    Good evening all!

Well this is the first time I have had a moment to sit down and have some quiet since Friday!!

My pleasures collected from the last few days:

    1) Looking at 11 houses - not so nice but we did find one we reeeeaally like so second viewing is tomorrow!!
    2) OH's mum (also known as wicked witch of the west) bought us lunch on Sunday (after we spent all morning sorting her rubbish out ready for her house mover) -oooh I sound so bitter!!
    3) Found a single feather duvet that was lurking in the airing cupboard, so put it in top of our mattress, under a mattress protector and a sheet to protect us from prickly feather ends - it makes the bed sooooo much warmer!
    4) Had some lovely walks with the doglet over the weekend
    5) Watched some old Monarch of the Glen episodes over the weekend - oh how I used to LOVE that programme!
    6) Some truly scrummy sausage/pea/onion/sweetcorn/gravy casserole thingy with mash past night
    7) Sitting in my PJs by the fire relaxing after teaching the students from hell this afternoon knowing that tomorrow is another day.

Planning to be an admin monster at work tomorrow and get LOADS of marking and prep done as only teaching one group as the others are on a trip.

Enjoy your evenings all and lots of love and hugs to all who need them xx

  • I'm back again, have my five for today:

1 Have almost managed to clear the piles of paperwork on the sitting room table.

    2 A NSD.

3 Made another Christmas pudding in the slow cooker.

4 I've just realised that I haven't bought any Diet Coke this month.

    5 Went for a run.

Kitchenbunny I only seem to get colds that last a day at most. One day this week I was sneezing a lot,and then it passed. That's hopefully all I'll get this winter.(I'm not complaining).
I followed a recipe, which said to add on two hours to the cooking time if using the slow cooker
so my 400ml pudding took six hours instead of four. It's from this blog:

Caterina crystal drops is a term used in my cat mad family whenever the cat starts drooling. It always seems to form as a little droplet first....Mind you,it's a sign of a happy cat!

Wishing you all a good evening x

    Evening all,

hope you have had a good evening - everyone seems to have had a productive day.

    1) Went to see the councellor this morning and I think it was really good. She didn't seem to think it will take too many sessions to face my demons which is good since I am paying for them privately!

    2) Yummy lunch - fresh bread with hummus

    3) Arranged to meet up with a friend for a coffee next week. We have really drifted apart since she had her first child. She confirmed that she is pregnant again (due in May) which is such good news for them both and hopefully she will stop being so obsessve about her son (yes - I am a b!tch but she is so over the top that she annot talk about anything else)

    4) Spoke to said friend briefly who then emailed me to say how nice it was to hear my voice

    5) Left the office half an hour early to hit the charity shops near the London office... sadly they were extortionately overpriced so I didn't buy anything. But it meant that I managed to get an early train home, which meant I got a seat.

    night night

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

    Evening all.

Ladyhawk - thanks for the explanation about the smoked salmon - that does make a bit more sense now! :o

Frith - it's goo that you've found a builder you like and who has given you a good quote. Hope it all goes well when he starts work on Friday.

Ginger Snap - hope your observed teaching went OK today.

beachbaby - enjoy your new car! :)

I've been trying to think of five pleasures for today and I confess I'm really struggling - it hasn't been a particularly bad day, just one with nothing particularly good or bad happening.

    1) I had to get four birthday cards at lunchtime (I'm in charge of the birthday card rota for the department) and, despite the scarcity of birthday cards at this time of year, I managed to get all except one.

    2) I left the cat out in the garden while I went to post a letter - I was gone all of 5 minutes, but he greeted me as if he'd been outside in the cold for hours!

    3) One of my favourite cold weather meals for dinner tonight - squash, bean and chorizo stew.

    4) Knowing I don't have to go out again today, so I can just curl up under my fleece blanket. :)

    Have a nice evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

    My 5 for today:

    1. My tyre was flat again, went and put air in, but didn't work, drove to garage got a retread put on for £20. Mum and Dad gave me £20 to pay for it when i went to see them later today.

    2. Took Mum shopping, she brought the Christmas meat and poultry for the freezer 2 x large pieces of beef, l x large piece of gammon, 2 x frozen turkey crowns, cumberland sausages and bacon rashers. We eat at my parents over Christmas and enjoy their hospitality at their request, of course! So lots of lovely food and warmth t look forward too.

    3. When we got to Mr. M's Mum gave me a lovely surprise. Mum and Dad had already brought me a halogen oven, some nightwear and other stuff for Christmas and today she handed me £100 Mr. Morries stamps on a card!

    4. The chocolate covered marzipan bar i just demolished :-D

    5. My lovely dog has been CRAZILY affectionate to me all evening. As i type this she is staring at me and has her nose about 2 inches from my face LOL!

    Evening

    Pleasures for today:
    1. Walked to and from work today so no travel costs. Plus the exercise is good for me.
    2. Good day in the office with a very open talk with my boss about the project I am working on and the issues I am having with it.
    3. Buying some lovely chocolate in M&S which was heavily reduced, yummy
    4. We had parents evening tonight which we were not really looking forward too but managed to get quite a few issues sorted and a lesson that DD was really strugling with had a very positive report with her latest mark being an A-. I thought she was going to cry, there was certainly a lip quiver there as she thought she would have a F:j:j.
    5. Being organised for dinner as had cooked some bolognaise sauce last night so just needed to reheat tonight and cook some pasta.

Hugs to all who need them

    Morning everyone!
I'm up too late - I'll regret it in the morning when I have to get up for work :o
    My pleasures today:-
    1) Good nights sleep - woke up feeling refreshed and had a good day at work
    2) Bit the bullet and applied for voluntary redundancy - the firm is making cutbacks due to some of their local Gov't funding being cut. If I get it, I plan to take a couple of months off before pursuing other ventures
    3) Lovely fuss off puddy tat when I got home
    4) Another half lb off at WW weigh in - now lost a total of 11lbs :j
    5) One more day at work then the 5 day weekend begins.

Must get to bed! Hope all are well,
    Pam x

Thank you all so much for your kind wishes, the chill is being held at bay with various potions and hasn't gone to my lungs so far :D

    briefly my 5
    1. Got up at 9am to beautiful sunshine so hung the laundry out for a blow
    2. Drilled holes in 6 of the Mr M flower tubs and planted the raspberry canes, of which there were 7, not 6 :D
    3. put the new strawberries in their pots on a tray in the shed as they're not looking too happy. Hopefully getting them indoors will perk them up
    4. Made a hearty beef stew in the sc. I didn't read the label on the butter beans in time, it says to soak overnight :(. If I soak them the whole packet then boil them as instructed I'm wondering if I can I freeze them? Just thinking it would save time and fuel
    5. Read the whole newsletter (which I have to admit I don't always do :o) and found I could apply for an energy switch, and have someone else come from my water supplier and fit various gadgets free of charge to save water.

(((hugs))) to everyone, night night n sweet dreams
