5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

-
1) A beautiful frosty morning with a white lawn and a pink sky as the sun came up.
2) A nice walk this afternoon with Cookie, Sue and Charlie retriever all crisp leaves to jump in and friendly dogs on the footpaths to say hello to, most pleasant.
3) A nice bottle of beer present for He Who Knows for walking Mollie Collie for a couple of days while her owner took parents to visit relatives.
4) Another walk to look forward to this afternoon with Maisie and her mum and our neighbour has asked us to keep an eye on Brodie the Cocker spaniel on Sunday as they are visiting a relative who has just had a fair old operation and Brodie would be too pingy!!!
5) Supper out tonight for a treat, lovely!0 -
1. Had home made chicken soup for lunch which was tasty. More left over to freeze.
2. Tea cooking in the slow cooker. Smells good and won't take long to prepare.
3. Did some mending yesterday which I have been meaning to do for ages.
4. Eventually got to work this morning after traffic delays but others were later. An email from a colleague and it looks as if an on going problem will be dealt with.
5. Reading my kindle.0 -
McHags that is fantastic news, always a hard decision to make.
I wrote a lovely post with various pleasures and I or it has lost the lot hmm so at least for today!!!
1. I applied and had a call in response for a role that if successful would want me to start rather soon so I said yes but they aren’t getting back to me until next week. It also made me realise I will miss the time I have had at home with both DH and the animals, where we have got into daft routines, each afternoon little Poppet comes and finds me and plays hard, going loopy for about an hour.:o:D
2. This made me panic into listing all the things I still need to do.
3. Various deep cleaning has been done today, the front door, the stair balustrade’s.
4. Popped out to li@l just for milk, bread, soups and a whole little raw chicken to chop up for the ferrets.
5. Had an email from Amazon saying they have lost my parcel, at least they know I guess, the annoying thing is though I ordered it from them as I needed it rapidly, isn’t that always the way.:o
6. Tonight is a chuck in the oven meal of RTC Tesco gammon, with chips and courgette.:)0 -
Popping by with my last 2 pleasures of today that I missed this morning...
4) lost 3lb at fat club (slimming world but my nickname for it) really pleased as it means I'm on the right track and more likely to stay motivated moving forward
5) a lovely swim with dd and DP this evening. Been a long time since we've been swimming, dp actually hasn't swum since being a child himself, it was lovely to see his confidence grow while we were there. Decided we'll make it a more regular thing now.0 -
My pleasures for today.
1. Driving through autumnal countryside on way home from work.
2. Hm soup for lunch.
3. Watching Danish Girl film this evening.
4. Being warm & cosy indoors on a cold night.
5. Cup of hot milk before bed.0 -
Very edgy &, with America on mind. Will be so until result known. Little logic to this in terms of & existence, but it feels very, very real.
1. Made it to auction before Lot 34, marked as a possible....didn't bid après tout. V. glad I put in the working viewing hours yesterday. Love these.
Pic doesn't remotely convey their &ness - and they're heavy, with deep glow patina. Just ONE Spits patron need agree:-)
http://www.catalogue-host.co.uk/rowley/newmarket/2016-11-08/lot_327?prev_page=search%20results%2c%20page%203%20of%205&prev_url=%2frowley%2fnewmarket%2f2016-11-08%2fsearch_results%3fpage%3d3%26text%3djAPANESE%2520CARVED%2520BONE%2520MOUNTED
& completely loves them. Knew they'd fly or falter - too singular. Luckily for & bidding, the latter.
2. Auctioneer Will, commenting on sandwich - 'Wow! That cheese was weapons-grade...' :rotfl:Loved it.
3. Haphazardy 4-layer birthday cake tower to dear neighbour. Made it down road on foot without tripping over:T[& has form on cutting, burning and falling over - natural talent]. It ended up over a foot tall, so cake carrier lid had nothing to do.
4. 1st workout for Sunday carboot find - Americana Sharif navy leather bag. 50p and now fabulous again, after 2 little mends to lining - not even 10 mins' handstitching. Loved it on sight: A* test-drive today:-)
5. hwb awaits. Night is chilling as we speak, so will hit kettle for a 2nd. Most importantly, they're both purple.

Well done, mhags and Lainey especially - and pk and skint and frith and bop and Lady bopsie and vjsmum and DD and DW - and all others to whom it applies, in your Variations upon a Theme of Arduous Work.
Suspect it accounts for kk m.i.a. too.

Mhags - that sounds eminently sensible.
DD - I missed a post somewhere and was then too embarrassed to ask - who is Mr Piano?
Pleasures for today:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Lots of people running round in circles after I found out yesterday that certain aspects of smaller son's school (a high school with large autism base attached and c.40 boys with statements of SEN) do not really support children with autism... Can't believe how quickly everyone has emailed me, even Autism West Midlands, who are usually silent.
3) A funny lesson at work when the teacher looked confused when I said I was always doing art, graphic lessons etc and know nothing about it. "Oh, I told everyone you have a degree in fine art!" Er, no!! I bet the other art teachers wondered how I had a degree when I obviously have no talent at all! I said perhaps she could tell everyone I have a physics PhD next :-D
4) It's been a strange day of praise today - don't normally have any from one month to the next. We all have to write emails in complaint about a compulsory course we are doing - and everyone likes mine and is copying it. Then I was told I am supporting someone very well.
5) Went to have a cup of tea with my school friend after work.
6) 2 rats caught in the traps round the hen pen (that is 12 in a fortnight).
7) Bigger son has been banned from the house of other out of control pupil by his dad - suits me!
8) I had Thai green curry for tea cooked by smaller son at school. Then a piece of the cake he cooked yesterday.
9) Spent a couple of hours having a good tidy up of all the kitchen then steamed all downstairs floors.
10) In bed now with 1hwb and might listen to a bit about the election.0
