A rather tense day today. Not unlike yesterday :-/
Pleasures:
1) A lie in.
2) Porridge and banana for breakfast.
3) A few games of football with smaller son throughout the day.
4) Part baked rolls with chicken, soft cheese, pepper and tomatoes for lunch - just what I wanted.
5) Bigger son off in a strop yet again. No revision done, off he went on his bike. A text several hours later saying he didn't know when he'd be back. Cue a text of various threats from me and he reappeared. I suppose a pleasure was that he then sat down and did 30 minutes of English revision.
6) Good to hear from my school friend tonight but sad news from her family.
7) In bed now.0 -
Morning all
Another day and, yes, another train. This time to ICT where i am spending most of this week.
Pleasures since Friday
1. OH and i caught the train to Shoeburyness and walked back to Southend in beautiful sunshine. Shoeburyness has one of the Tower of London Poppy displays which was nice to see. As ever after a walk, we had beer before going to
2. DD's play. My but it was good - devised by them and v. well acted by all. They got a standing ovation
3. Took DD and her friend out for dinner after.
4. Spent the night in a Wetherspoons hotel. Nicer than premier inn and about the same price.
5. Breakfast with DD on Saturday - at wetherspoons.
6. OH and i then went for an 8 mile walk across marsh land and through country lanes. The lesser known side of Essex, which is really quite lovely in parts. SOme beer may have been consumed
7. Won a fiver in a bag of Walker's crisps :T
8. Home earlier than expected and we watched a film
9. DS had gone to a gig in Manchester. He drove - so I was a little anxious. Not particularly about any security issues, I figured Manchester was about the safest place to be - but driving home at midnight down the M6 was more of a concern. however, he got home safely at 2 in the morning.
10. Lovely day in the garden yesterday ending in a bbq before it rained.
Have a lovely day allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
5 As it was Monday offski, had a beast of mega for breakfast. Snorker, grilled with best back. Star cut grilled tom with pepper garlic and sage. Mushrooms and poached egg on buttered toast. Wolfed down and concentrate of orange with eua de faucet was drunk. Tum was rubbed.
4 Bedroom of BoP and BoPsie finished, with curtain rail up. Near disaster as BoP ran out of wall plugs and had to dash off to the hardware emporium on a bank holiday. With a bit of grit, no queue! Back home and the rail is up. Now, as BoP has too much tax to pay, it will be a week or too afore the rail hangs a curtain! Never mind a new bed. More later!
3 When BoP got home BoPsie had made proper sarnies. Ham with chopped toms in buttered bread. Proper food and good for you!
2 Just managed top get the tools etc into the shed when the heavens opened. Had to wait in the shed while the wet stuff blew over. Then proper groom for the week. Fur trimmed, sides shaved. proper shave with twin blade, any more is like putting a plough on your face! Ship variant of plash on used! Stung!

1) Poor little Oreo was in hospital with his mum last night due to a very high temperature and Out of Hours sent them straight to the Childrens Hospital and we've just had a text that they are on their way home with provision made that they can go straight back tonight if the temperature soars again, relief!!!
2) I've just picked an entire colander full of luscious ripe strawberries which are hulled, washed and on a tray in the kitchen drying to go into the freezer.
3) Didn't get too wet when I walked Cookie today.
4) Home made lentil Dahl for supper tonight, one of our favourites.
5) Off tomorrow for a couple of days to a county Agricultural Show, looking forward to it very much but we'll only go if Orley and mum don't need us.0 -

Returning from lurkdom, to be an educator...."Less than one, fewer than two" Mr BoP!!! Good job we luvs ya!
So.....pleasures....many have been had over the last *cough* however many months since I last posted. I've been reading but not posting, not sure why, but thank you for birthday wishes back in April x Hugs to all.
Recent pleasures....
1. Chap I started seeing in November is most definitely a keeper - you may need to buy a hat!We are both utterly smitten with each other *swoon*
2. DD is still the most amazing blessing in my life, she is my best friend as well as my daughter. Thankfully, she also likes chap, which is a blessed relief! She's nearly at the end of her first year of senior school and has taken to all the extra homework and higher expectations like a duck to water.
3. Met chap's parents last week and they loved me, which was fabulous, especially as I turned up late due to s*dding traffic problems!I know I'm in, as they've invited me over to their garden, the highest honour, which apparently has never been on the cards for his previous lady friends:T
4. Have been given some very welcome financial help towards our summer holiday language study camp, yay! Roll on our road trip to Swansea
5. My school is still awesome and wonderful, every day is at least 95% fabulous, and some, like the last day of term, when every child was well-behaved in my observed lesson and then continued to so be for the rest of the day, are 100%!!!
6. Lots of changes happening at school, with many fabulous people moving on to pastures new over the summer, but I'm very optimistic that their replacements will be equally fantastic. According to a wise person who's been there since the year dot, they only employ lovely people
7. In MS news, am going to save a bundle of money by paying DD's school fees up to the end of Year 11 upfront over the summer and am thinking of paying off my student loan for teacher training as well out of my "house deposit/savings" money. It might help me be able to find a mortgage company that will consider me, even though I'll only have a tiny amount of savings in the post, as at the moment I can't get a bean
8. Still trying, and very slowly succeeding, in losing weight. Feeling much better for it, even if I have a mountain left to lose *sigh*
9. Made another lady's day yesterday when, at the fruit farm, I divulged the secret of the best cocktail ever (IMHO), Prosecco, Cointreau and fresh strawberries! Her poor husband was duly instructed to go straight to the nearest offie for non-fruit ingredients :rotfl::rotfl:
10. Looking forward to having a final term of fun teaching and learning with my fun, sparky class. They put a smile on my face every day; I still count my lucky stars after the last two years were so tempestuous!!

1) early start. In addition to light breakfast packed up cheese rolls and refilled water bottle for lunch
2) once onto motorway continued to read The Help which was lent to me for my hols
3) amazingly met other witness for gbf's cp at Marco Polo. She and her husband had just finished a 2 week cruise
4) dd2 very kindly picked me and mum up from Edinburgh. Home to a rather hung over mr piano and 3 over excited dogs. Oh boys missed you all!
5) mr piano cooked lish lamb curry while dd2 and I walked dogs. Now listening to cat Stevens, boys on my bed, window open. BlissMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Hehe, Kittikins - I'm imagining you're now only allowed in their garden, not yet in their house!
Pleasures for today (Monday, which is confusing).
1) A lie in.
2) A quiet day pottering about.
3) Went to parents' for lunch and my brother is recovering from the wisdom tooth extraction of doom (three sorts of antibiotics...)
4) A bit of biology and Eng Lang revised for.
5) Watched another episode of Dr Who.
That's about it! Off to the Jewellery Quarter tomorrow, to try and get my 40th birthday ring resized and to look round the museum there.0 -
A rather odd / off couple of days. But there are pleasant things around me.
Work: busy Monday and Tuesday is done ( that being the pleasure as it's the longest, most drawn out 3 hours of each week!)
Categorised my cover-less magazine collection! One pile for homes/ garden / I can dream pile! One pile for look at all these lovely things you could cook and bake if only you could be bothered and the other pile is easy to read weekly magazines that have little short stories that are about the limit of my concentration! On Sunday I literally sat on my @rse and flicked through mags for 5 hours! Flick, flick, snooze. With Haggis at my side for the full time...he just did the snoozy part.
Yesterday an anticipated parcel arrived . It broke my heart all over again and I was so distraught. It was the condolence book / memorial service in Scotland DVD plus a whole pile of other things.
Phone calls to my sister and friend from home.
Autumn colours. Crunchy leaves to walk through. Two tawny frogmouths in my big tree , not seen them for a few weeks. Star filled sky. Blankets.
Financial stuff finally ( in an almost way ) coming together...just need the cash now! I am looking to a day when I can clear my desk of all the forms / info involved in all of this.
Picked a little posy of flowers from the garden. There's not very many at the moment but they're pretty and they're free. Keeping my florist vouchers for at least another week!
Kittikins nice to 'see' you and I'm glad there's lots of positive things going on in your life and that Miss Kitty is enjoying school, it makes such a difference!0
