Good evening all and welcome to Tofu Tanya. Missed yesterdays due to a friend calling at 10pm and staying on the phone for two hours. I can't even remember what we were talking about. Mine for the last day or so,
1. Long phone conversation with a good friend.
2. Loving my car! It's fab.
3. DD1 upstairs singing christmas songs at the top of her voice - currently Silver Bells.
4. Feeling REALLY positive and oddly enough not missing a certain person AT ALL!! What a difference a week makes.
5. Some shameless flirting with old friend - talk about an ego boost.
Dundeedoll - much more than coffee was mentioned.:D
Love to all. X0 -
Good evening.For today:
1 On holiday all this week.
2 Had a facial and some reflexology, both of which I pay for on a subscription,so at a reduced price. Both very relaxing.
3 Bought some lovely cashmere fingerless gloves at a discount for myself and for my sister.
4 A nice cup of tea and some cake when I got home.
5 Had leftovers for tea,so just had to heat it up.TBH I've got enough to last me the whole week.
Caterina I forgot to say that I had a good laugh at the tale of the London boys selling whisky. What a gormless bunch!I've also recorded the BBC documentary 'Mincemeat',might watch it tonight.
Kittikins hope your daughter is on the mend.
Ampersand How frustrating to lose a post.Hope you've had some success on e-Bay.
Juliapenguin sorry to read about your Mum.
Introuble28 'Down and Out in Paris and London' is a George Orwell book that really makes me count my blessings.A very good read.Do you see a resemblance between your workplace and 'Animal Farm'?!
Tealady Hope you get the plumbing sorted out sooner rather than later.
Off to have another cuppa.Wishing you all a cosy evening x0 -
Thanks for the DD get well soon wishes, she's turning the corner, managing to keep water down and had some fruit for breakfast as well, yay!! Not the best of days though as I'm feeling quite ropey now but cannot "allow myself" to get ill before Wednesday as have lots going on tomorrow
1. NSD - this not getting out of the house lark seems to be the only way I can do it!
2. Postie brought me a good book I'd ordered and forgotten about on Amazon
3. Postie also brought me the present for my bro and his girlfriend that a kind MSEr went and got in person and posted to me, saving me the company's hugely immoral p&p fees
4. Being able to work from home and look after DD at the same time (helped that she slept a lot this afternoon)
5. Knowing I've got Operation Mincemeat recorded to watch once DD is in bed tonight0 -
Briefly - promise!
1. Just awaiting carrot cake from oven for tomorrow at Charity shop - smelling scrummy.
2. Arrived late at Bus Stop and really thought it must have gone, but along it came shortly after - didn't need to rtn for car after all. Felt sun on face and listened to pheasants as I waited.
3. Enjoying Michael Portillo's 'The Things We Forgot to Remember- v.g. We are poles apart on red and Blue terms, but he is an engaged, knowledgeable and pleasing programme maker/presenter.
4. Caught up with 'The Now Show' on iplayer before that.
5. Managed to get 2x 3 lidded crate sets on exceptional offer at Mr T. Needed for fairs/brocantes/vide-greniers etc.
6. Looking forward to more catch up from bed in a moment, not forgetting cake, as I did Garrow's Law, apparently on last night....and AR....and then cricket all through night.
7. Ordered A's nails for France - love poking about in this widely renowned Aladdin's cave of a hardware/blokey-things store. Something of the folding shovel pleasure is kicking in here.
8. Had calves liver[reduced from £8.60>43p] with sweet potato on a crispy salad bed this evening - strange maybe, delicious definitely.
9. Thinking of Aless's post, googled 'Make your own peanut butter' and will do some for A.
10. Found ebay item? when I came in tonight, so with neighbour as model for garment, we worked out the answer. She is a truly good person, selfless and long-suffering. Both our 'others' have had strokes, if differently - we can speak with each other as is not necessarily possible elsewhere. She is very special.
So it's a 10-y sort of 5...and I promised.
Sparrer - much love to you, when you get back to reading/writing here, it will be as fresh as the moment I hit that 'send' button........like nowCAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

I feel the two are connected0 -
1) Got paid double time, a bonus and petrol money for the dinner party I prepared a couple of weeks ago for 1 of my clients (plus I got a bottle of pricey wine, a box of Thorntons and a HUGE Stilton which I made Stilton & Broccoli soup with)
2) Did a fabulous 180 skid going up a windy (that's as in twisty - NOT breezy :rotfl:) steep hill this morning but no real drama and carried on.
3) Had a real 'down' day spent mostly in tears yesterday but got a lovely text from someone.
4) My woodburner keeping the lounge toasty.
5) Wrapped nearly all Christmas prezzies. :j
6) Now 'Kevin the grunting teenager' has decided he doesn't want to spend Christmas Day with me and is going to stay with his dad I will be going to my friend's for Christmas lunch..........she's a fabulous cook too
7) Got a friend coming over for dinner tomorrow - Pork Chops, Oven rosemary potatoes with Mediterranean roast vegetables. And then.......................

Ah dundeedoll, you are so kind to say that, but I am sure your life is not boring, nor dull or lonely, it is just that I elaborate a lot about the stuff that happens to me! Also living in London I try to make the best of all free and cheap opportunities, and also because I am now no longer working (and before that I was only working part time) I have a lot of time to waste on my "trivial pursuits"!Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
I am looking forward to seeing you in less than 6 weeks, Caterina!
I loved your post about the day you went and had lunch in Soho, powdered your nose at Fortnum & Masons and then walked through St James/Green Park and then had cream tea in front of the fire and had dinner cooked by DD.................what a day!!Nicotine Free since 01.08.2010 :j:j:j

Evening all,
Just a quick one as I tired!
1) Got a little lie in this morning as I only had to be in London for 11am.
2) The men who came round to remove my hedge finished the job this morning and my garden looks a lot bigger without it!
3) Meeting my friend A (the baby obsessed friend) for a coffee this afternoon for a bit of a catch up.
4) NSD (lunch was provided for my London meeting - I snaffled all the left over chocolate, fruit and biscuits)
5) Did a Reverbe and found 20p on the train home
Nighty night all - sleep well.
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Hello (again) to you lovely people,
I've been absent from here for ages, although have been posting on other threads, and have just realised that I am sliding downhill quickly into a pit of misery and gloom. I need to do something about this fast so I thought of joining in here again if you'll have me back.
My five for today, typed through tears (for no good reason other than I think I need to cry).
1. Took DS2 to the garden centre for tea and we wandered through the expensive section with wreaths for front doors and worked out how we were going to make ours for free again this Christmas.
2. Thanks to some help on another thread, have managed to get the front door thermal blanket curtain running smoothly on its track again which is very satisfying.
3. Have managed to find cheaper versions of most of the remaining presents I need to buy on Amazon so have saved some money there.
4. Caught up on the Archers from earlier.
5. Got lots of washing done and almost dried.
Thanks for the recommendation about 'Operation Mincemeat' Caterina - it's on my list.
Sweet dreams
B x0
