    Pleasures for today (Tuesday)

    1) Took the car to the garage and the pleasure was that (I think) they have found out what is wrong with it. A mere £580 to fix next Monday. :-O

    2) Got many jobs done round the house - cleaned the turtle tank, changed beds, hoovered, did bits of admin.

    3) Went to the allotment and did over an hour of digging. Nearly ready to plant out our pumpkin, courgette and sweetcorn plants off the window sills and also salad and rainbow chard. Hens happy getting worms where I was digging.

    4) Had a scary phone call from school re bigger son who had disappeared (plus ca change) but the pleasure was he turned up for both French papers and Biology 1. He said they were not a problem.

    5) Healthy eating continues (it is a 42 plan I have devised with many getting organised elements as I will be 42 in 42 days. Or 42 days from when I started!)

    6) Bigger son did another poem and we watched the final episode of the Island.

    7) He just came in in his pyjamas (that he's been wearing since 7) and said he had been for a bike ride! Just a quick one around the village but he'd also gone barefoot pretending he was on the beach (!)

    8) Watched Holby City.

    9) Nice email from the lady who taught our course at (former) work who will pop to see me to make sure my coursework is OK and passes.

    1. worked with a nice colleague who had agreed to help me out if I needed it. Helps not having to be conscious of the time.

    2. DS2 cooked risotto. It was very tasty but he did complain how long he had to stir it for.

    3. Text from my sister.

    4. Started looking up times of trains for a visit to a friend.

    5. Sat in the peace of the garden.

Still no news on DS1 girlfriend. Very limited help available.

Let me find some pleasures amongst the direness of the day.

Work, 'twas okay and looking forward to my busy Thursday.

We have boxes and boxes of nutritional feed that was OH's , just drop it in when you're passing! It's not somewhere where you just pass. There are kits from when he had his PICC line dressing changed each week...just drop it in when you're passing. So I've been meaning to ask my friend each week when when we catch up on a Friday and we chat about everything else but that so I emailed her today and asked if she could run me in to city with everything and yes she could and let's do it Friday . Gulp! So soon! And it's not really soon it's 11 weeks on and we don't need them and someone else might. One less thing to 'do' . Gulp! Don't know how I will feel about going back to our main cancer hospital.

My poor DD2 , so upset at school and asking to be brought home. Duly done and emails sent. Sigh! I'm glad I was here for her.

Dog snuggles whilst listening to the rain on my office roof. Slightly milder first thing instead of blooming freezing. Heating's on now though.

Steak pie is in the oven along with RTC potatoes ($5 down to $1). Yummo!

The biggest snooze this afternoon....all tucked up under the covers and slept for 2 hours.

Emails sent asking where's my pensions?

    Tomorrow is another day :)

Villagelife: I heard about the HP film via Twitter, it sounded like a great time.

Over the last couple of days, back later with today’s

1 Glad for the heavy rain which has perked up the plants.

2 I tidied out the kitchen corner unit, so I know what we have now, and discovered a luxury hot choc unopened tin which is welcome, and some very out of dates bits that I made into bird foot, suet etc.

3 We went over the bridge to pick up bits for DF and the animals, and replaced our kettle under warranty. We decided to do a shop in c0stco and have dinner there very cost effective.

4 We went to the cinema to see Guardians of the Galaxy2 and it was fantastic, we stuck to our diet and very proud as we had a chicken wrap and banana as snacks.

Up on The Gallops, day wet and drear, but superly soaky for all things garden.
    *
    1. Little Meriva stuffed to gunwales ready for Spits, badly chosen in drenchy rain, then>town of horse to wish young emporium friend Happy Birthday. Perfect timing, luckily, but won't give giftie nonsenses until Friday. & was on plane>Enzed this date last year.

    2. Tate Britain. The Hockney Curators' talk/conversation on Monday night was life-enhancing. The whole day was special AND an nsd, as & had paid several wks ago, day rtn coach, entry(with Art Pass discount - again thank you, Vicky). Had own lush munch+green tea, very Mse.

    3. Towbar partly on chez Fenboys hier, but rest to do Monday: it's a tricky one to fit. Finished my bizarre-ish Library book during the long wait.

    4. Plenty of rtc bread alongside me for new birdy families. No idea where little fledgeling corpse came from, down back by clothesline. Yellow plumage breast. Suspect it was dropped in flight by a.n.other. No nests being used chez & this year. Too much recent feline presence burgeoning, much semi-feral.

    5. "Attributed to......xy, sgd, dated.". & v.v.v. pleased to see 4-£fig estimate beside her lucky find painting, listed for big auction. On verra. Will be wonderful if it comes off.

Unsettling times, confronting the rise of the proudly ignorant and dangerously intolerant. Book burners next......? So, antidote 6 can definitely be Lewis Hamilton's and Rafa's w/e victories, along with no French Open wildcard entry for sharapova.

    Pleasures for yesterday and today

2 DS came as far as Leeds. He even walked beside me to the station :rotfl:
    3. Used the tumble drier for two loads. Not MSE not OS but sometimes I don't have to be a martyr. Especially on rainy days
    4. Had my Hep A booster ready for my holidays. Probably never need another which is a bit scary
    5. Roast lamb for tea yesterday. Perfectly cooked. Freezer chicken casserole any minute now

    Have a lovely evening all
I wanna be in the room where it happens

& - love my Art Pass!

Pleasures for the last couple of days:

    1) Grocery delivery. Excellent quality of items, so I think we'll do this more often. Also means that I'm not tempted into getting stuff I don't actually need!

    2) HM Spaghetti Bolognese from the freezer for dinner.

    3) Contact with a friend who is going through a tough time.

    4) Booked parking in London for Saturday for a mere £6, using JustPark. Used it before and always had good spaces. Oh, and I've got cashback too! Winner!

    5) Everyone on here sharing their news. So good.

    Pleasures for today (Wednesday).

    1) Day 3 of 42 days of healthy eating! Scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast (plus tomatoes), HM parsnip soup from the freezer for lunch, hm dahl and rice for tea.

    2) More revision taking place - Charge of the Light Brigade. It's written in dactylic dimeter (or dinosaur circle, which we concocted as a reminder!) Little bursts of Chemistry revision here and there, for the first exam in that subject tomorrow.

    3) Went down to see the hens in the rain.

    4) House reasonably tidy and all washing done.

    5) Watched First Dates just now.

    That's about it! Quiet day.

    1. Long phone conversation with DS1. He is coping and being realistic about things. His girlfriend has been told that she isn't bad enough to have the care she wants. Her GP has referred her urgently again to the mental health team but they aren't responding.
He is considering some support for himself now as he works long hours and then has to care for his girlfriend.

    2. Able to listen to a young colleague at work and able to reassure her that she had behaved professionally and correctly and the other person was at fault.

    3. After being on phone to sky for nearly an hour they agreed to give me a date for an engineer to come and remove the rubbish they left on my roof in October.

    4. Using up food from freezer. Want to empty it and then keep it organized!!

    5. Ironing done.

    6. Found financial paperwork DH wanted fairly easily. Surprising as have sorted it out recently and its tomorrows job when a new desk/ storage unit arrives. Being self employed he has to keep loads of paperwork.
