we tend to eat the same things as normal over the holidays.
Good luck for the next month folks! I'm buying Tesco vouchers with my savings this year towards next Christmas so It'll keep me focused

Hi, didn't quite manage in November!!! but can you put me down for £70 for December. Thanks X'The road to a friends house is never long'0
-
Well November ended on £312.........we had a target of £350.
I am very pleased and we really do have more money left over at the end of this month.:T
Well done and thank you everyone.0 -
Is there a December challenge? If so how does it work to account for Christmas........all tips welcome. Usually my spend at Christmas is a lost cause,.0
-
Well over this months target, and still 3 days to go!!
Planning to make the next two days NSDs, but can see "having" to get stuff on Monday...though hoping to make do until Tuesday! Have started a list with mysupermarket...Mr T still wins ATM, and I do have plenty of delivery vouchers, a delivery on the 1st then!
Have spent the evening reading through this thread, very inspirational and puts my spending excesses to shame..So I will spend time this weekend to plan the next month's menus and eat much more frugally...or at least try!
Night, night, everyone

Morning all
Just to update the spends, haven't been keeping up with the posts as my dad has been taken poorly and was taken to hospital in the night last Saturday but later discharged but going for heart investigations on 8 December. So shopped yesterday at MrA and spent £62.66 - will need to spend a little more, meat and veg for tomorrow (going to cook roast at mum's as she's getting a little worn down with it all) and they can spend some time with the children.
Still haven't really got to grips with Xmas apart from ordering and paying for fresh meat Christmas hamper from my butcher (have 1 every year, it's fab). Have been doing HM bread and hob nobs and today will make some more and choc chip cookies for the lunchboxes (if they last that long!).
Not really too much else to going on, keep safe and well everyone, and hugs to those that need them.
