Bonne anniversaire Sparrer - and Candle The First burning brightly today for your tattoo, too. I've been thinking about an & since you gave yourself your special gift last year.
Hope you're having a lovely day already.
Had a sizable post yesterday disappear:mad:...as they do and had no time to re-write.
So[all yesterday's having flushed themselves into the ether] -
1. Up early. Made 3rd Lavender Cake this week and it seems good every time. The cooking scents are wonderful.
2. Lucky find of 3 x 250 gm tubs of Mr T's Channel Islands Extra Think Double Cream reduced to 19p each, now 2 x 250gm blocks of beautiful butter: one garlic and parsley, one lightly salted.
3. A very scruffy, not well-feathered, blackbird seen earlier finds a safe haven in the raspberries. Found another half eaten berry on the ground just now.
4. Iron has hit the floor too many times and won't really superglue again[it has to live on top of the fridge] and have worked out various Mr T points offers[last day today]and money off coupons[ditto] to re-coup £40 in Mr T Deals on a £34.95 spend[1/2price top of range iron] which I'll buy en route>somewhere, using last 5p off per litre petrol refill.
Tight times this month, but take pleasure in the calculations for best squeezing possible.
5. A kind phone call with someone who had gone out of their way to travel here and leave a note in my letterbox concerning something difficult which has happened.
Willing every one a day of calm, happiness, smiles, hugs as each of you finds necessary.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Morning all
Here are yesterdays pleasures:
- Finding the most gorgeous soft knitted cardi in the M&S Sale for my new baby nephew-to-be (my sister is due in less than 5 weeks :j)
- DH getting his nans shopping for her and taking it round to her house. I always feel happier knowing that she has plenty of food in the house.
- Getting a job done that I have been putting off for ages. Its been nagging at me for weeks and now its done, I can relax.
- Finding my old laptray (the type with a beanbag base) in a cupboard. I used to use it all the time, but after we moved (4 years ago ) I completely forgot about it . Its really handy for crafting and writing on and after a quick clean looks good as new.
- Making my first jar of lemon curd. I used the microwave recipe from here, it was so easy and quick to make. I want to try to make other preserves now, maybe a fruit jam, but I will wait until I see some reduced berries.

1. Spending most of the weekend watching girlie dvds
2. Decluttering going quite well, although I moved a wardrobe (cheap fabric one) and it broke so now my clothes I spent ages sorting through are back on the floor.. gotta laugh or...
3. NSD today
4. Few ebay bargains and sale bargains yesterday.
5. Can't think of one, will get back to you if I do..!
Sorry not been posting for a few days, been lurking as not had much positive to say.

Nice to hear from you Karley, whenever you post.
1) Went to church with DS and his gf this morning. Lots of good songs, which I enjoyed, and two babies getting christened.
2) Leftovers heated up for lunch so a nice meal without much effort. Rhubarb from the allotment for afters.
3) Went to look at sheds with DH. We're not sure we want to buy anything just now but we felt we needed to look.
4) Actually had our coffee date at home, which meant that we could eat some of the walnut flapjack I made last night. Saved about £5.
5) Not sure about a fifth. Perhaps it's that with all this thinking about the garden, I have decided what kind of beds I want for the vegetables and DH seems quite happy for me to try growing them at home.
Have a pleasant evening, everyone.0 -
Evening all. I'm very sorry to hear I'm not the only one having trouble thinking of positive things to post about at the moment - I hope things improve for us all soon.
My five pleasures for today:
1) It's been a lovely sunny day so my washing dried, despite being out in the rain all last night. (Note to self - remember to check weather forecast before deciding not to bring in the washing.)
2) Had my favourite luxury breakfast - smoked salmon on HM granary bread.
3) I got a bit of a shock this morning when I discovered my OU assignment is due in this week, not next week as I thought. I spent three hours on it today and it's now about three-quarters done, so I might actually get it in on time after all.
4) No pub quiz tonight, so I have time for a proper Sunday dinner for once, to be followed by mixed fruit crumble to use up the fruit bargains I picked up yesterday.
5) Opened the first of the free soaps I got last month - it's lemony scented and utterly lovely.
Have a lovely evening, everyone.Back after a very long break!0 -
My pleasures today:
1. The mince I'd bought for a lasagne has been streeeeetched to make 8 big portions (double-sized) so they'll be frozen. 1 for tea tonight and the rest in the chest.
2. A £5 off £40 spend in the Mail today. Didn't want the paper, but it'll get put to some use I expect.
3. I polished the bottles of wine in the rack leftover from our wedding - hope it's still ok as there are some nice ones there!
4. A quick look around La Senza - and a half price sale on so I got a lovely 2 piece for a treat.
5. Out last night for a hen party and managed to eat a three course Chinese meal with chopsticksI feel accomplished.
CCP - I hope things pick up for you soon. Sending positive vibes your way (hugs)
Karley - good to see you
(((hugs))) to those in need or that want one. My Mum isn't feeling great at the moment - she's very down - and my thoughts are with her. Take care everyone, and have a nice evening.

Evening all,
Sorry to hear so many of you having a rough time at the moment - I hope that things pick up for you all soon.
1) Managed to freecycle a wine rack that has been knocking around for ages. The lady that I gave it to seemed really nice as well. I am always much happier to give things away when the people seem nice.
2) Repotted a number of plants and split my tayberry bush into two. I hope that won't be too much a of shock to the system for it!
3) Woke up to some lovely fresh HM bread which I had with HM lemon curd... utterly delish!
4) Went to the park to meet some old friends from jiu jitsu for a picnic which was really lovely and relaxing. One of the guys who does jitsu is Thai and runs a thai take away and cooked up some really yummy thai treat. The only veggie dish was green curry which was particularly yummy!
5) I have one bid so far for my bike on ebay. It has been cluttering my flat for 3 years now and I don't use it so it has to go. I need to ebay the helmet and the bike lock this evening as well.
Plans for this evening:
+ dye my hair - there is now officially too much grey showing!
+ find the key to unlock the bike(!)
+ tidy the kitchen
Nighty night all.
Sleep tight and have a prosperous and happy week.
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
My five+ for today:
1) half an hour free step on the Wii Fit this morning, listening to my talking book whilst dd watched the Disney channel
2) cuddles from dd
3) listing freezer contents and making a meal plan
4) shopping for said meal plan
5) enjoying another sunny day
6) catching up with everyone's posts

CCP well done on the rent reduction for decorating and the offer of labour for beer.
Sorry to hear that s many are having a rough time, like me, I do lurke on this thread as it helps me focus on the little things I can do.
Here are some of the little pleasures from the last few days
1. Bootsie Girl has started to enjoy her grooming sessions, even letting me doi her bottlebrush tail and rolling on her back for tummy to be done.
2. Bootsie having a cuddle on my lap when I felt grotty
3. All washing done & dried (ok ironing is tommorrow - but what the heck)
4. Hubby finaly agreed to Sunda\y roast in evening not at lunch (every Sunday)
5. Went to Aldi yesterday & got two jars of active 10+ menuka honey - half the price of Tesco and the set version which tastes much nicer than the Rouse runny version. I was converted toi menuka 10+ after it was used on a leg wound and its healling properties were amazing.
6. Hubby started driving my bottom of the range Matiz and finaly decided that for a small car it's not too bad - even surprised it has five gears!!
7. Went to the small local car boot / market this morning - there were two new good (and cheap) veg stalls. Got 2 bunches of beetroots (now cooked and in the freezer) 4 punnetts of yellow plums ( a jam moment will come tommorrow), Cauli, onion, corgette, red peppers and celery to go with our green toms and beans to make mustard pickle. Then grapes pineapple and cherries for the fruit shelf.
8 Woke at 4.15 this morning and relized I'm getting old when I met son comming in from a night clubbing ( I did dose basck off in the chair as lungs were playin silly whatsits and didn't want to disturb \hubby).
The freebee in our Aldi fruit trees now llooks like it has grown intgo a contorted willow - not sure what to do with it yet but worth e baying
night night and hugs to all
