  • MHags make sure you get plenty of rest ! I've been overdoing things and am suffering the consequences :o

    Pleasures for sunday

    1. turned over at 5.30am and went back to sleep
    2. lighter morning now clocks gone back
    3. end of the month banking done and xmas fund looking healthy
    4. current account still in credit as no petrol bought for 3 weeks due to op & no driving during recovery
    5. sorted through food cupboard (no bending or heavy lifting) cleared some items way past their BBE date - some as far back as 2005. If I haven't used them by now its unlikely they will be used in the next 10 years and so best to free up the storage space

    Pleasures for Monday - Wednesday

    1. back at work and am able to get up at 5.30am now the clocks have gone back an hour
    2. working shorter days for first week back and am so glad I did this as I am exhausted !
    3. called at Aldi on way home and did some shopping. Couldn't manage a full shop but managed some fresh and freezer stuff so the cupboards are not quite so bare
    4. afternoon naps - should be siesta time here in UK too :p
    5. in quite a bit of discomfort this morning and was considering cancelling my hairdresser appointment. The lady who does my hair works from home and I have known her for years so I decided to keep my appointment and it was so soothing and relaxing to have my hair washed and dried with the warmth of the dryer too that I have not needed to take any extra painkillers this afternoon. It was cut and coloured too so have lost my go-faster silver streak (in reality = grey roots visible at side parting)

    Pleasures for today:

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Spent lesson 1 at work playing badminton as there was an uneven number of students!!

    3) Work passed uneventfully, otherwise.

    4) Hens OK.

    5) Did poached pears for pudding, with caramel sauce.

    6) Just sent long email to school after driving around to find bigger son on the playing field, with friends and a rucksack of beer. No revision done for GCSE assessment. Apparently he had his science assessments earlier this week (they all count towards the final grade). :-( Pleasure will be if school can sort something out.

Haven't posted for a week or so as have been away with no internet and then been catching up on everything.

    1. Great relaxing holiday. It was warm and all breakfast and lunches eaten outside.
Read a few books and relaxed.

    2. MIL house virtually ready and all washing done if she can come home from hospital. She will be able to if she does her physio. She will need carers in but I've done all I can now.

    3. Beautiful sunrise this morning. It is cold and frosty but chickens let out and fed the birds.

    4. DH gave me two lovely bunches of flowers. Very heavily reduced from £10 to 50p. Still look great after three days.

    5. DS2 cooked yesterday and leftover for lunch.

    6. Work is ok and managing to get through each day. A colleague/friend on Wednesdays make the day bearable.

    7. Slowly decluttering the house and also getting sorted for Christmas. December is so busy this year I need to be organized.

Hope poorlies are on the mend.

Sorry, not posted in a while - i've a broken toe ;):rotfl:

    Pleasures since whenever

    1. Ice cream town - we were going to go away in our caravan but CBA so we went to ICT. Lovely walk in the valley, a trip to the Vale of Rheidol, where the colours of the forest were magnificent and a bike ride. Broke my toe getting out of the bath...... such a clumsy oaf I am.
    2. Woke up on Monday to a carpet of red and gold leaves on the lawn - beautiful even though they needed picking up to get in the bin for collection
    3. Lunch with friends.
    4. Went to see I, Daniel Blake last night with OH. Powerful film, excellently done. COuld have gone further, i think
    5. Enjoying knitting my great nephew to be a little cardi - he's due in January. Knitting and watching various TV dramas (The Missing (excellent), Ordinary Lies (Excellent), Poldark (Excellent er scenery... ;)), Paranoid (Confusing and poorly acted, but i have to watch it to the end now), Dark Angel (anyone for tea? :rotfl:). Once the clocks go back I tend to kind of hibernate so am enjoying the visual feast..

    Right, back to writing....
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Afternoon all! I was going to try to write a post but got too engrossed in reading. Must try harder. Huge hugs/blessings to all in recovery (or hoping for same) & to all Coping with Family. (Half term, bah...)
Will try to post this lot before the light goes & I have to go find my car by Braille.

    OS Pleasures recently

Finally did the married persons tax thing & the process is so easy it's embarrassing. Once you have All The Numbers lined up.

Lads curled up around the box, soaking up the everyday tales of Cornish folk.... Excellent er scenery indeed!

Devised a new dish - white kidney bean, pumpkin & feta chunk stew. All good hearty nutritious stuff but I was glad to have several garlic cloves in amongst the pumpkin... (Lantern fell & shattered.)

Got the in-car sound system to accept son's gadget! He's pleased to play his music, I'm pleased the technology is working. Now to negotiate Long Family Drive music...

After another session with the medics, I like to reward good conduct & watching a teenager inhale McDonalds as I sip tea? The pleasure is in sticking to my eschewing as he devours like a hungry wolf.

Child devising his ideal 18th meal - seems he wants a big kebab, but in a peshwari naan, soused in dhansak sauce. My, but I am so glad the local kebab house already knows us well...

Just seen 3 of my scouts after a splendid trick or treating session - well dressed & with bulging pillowcases of loot & fruit!

Another odd dish - sprouts, chickpeas & crayfish tails. (I'm eating Lidl & often.) Nice mix of textures & full of flavour! (I'm told it was smelly - and judge them biased against not-fried-cod!)

Making plans to take some of my nasturtium seeds to my homeless friend that he can plant & enjoy bright orange nasturtiums where ever he can sit.

Enjoying scruffling golden dry leaves on the walk to the office!

Playing with google translate app - amusingly the French can cope with cuppa but not squeeze! My building pass is a hoot too.

What with the clock change, it's dark early but there's still a hopeful horde come to watch the Barcelona bunch arrive at their hotel.... Who have undeniably brought the traffic with them.

Pre-exam conversation -"Your black pudding's going hard here" met with "I'm trying to find trousers!" Oh my. Still, if we can just placate The Lady by making her laugh, he'll pass.

Someone, eyeing the bag of kale that will be so good for me when I can make myself eat it, opines it could look great on various dioramas. I suspect the usual flocking stuff he uses tastes about the same!

The eschewing requires me to wait to use the kitchen while the chaps cook haggis & mash & honeyed parsnips & a gravy so meaty lesser mortals would call it pie filling. My heap of vegetables suddenly looks much less fun. Still, It's Working & I may slip the leash over Christmas...

Hugs & Blessings, health & strength to all who need them & may all in paid employment find at least *some* satisfactions therefrom.

Have you thought about any radio comedies? I have "Cabin Pressure" from Audible. Can thoroughly recommend. Talking books also...

I've the entire opus, but since I almost fall off the bed laughing listening to it, I don't think I'd be safe at the wheel driving to it.

I'm afraid We're a Queen/Meatloaf/'eavy metal with a dash of Flanders & Swann &/or (my beloved Mad Professor), Tom Lehrer family.

However, prejudice can only be overcome by experience. Will subject middleson to Cabin Pressure & see what happens.

It was wonderful getting four blowjobs up and running! Still working on another decent variant, well next week when all sorted.

    Intriguing! I could hazard a guess....:rotfl:
