    Morning

kittikins - Happy birthday to your DD, sounds like she had a wonderful day.

    Pleasures for yesterday:
    1. RTC crumpets for breakfast
    2. Walk at lunchtime with a couple of people from work, nice to get some fresh air and meant I didn't spend any money. May need to make this a regular lunchtime feature.
    3. NSD as took lunch to work with me
    4. Tasty dinner of sausage and pasta soup with some left over garlic bread
    5. A strange one this, DD didn't have a nightmare last night which I was expecting her to have. She got upset last night about something on the news and it would normally lead to a nightmare but she slept through. Fingers crossed this continues.

Hugs to all who need them

    Morning all!

Glad I helped clarify things Caterina! And may you find plenty of vouchers that you can use!

    My five pleasures:

    1. Gas being delivered, yippee piping hot water and heating again! Then discovering that it wasn't making it from the tank to the house, phoned the company and an engineer talked me through resetting it. Loved that my neighbours just said 'hi' and had a brief chat whilst I was kneeling on the front lawn in my jammies, with my head down under the ground whacking a tight cover with a hammer!

    2. Got chocclare's chinese chicken in the oven for dinner this eve for the kids, so quick and easy, and they love it!

    3. Lovely customers yesterday at work, including one lady who knew babydaddy when they were children, found out all sorts of funny things about him!

    4. My bestfriend grabbing me some containers from work to use for our homebrew - big oil ones for the beer and cider and smaller ones for wine and liquers! ds has big plans for all the stuff we're making this summer, so don't think our current brewing equipment will be quite enough, so free stuff is much welcomed!

    5. Sun is shining, and I've just found a Lush bath bubbles bar hidden at the back of the kids' bathroom cupboard, so I'm going to have a lovely bubbly bath in mo!

Have a good day all xx

kittikins:glad your dd had a lovely day.....6 is a lovely age to be!

Quite a bit cooler & duller today, which suits me fine.....had a cardigan & my socks on! Most autumnal

1.Took dd2 to school & walked back (up very hilly way ) with neighbour, so nice to chat & exercise at same time!

2.Had a lovely chat with my neice for a good hour this morning before she went to bed!

3.Was really lethargic today & did not do much but nothing really needed doing! Had a wee snooze on sofa this afternoon, which isn't like me! I really, really wanted cake/biscuits/chocolate ....or all 3 would have done but I resisted!

4.Kids came in from school & we got bus into next town. Had something to eat & bought a birthday gift for DD1's friend (all reduced of course!), had a wander round some shops & got bus home.

    5. Home & have been baking! Made plain cupcakes & rhubarb & ginger muffins and a banana loaf is stil in oven......however I won't be able to tell you if they taste as delicious as they smell.....I had an orange instead!

DD1 (14) got attacked by a crow on the way to school this morning, she was seriously freaked out by it (as I would have been) she thought she was being kidnapped as it flew into the back of her hair !
    Wee soul!

    Hi all

Ladyhawk, I have pmd you re. E/SE London, however if you are not too far from London check out the OS Meet Up thread, we are meeting in Lewisham (and then Blackheath) on Sat. 9th April, if you can make it it would be great to meet you.

Kittikins, late birthday wishes to your DD, glad that you had such a good day! Also good that the celebrations continue, she will learn early to celebrate her birthday in style and at great length e.g. nothing like an excuse for a loooonnnng party! :-)

    Mummysaver, thank you!

Only online to buy sheets for DD's bed, the last ones got ripped and are only good as rags. See you all later for pleasures, have a good day. x

    Edited at 6:45pm

Since I was the last here I might as well continue on the same post to write up my pleasures for today:

1 - Breakfast with DD and DS again!

2 - Outing with DD, I had a stupendous offer on the Internet to buy bulk Italian deli stuff and we went shopping together, in the end we decided to concentrate on Grana Padano (the slightly cheaper, less aged version of Parmesan) and between vouchers and a bit of extra money we went for a quarter wheel, nearly 5Kg, at a truly amazing price. We now have parmesan for the next year or so (it freezes well). Plus we spent enough to qualify for two vouchers for a free 3 course meal (well, it is a buy a meal get one free because you can use only 1 voucher per table, but still a great offer!).

3 - DD got 70% on her Uni presentation, so we celebrated and I bought us lunch at the Italian deli (bl**dy expensive that was! But worth it).

4 - Free fancy cappuccino for DD with my decaf coffee at Starbucks with an internet voucher.

5 - DH told me that he really enjoyed the salad I made him for lunch. He is going low-carb with me and seems to be ok with it, so I get company and support (but I have to think about, plan and make menus for 2 - a mixed pleasure, this).

Have a good night everybody x
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

    Hello everyone,

Caterina - thanks for the PM. I'll try to make the 9th, but it is my brothers birthday so not sure what he will have planned. Probably nothing/sleep as his baby will be a maximum of 3 weeks old then.

    1) No senior management around today so everyone was ever so slightly giddy.

    2) Message from the Guy in Dubai about when he is coming back next (only a month to go)

    3) Nice thank you note from my colleague who is undergoing chemo... I have arranged for flowers to be sent each time she has treatment as a little surprise.

    4) My nice colleague J took me out fo dinner and put it on his expenses (I had a 241 voucher).

    5) J also lent me his car... and 9 weeks on mine in still in the garage (18 weeks in total that I have been carless!!)

    6) As there is nothing on TV tonight I will be retiring to bed early.

    Night night

    L

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Ladyhawk, what a lovely kind friend you are ((hugs)) to your friend

    1. MrA and DD ganged up on me this morning, they were teasing me rotten and I loved every second :):)
    2. Had a lovely playdate and mummy chat time this afternoon with some new friends
    3. MrA had an important hospital appointment that went well today, phew!
    4. We've provisionally booked a holiday, woo hoo!!!
    5. Lovely emails with an old friend, haven't seen her in ages, so good to catch up with her news.
    6. Feedback from one of the mummies who met MrA yesterday: "he's lovely" (I know, but nice to have it confirmed by one of my best buddies, lol)
    7. Feeling really fantastically happy and relaxed again today. Yippee!

    Evening

    Pleasures for today:
    1. Toasted crumpets for breakfast, yum
    2. £3 luncheon vouchers in the post for a survey.
    3. DD made fish pie at school yesterday, unfortunelty it is a dish no one in our house eats so took it into work where it went down very well and lots of compliments for DD.
    4. Was going to be naughty and buy a baguette from the deli today but in waitrose they had cooked chickens for £1.99 so bought one and a french stick. Worked out cheaper that the £3 baguette and several more meals:money:
    5. Had a meeting about DD's trip to Morrocco with school tonght, it looks amazing (not jealous really). Feel a lot better about her going now. Also one of DD's friends has been bullied quite badly recently  and her dad had a quiet word with the boy concerned as he was at the meeting, don't think too much more bullying will be going on:D

Hugs to all who need them
