Mhags, you are all amazing.
Quick pleasures for yesterday before the hoards wake up
1 took stuff to the chazzer, including a couple of big items (DSs scooter and two music stands). They were really pleased with those items and they went straight in the window
2 did loads of shopping, cost a fortune, all food for the weekend and a lot of booze. Hopefully there will be some of each left
3. Managed to make the house look cleaner than it is
4 managed to mark another set of exam questions
5. My MiLs shock when I said that DS might get a job in a cafe "can't he do something more manly?":rotfl: and Sister in law saying, "I would offer to help but you are both so capable":mad:
Gotta love emI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
vjsmum hope the celebrations go perfectly! Just smile
Today , I've kept busy again. Phoned my niece. Did a tidy up of plants at back door area. Swept and swept some more .Washed and washed some more ( about 6 loads! ) poor washing machine must be wondering what kind of home it's gone to! However all caught up, all ironed. Clean bedding on. Bathrooms cleaned. Floors washed. Having a marathon coronation street catch up and doing chores in between the ad breaks!
More flowers. DD2's friend came with some, lovely lilies and red gerberas and a build a bear teddy for Dd2 that was made to look like her dad, complete with specs and a kilt!
Then another friend left orchids and a candle at front porch, we were through in back room so never heard door. But she's coming back tomorrow.
DD1's friends are on their way over with pizza for our tea! Lovely girls!
Poor Haggis dog is just out of sorts . I know how he feels!
Right pizzas here!
Have a great weekend xxx0 -

Sorry if this is too much nomb for here, but let me tell you - the pleasure of hearing that decent young man's voice after 6 months' needless incarceration is any number of pleasures. He has been as stitched up as the ancient lace tatting & had just finished restoring, when phone rang.
Oh, the circular Nature of Life and everything.
Mhags, this feels so strongly mixed with continuing blessings, waves, and love and smiles to you all.
It IS another day :-)))))))))))))))))))))))))
And a mhags p.s. & still loves her enforced new washing machine of recent date. Soothing stuff, reliability.
vjm - re:mil and sil. Think of the 'Gone!' pleasures you'll post for us, in just another 174,300 seconds....give or take.:p
The Monday night glass will be wonderful, in fact, &'ll do the pouring.

Joys to share beyond measure in the new little lives of Orley and DD1s colleagues tiny new son Theodore who I met for the first time today fast asleep in his sling but wearing his Rugby Shirt!!!
Also playing football in the garden and making mudcastles with Zebra, explaining to him that the bumps on the branches of the fruit trees were going to become leaves and flowers and that the flowers would, with the help of the bees, turn into apples that he could pick and eat later in the year.
Watching his quick thinking processes working when he was trying to tip out a container of stickers onto the floor and being ticked off by his mum, there was a seconds hesitation and then the question 'Is it a hat?' as he smiled angelically at her whilst emptying them over his head.
Rugby this afternoon, we lost and it was extremely cold sitting still for the match but I so LOVE the game!
Home tomorrow and whole week of grandsons to look forward to from Monday, blessings indeed!!!0 -
Lost my post. So briefly
1.A relaxing fairly moochy day enjoying time with DH and animals.

4.I did drop into Mr T, 5 sets of mis priced m and m cookies now in the freezer at 3p per 4. Then 2 packs of 75p chipolatas and a rotisserie chicken for 66p, I used a voucher and parted with nothing.

A funny day today!
1) A lie in.
2) Scrambled eggs for breakfast.
3) Went to local National Trust place (where I have applied for a job) and had a good look round, found a few geocaches and had lunch in their tea rooms AND....
....4) When I got to the reception "shed", I held the door open for a couple to leave with a pushchair. I was thinking about possible interviews and how I might discuss with a member of staff whether they liked working there. I handed the NT man my NT card.
And he said, "YOU'VE got the job" !!!!!!!!
I stared at him for several seconds, wondering how he could possibly know that as the closing date was yesterday! Perhaps he had read my name off the NT card?
I said, "Er, well, I have applied, yes". Cue more confusion. "The job - the vacancy - I have applied".
Man - "Oh, I meant you've got the door opening job...."
:-)
5) On to shopping centre to get some new shoes after my work shoes fell apart yesterday. Amazed to find some that fit comfortably.
6) Had hair cut, eye brows threaded, beard waxes. :-/
7) Cleaned the chicken sleeping pen out, fed and chatted to them a bit.
8) Had pie and chips from the van.
9) Watched Casualty.0 -
Frith - hope it wa s a good omen for the job:)
Pleasures yesterday and today
1. Awoken at dawn by a blackbird singing in the apple tree. No traffic noise at 5.00 this morning.
2. I am back on my cardio diet after a brief but disasterous lapse. My weight loss had plateaued (strange word, doesn't look right?) and I'd lost heart ( dear me, very bad pun)which is stupid because it's essential health wise. Feeling better but still no weight loss.
3. Finished my lovely d-in-laws Christmas jumperHer choice of wool and pattern, hope she likes it:)
4. Found an Aran tunic pattern in my stash. Cast it on.
5. Menu planned for the first time for weeks. Just a list of possible meals and I will juggle them round.0 -
I already have five for today!
1. Rescued some undercooked Brussels sprouts. They were great.
2. Found a 99p jar of olives at my corner shop.
3. Weighed in at my first proper milestone. (8st 12lbs! Under 9st at last.)
4. Took the bin out.
5. Phoned a friend.Savings 2017: £0/£25000 -
& good to read that news.
Some recent pleasures,
Meal out with ex work colleague, sounds so formal as he is a good friend to us both, regaled us with tales of his recent travels, much jealousy especially as he was flying out to Guyana the next day.
Met up with another pal Friday lunchtime, she is going through a rough time health wise so a few tears but far more laughing and sharing of cake, always helps.
Deep pink, frilly tulips on my hearth.
Boiled egg and marmite soldiers for a leisurely Saturday breakfast.
Some sunshine, wrapped up and spent the afternoon in the garden cutting back the honeysuckles and shrubs. Sat on garden seat with cuppa in hand watching buzzards high up, riding the thermals.0
