Brrrrr cold toes, glad to be in bed, though sadly not as organised as you frith with hwbs.
Well done mhags on victory with new doctor. Good luck with drug identification. We also have a super duper pharmacist, so knowledgeable and so gentle.
1) teaching. today we did 'legalities'. now 3 hours on legalities (minus coffee break) may sound a tad tedious, but as always the time flew as we looked at copyright, creative commons, the Equality Act (2010), reasonable adjustment (and fitness to practise), GMC guidance for using patients' audio / video / pictures in educational material, and ethics behind use of learner analytics. They are a fab class (and not just cos they gave me some lish semolina cake)
2) nurse phoned during teaching (i had warned the students she might). i am up to date with all jabs (or jags as they're called here) needed for my travels hooray (though do have a how to avoid MERS leaflet - just what you want when you're thick with cold!)
3) yummy hm curry for lunch. need i say more
4) supper with mum and dd1. dd1 is applying for teacher training and was quizzing me on educational hot topics. We discussed many things, though i did warn her i'm much more familiar with HE hot topics. Although some will overlap many will be different
5) when i got home gbf was sat at the table. he and mr piano had walked the dogs. gbf has brought me round a valentine's card (sweet). i gave him chocolates I know me bad cos he's trying to lose weight, but sometimes chocolate is what you need!MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Fairly good day.
1. Work was fairly busy but not too bad and stopped me thinking about how cold it was.
2. Warming soup for lunch.
3. DS2 cooked stir fry for tea which was tasty.
4. Finished ironing and paired up an enormous pile of socks and threw away the ones that had seen better days.
5. Phone call with my sister.0 -
Some pleasures for yesterday.
Bright, sunny day even though the wind was cold, wrapped up it was lovely to be outside.
Had a trip into Ely, visited my favourite bookshop and might have got a couple of books, then I might have picked up another in a CS
We don't normally do St Hallmark Day but Capt S has gone above and beyond the last few months so treated him to a box of HM chocs.
Cleared out the spare room in anticipation of a wardrobe being delivered, satisfying cull of stuff.
Phish food ice-cream, might be just a little addicted.

Wish I would contribute here regularly as I like to make an effort to give thanks to even the littlest things that bring my day pleasures. It's also lovely to read everyone's else's pleasures, that in itself is joyfull
1. Like many here I'm enjoying the bright sunlight even though the temperature is crisp. The brightness really buoys me.
2. Chuffed to have researched and got the best I can to re-stock my freezer and pantry for the coming months. Itinerary and menu plan ideas all done and listed too.
3. I think we have blue tits nesting under the eaves outside our lounge window. Fingers crossed! Least it is too high up and inaccessible to the cats who have noticed them from indoors.
4. Valentine's Day sweetness from a bunch of daffodils and breakfast in bed. I recycled the daffs and then brought coffee in bed to him too. Really enjoyed the sentiment and humour around one wee bunch of cheap flowers!
5. Work has been so hard going, such pressured deadlines but really enjoying the team spirit and energy from us all to solve problems and get things done. Great stuff.0 -

2) Car made a miraculous recovery, no need to waste my day at the garage
3) Spent the day with the LO who is on half term instead

Good morning, sun is just rising after a very long and difficult night...I may get to catnap later.
My Valentine's Day started with a phone call to my SIL and I shall just go and phone my other one shortly ...after I've fed the dog!
A few chores in our wee town, pharmacy, bakers, florist.
Then had to dash in and back out and go to school to sit for 2 hours . It was the assembly that DD2 led her house in carrying the house banner, wearing her house sash and then was presented with her Captains badge.
We have a little secret signal that we have used since she was little and was ever on stage. Seen from a distance!
Text to say my new specs were ready. So picked them up on way home from school. Oh dear bifocals! I'm hoping I get used to them.
Made the teeny tiniest of lemonade scones and tiny petit four sized butterfly cakes to go with mini meringues for our afternoon tea ( which was dinner) to commemorate my MIL, who's funeral it was back home. Our family there were also having afternoon tea afterwards. I had bought some bright and sunshiny sun flowers for the occasion. Unfortunately OH was too ill to join us but the kids and I ate our sandwiches and cakes and recounted a few funny gran tales.
Right, regardless of not much sleep I stil need to get up and start the day.
Wishing you all much love ...piratepete I hope Jenny has had a wonderful day!0 -
The robot thing on MSE is getting old very quickly, if you click back after the blank screen you can copy and paste the post, well so far but it is getting very irritating.
Mhags What a lovely way to remember your MIL.
We have been waiting for DH’s urgent test results, they should have been available Fri, so thought we would wait and phoned Mon, and then today still nothing.
1.Had a grilled bacon sarnie to celebrate valentines.:o
2.DH popped to local red cross which is just around the corner, while I cooked the bacon with a car literally full to the very top of DFs old equipment to donate they sent him away with a flea in his ear, stating they are not accepting donations as moving. Shocked I phoned the main phone line and they said they are crying out for donations, and that Kent office is not moving until December! So we will we try Thurs, if they don’t accept it then I don’t really know what to do with it all.
3. We started doing a bit of decluttering to try and dig down to a err “guest” bedroom, so far we have created a bag of rubbish, a bag of rags, a bag of donations for our friends that run an animal rescue, and a few things to sell. And after an hour of imploding we stopped and made a cuppa, that was fatal. So now we have in short made a great mess of stuff to sell that we haven’t written ads for just yet.:rotfl:
4. I cleaned and tidied out the fridge, while batch cooking cumberlands, well I say batch cooking more over I forgot to split them up before freezing them so sausages tonight and sausage and brie sarnies tomorrow.:)
5. On and off sunshine still made a difference.0
