Good to have you back Savingforoz. I've been wondering how you were getting on. When do you disappear off on your amazing trip?

Early October, Ladyhawk - makes me smile every time I think about it - which is something I do a lot! :D

    Love the pigeon, Parsonswife!

    My 5 for yesterday:

    1. A more settled day at work, without the tension of Thursday - plus it was Friday, so I could leave at 4pm.

    2. "The Mentalist" on TV in the evening.

    3. Getting an email from Mr Handsome, with his phone number.

    4. Yummy spicy pasta for tea - tasty and filling.

    5. Cuddles with Fudge and Willow.

Are Olliebeak and Reverbe still around, does anyone know?
Life is not a dress rehearsal.

Hi everyone, just thought I'd pop in and give my 5 pleasures for the last few days. It has been busy so I'm jotting them down where I can. Here goes:

    1. A nice cup of coffee.
    2. I won another lippy from the Flake thing - can't wait for those to arrive. :)
    3. My 2 cherry tomato plants are covered in tomatoes - ok so they're not ripening, but it's a start.
    4. The house is clean. I've washed the floor and sides, hoovered, tidied the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom, cleaned between the tiles (etc). I feel accomplished! There's still loads to do. Is it common to feel so "must clean, must clean?"
    5. My subscription mag arrived today with a free sample of face wash and moisturiser. Yay for freebies!
    6. Clearing out the top box of the wardrobe. I found my hot water bottle and cleared out some space for lots of hoarding :D My sister is going to bring me some of the loo roll on offer at Lidl so I'll put that up there - we'll probably not run out this year. Found a bottle of hair conditioner that dated back to 2003 - ooh-err! Sadly I don't think it'll still be useful so I had to chuck it.

So, later I've got some batch-cooking to do later. Mum's coming over and we'll be making a big batch of Cornish pasties - then they'll go into the freezer. Might do some bacon & egg pasties too - I quite fancy giving those a go! I don't have a recipe, I just feel like trying to make them. Bacon, egg and cheese (basic quiche mixture) in a pasty. I wonder if that would work. Also I'm going to make some Aero cookies (thanks to Mr Ts offer of a big bar for 50p) and perhaps some muffins to go in the freezer. I fancy a baking day! Hope everyone has a good day.

My apologies for being AWAL the last few weeks, another chest infection has landed me im hospital. I hope I'm allowed back in the fold.

Lots of lovely little pleasures over the last few weeks. The only down side is the ward fire extinguisher jumped off the wall and bit me on the arm.

1 GP was very gentle when she re-admitted me last Friday.
    2. the journey through A & E, AAU and on to the lung ward was not too traumatic.
    3. Getting used to my notebook, and getting it sorted, learning a new programme
    4. The IV antibiotics seem to have started kicking in.
    5. Making friends with another lady on the ward who has similar probs to myself, lives local to me and we have a similar outlook on our condition.
    6. Blood sugers started coming down now steroids are reduced.
    7. Finding I can use some of the healthier salad options from the hospital resteraunt to suppliment the ward food.

Lots of love to those who need it Woggle

    1. Had a bit of a lie in this morning. Was feeling shattered.
    2. Had a lovely bath and a hairwash. Felt so much better.
    3. Made a ploughman's type lunch for DH and I, sliced ham, picalilli, baby toms, sliced cheddar, boiled egg, gherkins, pickled onions and water biscuits.
    4. DH has made a start on stripping the wallpaper in our bedroom. I have got all my cream and gold shabby chic stuff ready and waiting in the spare room.
    5. Watching the heavy shower earlier on and seeing the rainbow. No pot of gold at the end of it though.:(

;) Felines are my favourite ;)

    Evening all...

Hope your Saturday and been stupendous!

I have been shamefully lazy today... but I have really enjoyed it!!

    1) Watched trashy TV on Iplayer this morning while knitting more squares.

    2) Nice lady came round to collect a the cat basket I sold on ebay.

    3) Preserved the whoopsied peaches I got th other day. They smell gorgeous and I am not sure that I want to give them away as a present!

    4) Lovely snooze this afternoon

    5) Preserved some whoopsied nectarines that I bought this evening... don't think they will be as nice as te peaches...

    6) Went to Mr S fairly early this morning and got about £30 worth of shopping for only £22 by using coupons and bogoffs. I'm very chuffed with this.

Right - need to go and clean the kitchen - it is absolutely covered in sticky syrup from the perserving.

    night night

    Hiya,

    My five for Saturday are:

    1. Made the children fresh strawberry smoothies as a treat for breakfast in bed this morning (am trying to get DS2 to put on weight and DS1 is always starving, so smoothies is one way to get more calories in). I don't need the calories myself but the icecream I put in to their drinks (they were very posh smoothies ) was so tempting that I had to make myself an ice cream cornet for breakfast. :D Now... how to work out that that could possibly be money saving? I suppose it was HM. :o

    2. Trip to a local organic vegbox producers this afternoon - been meaning to visit for ages. Walked through their gardens to their little farm shop - not quite what I was expecting but a lovely little expedition and I bought tomatoes from them for the children's lunches next week.

    3. Absolutely fabulous huge, complete rainbow earlier this evening.

    4. Absolutely fabulouis cloud-heavy sunset that made the sky look as if it was on fire.

    5. Discovering that one of the books in my 'must get round to reading this' pile for work is really, really interesting and I want to sort out an early night in order to make time to read in bed.

    Sweet dreams everyone.

Hope nobody minds me joining in. I've been a lurker for a while and I just love reading your posts, they always make me smile.

Have had a very mixed day but some highlights along the way have been.

1 - A postcard from a friend who lives in England just dropping me a wee note. After a tough night (back ache = no sleep) it was a real pick me up.

    2 - Putting 3 things on freecycle.

3 - Making dinner plans with my mam for tomorrow.

4 - A call from DH who is a way this weekend followed immediately after hanging up by a text from him saying he misses me.

5 - Curling up in bed with a book (about to happen)
