The Venice trip sounds amazing DD

Some pleasures for the last few days,

Productive meeting with DM and palliative care team, if the plans all sort themselves out it will be a miracle but at least they are in place.

DB and I are so close again, one of the positives to come out of such a difficult time.

Oldest hollow-legged SS came round and showed us pictures from his recent 5 week trip to the states, he had fantastic time and was buzzing with it all. He especially liked San Fransico where I have also been, tentative plans to all go back at some point as Captain S has never visited that part of the US.
The beautiful Autumn weather continues, if it's not nailed down in our house it's getting washed ahead of the winter :rotfl:

My equine pal is moving better than he has for months so more tentative plans to build his strength up with a view to bringing him back into light work, would so love this as miss our ridden time together.

Just had to track the Mhags tour on the map apps.

    Now where was I!

5 Fryday night inn town :beer::beer::beer::beer:, BoPsie had her rags of glad on, lippy and other bits. IOt takes an age to put these on, in that time BoP just curled his toes! Wobbleades were consumed, and a mixed gorilla was eaten. Tum was Rubbed. BoPsie reckons, see notes passim, too many ades of wobble were consumed! Morning snorker fest yesterday was delayed! Before nipping innto town, BoP decided to get his ducks out for a swim, poured hot water from tank into bath, with foam created by the bubble bath stuff. Rubber ducks a plenty were splashed in the tubs, as BoP uncurled his toes. No it was not my birthday, but some days BoP just need to freshen. The back scrubber was also used. Splash of the spice of old was used as well. All this was carried out while BoPsie decided which rag to wear!

4 Just waiting for a start date in Bristol. Should be around 17th October. So no more feet up and rest. More later!

3 Now of curse you lot would love to know what delicacy BoP had for his fest of break this morning, and yesterday. Had loads of star cut toms, grilled with garlic, pepper, sage and chives. Grilled snorkers, Toms from tin, button mushrooms, pan grilled, toast buttered with marmite and topped with poached egg. Tum has again been rubbed.

2 Day BoP was out spending what little housekeeping BoPsie has and managed to get it all inn again for less than £25. And as a bonus, a cake was also purchased. Don't worry folks, it will shortly be crumbs!

Now you have read this, what else is there to do?

    Edit
    Crumbs the cake is nice!

Good morning from Monday morning back in Melbourne. It's been raining ( there's a surprise ) and much to be done today so I should really get a wriggle on and do it!

Sunday was nice, we decided to go for our early morning walk and the rain stopped , it warmed up a bit and we had a very pleasant ( if rather steep at times...my calves are complaining this morning!) walk around the headland. Saw koalas ( at the back of the zoo) , kookaburras, king parrots, rainbow lorikeets, bush turkeys ( which I've never seen before) stunning views of Sydney harbour from a different perspective than we've seen before.

We went back to the lovely house and woke up our lazy daughters and then had another hike to get to breakfast. I just had toast with some bacon, not really a huge breakfast eater.

Then we hiked some more and walked down, down, down, so many steep steps to another beach. Sydney is made up of lots of different coves and inlets and beaches. Had a wander along this stunning bay and then took a bus back to the house ( cheap seats on a Sunday ...phew! )

Quick gather and repack car , sat out and chatted for half hour and then set off for 10 hour trip home! Stunning scenery. NSW scenery is very different to Victorian. There were about a million stars in the sky as night came down .glad to get home and lovely welcome from my dog boy ....few mutters from my real boy!

Right , much to do so had better get started!
  • Back to Blighty

    3) packed some cheese rolls from breakfast buffet for lunch on plane
    4) mr piano picked me up from airport - what a sweetheart!

    Back with my days pleasures:

Nice catch up on phone with friend back home.
Drove to work ( blah) to pick up teatowels. DD2 came with me.

Discovered Mr Kiplings French fancies at a ridiculously low price ...may have stocked up. Also Battenberg cake. I have never seen them here before. No sugar September stops on Friday :)

Cut some garden flowers for my big vase on back porch.

Returned library book and borrowed another then went got train into city. Started new book.

Went to cathedral for some contemplation time. Lit a candle.

Met up with friends from church at home who were visiting their family over here. They come over every year so was nice to see them again. Had a good old blether.

Traffic on way home wasn't too bad.

Freezer is providing dinner tonight...take your pick!

DD2 is working at bakery ...anticipating free bread ( hopefully! )

It is lashing and lashing with rain! ( this is not a pleasure...just a weather update :))

We brought Haggis home 2 years ago today. Gorgeous boy! He really is my favourite child!

Have a great start to your week x

5 References done and paperwork sent inn for the Bristol Job. Start date awaited.

4 Bin into town to get the statins sore ted. Need to reduce them I think. More later when I pick up the prescriptions.

3 Had herring for tea last night. BoPsie had to leave her kitchen as I filleted the fish. She does not like the ... everywhere. It was served with fresh home made sauce of Parsley. Proper food. The second half of last weeks crumble was eaten up with fresh instant lumpy custard.

2 Night BoP will be watching the speedway. Down to the play offs.

I have not met anyone who is better than me!
  • So many family worries at the mo, each driving me mad in there own way.
So going to focus on your lovely pleasures and find a few of my own.

    1. Doggy cuddles, there is truly nothing like the love of an animal. Peaceful, undemanding and unconditional.
    2. A warm drink, soothing and restorative. Forcing you to sit and focus on drinking it.
    3. Friendship, having even that one person who you know will just listen.
    4. The World Wide Web, the pleasure of talking to you guys and sharing your lives and stories. Watching a cats v cucumbers on you tube ( raised a much need smile)
    5. I'll save this one for another day.
    Much love to all.
    SIMPLY BE-££577.11:eek:
    Very BNPL - £353.00:o
  • BOP: Congratulations on the new job.

    For yesterday.
We have an animal proofed the garden by that I mean to stop ours escaping out, well we did it about 3 years ago now, which means we can take down the plastic eyesore we used to stop the neighbours fence falling on us. DH spent a long time removing the screws and the neighbours came out. Them: Is our fence, me thinking “lack of” causing you a problem, Us “We had to put this up to stop our animals escaping into your garden” so we can remove this. Them – Oh, Our plastic was literally the only thing that was holding it up so at some point it will fall down. Where it did fall over as we took the plastic off DH was good enough to put a piece of wood along to stop it. So pleased it’s down, it was brittle so broken into bags for the next tip run it all took a while but glad it’s done at last it’s been on the to do list over a year.:T

    1. Sunday tradition, grilled bacon roll for brekkie.
    2. The garden looks fab so pleased the plastic has gone, it’s all bagged up and loaded into the car for another tip run. Hoping this work around the house is starting to make a difference.
    3. Food planned for the rest of the week, all out of the freezer so no expenditure.
    4. Roast pork with rosemary and thyme mash and fresh veg smelling great cooking away.
    5. Small amount of cleaning done the French windows cleaned up and all rugs through the fixed washing machine.
  • I nose, I has gone again! But this is a pleasure to treasure!
The cake, so purchased only yersterday, and reduced as according to a sticker it was about to suddenly go off, but is that full of preservatives, it is unlikely to had done so, has been reduced to CRUMBS!

Obviously, if BoP had not been so guts full, and actually divided it up into quarters and shared with BoPsie, it could had lasted until Wednesday, instead of being used up on the thirst round of fresh brewed loose leaf tea this morning!
