Frith - just want to say we'll be with you tomorrow. Believe that please - just know that the thoughts of so many here will be absolutely surrounding you, making an impenetrable barrier against ex-.
However things go, you know we'll all be waiting here, this time tomorrow, or whenever you are ready.
Just think how different it is this time...with Mr N. in the equation.

Thanks for that Pam, I'm thinking of going it alone as I'm not great walking into a room full of people I don't know.
Frith keeping you in my thoughts and prayers as always
Welcome back ampersand

my 5
1. My lovely friend send me a text! Bless him, those few words really must have taken an effort, and it's so lovely to have something I can read rather than just remembering what we said on the phone.
2. nsd
3. Beautiful rain this morning giving me time to peel and cook more donated apples and pears
4. Beautiful, warm sunshine this afternoon giving me time to trim back and prune all that should be pruned at this time of year
5. Postie brought me a facial wash. They must have given up sending me the 'age defying' moisturisers and gone back to the drawing board :rotfl:
Night night, sleepy tight

Frith thinking of you today and hope all goes well.0 -
Frith - fingers crossed for you in Court today. Hope it goes well. And sorry about your neck. That must have knocked you back. Do hope they'll be able to do something about it. At least you know the reason for your suffering now. It may not help but perhaps new surgical techniques may be able to do something for you.0

Hi all,
Sorry for having disappeared again, lots of work work work - more details in my pleasures!
Sparrer, sorry to hear that you have been under the weather, hope you are feeling better now. Good news about your friend's message, bless him.
Ladyhawk, it is so annoying when management ignore their workers! Well done for walking away!
Frith, best wishes for your vertebrae but also for your court case, if you are being represented - albeit temporarily - by a top barrister (slumming it...LOL) you stand a very good chance, I hope!
Hi to all others, a belated welcome to Pam and any other new ones that have joined while I was away, (((HUGS))) to all who need them.
Here are a few pleasures for the last couple of days:
1 - Since my return from holiday I have managed to put in 3 days of 8 hours at work, making it a total of 24 hours - since I am meant to work a 17 1/2 hour week I have accumulated some extra hours and a bit of respite now, meaning that for the next 3 weeks I can afford to go in only 2 days per week, I might even manage to carve a 1-day week at the end of the 4 week (the flexi-time scheme is worked on a 4-weekly basis):j.
2 - Work is interesting, I am doing mostly what I love doing anyway (fact finding, internet research), so it is no hardship and the people, so far, seem very pleasant.
3 - When I go to work I can go nearby to a lovely little grocery shop to buy excellent Italian bread loaves for a very reasonable price.
4 - Yesterday, in two separate occasions, two separate Italian men told me that I look much younger than my age (one said early 40s the other said in my thirties!!!!). It is not that I go fishing for compliments but on both occasions, for some reasons, I mentioned my children, they asked what age they are, I said 21 year old twins and they both expressed surprise - so I revealed my age and got the compliment (well perhaps it IS a way of fishing, so what!:rotfl:)
5 - I am consolidating what could potentially become a friendship with an Italian colleague, she will come here to have dinner with me, I promised we would use my Italian veg from the allotment and the garden and she is very excited about this (she has not been back in Italy for years and misses some of the foods). I have a nice crop of borlotti beans (for Fagioli all'uccelletto) and Cime Di Rapa (to dress pasta with). She is also vegetarian like us, so we are both looking forward to an Italian meal together.
6 - This morning I am going to attend the MacMillan Coffee Morning in a community centre nearby, they raise money for the MacMillan Cancer Nurses and lots of local people make homemade cakes and other delicious treats, and it all goes to a very good cause.
7 - Then at 12 noon I am going with DD and DS to see Eat, Pray, Love, the film with Julia Roberts that comes out today. I read the book (twice!) and loved it. Looking forward to it.
8 - I am in the process of putting through my first Approved Foods order!
Have a great day everybody xxxFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Hello again everyone.
Just popping in quickly as I have been reading the thread lately and not posting. Thank you to whoever posted asking after me. I have had a lot happening. For ages I had pc issues but lately it has been that I have really not had many pleasures to report. Life continues to get harder by the day. Both the washing machine and the fridge freezer have broken and so we must live our lives without these as we cannot afford to repair or replace these. There remains the very real possibility that I will become homeless soon as my flatmate who is not working but not being granted any benefit cannot afford to meet his mortgage payments.
I don't mean to moan as I am certainly well aware that my problems are nothing and that there are a great many people on this planet in much worse situations than myself for whatever reason and so I choose not to think about things and not to post on here much about what is happening. I am doing so now just to let ppl know that I am still ok and have been missing only due to a lack of pleasures to report.
I hope everyone else is well and thank you once again to anyone who "missed me"- that is really touching and sweet, thanks. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -

:T:j:)Reverbe!:):j:T
It's so good just to hear from you!
Every time any one of us finds a coin, it's a reverbe...4 x 1p for me since last week:D. You are thus immortalised, whether or not you post.
No chance if anything Freecycle-y for w/m or f/f?
Please stay nearby and tell us what's happening for you.
It becomes too easy to read from the wings when feeling there's litle positive in each day, and that becomes another, then another....and so posting at all becomes a harder thing to re-start.
But you do have people here who think of you and empathise.
I think we should make this an automatic Pleasure Given - that whatever the post, its being written and much read is always beneficial.
When there seems nothing else to post, let it be that.

Ooh, yes, I'm happy to see Reverbe on here! You have indeed been missed, and I'm sorry that things are not so great for you. Here's to them looking up soon
Not been on much myself - life is busy getting everything ready for my trip (see signature). Less than 1 week left at work!
So I'm sorry that I've not been keeping up with the thread; I hope everyone is well. Recent pleasures for me:
1. Some yummy meals out, including (of course) curry!
2. Working my way through the "to do" list and knowing that I'm on track with everything.
3. Visiting friends who have a cat - since I gave up fostering cats I miss having furry four-legged housemates so much!
4. Going out with friends and meeting a fanciable man who I first met a couple of years ago - shame I'm leaving the country in 10 days...
5. Reading some great online fiction.Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
Hello!
Just got back from court. Thank you all very much for the good wishes :-)
It went at least as well as could be expected. My solicitor could not go but her husband was there and was very sensible and thorough. It was quite funny because twice the judge went off on a tangent and started discussing "judgy" things with him - like the new recording system that uses CD's!
Anyway, everything has been put back until December :-) And the judge made a very passionate speech about how the ex should sign the PPI form that I gave him (to get PPI back) "for the benefit of his children" and how "from one father to another it would the Right Thing to do". And he signed it and I have emailed it to the Financial Ombudsman and will be getting £3500 knocked off my final debt!
So nothing has changed at all, for now.
I'm going to have a quick nap now then pick the boys up from my friend's house. Going out with MrN tonight - he's really going through it as well with work and a poorly son so goodness knows that state we'll be in! We don't know where to go, neither of us has actually been out for years and we're in the middle of nowhere here so will have to think of somewhere to drive to.
Hope everyone is having a good Friday. :-)0
