  • I am feeling meh today as I had the 4th yup you read that right 4th interview for the contract role that looked perfect all around. I got up early, paid the £££ rail fare, got there early to do extra research then went to the building to be told it was cancelled yesterday and no one told me anything:eek::(! I could have cried on the spot but didn’t instead, I caught the tube and train home, and while travelling I read a bit of a fun book about a lady who said stuff it to the corporate world and it made me smile, then DH picked me up from the station and as Li&l is next door to the station took me there to pick up some fresh bread for lunch. At the moment I feel disappointed I can’t deny, and as I write I am still shaking my head in disbelief, but then “Everything will be okay in the end, because if it’s not okay, it’s not the end!:T”….

    1. Also picked up 3 30% off bits to food plan around.:money:
    2. Dinner tonight will be leftover gammon steaks with pineapple and egg with new pots.
    3. CV is back out there and roles applied for, something will come up.
    4. Popped out with DF who is trying to cheer me and we got rid of some clutter.:o
    5. Another pile of paperwork shredded and recycled in time for the bin men tomorrow.
    6. Of course I am not sulking or anything but I am contemplating making chocolate cupcakes.:o:rotfl:

5 Walked into town, BoPsie had her jab for influenza. Make sure you get yours. BoP had his last week. Sore Ted. No coughs in years!

4 Ready meal this evening. Sunday left overs. Pie of cottage, warmed in oven. Cauliflower, door stop carrots and garden peas were also eaten. No waste. Raffles was upset as there was no bits for him. Tum Rubbed.

3 Washed car this morning. Wheels of steel. Looks gleaming again, but shame there is no sun!

2 Night could watch another film. BoPsie will be after a Burt ageing I think.

    Another day!

    Live Scrabble

Due to circumstances, we can only bring you a results service this evening!

Finished work for a few days this morning :T

Got some really good beef and lamb bargains on way home, so that is the meat for monday and friends coming over sorted in a very mse way.....:j

Watched some recorded tv , mooched around the gardeb for a while, and had nice relaxing day with asbo-cat.

Stocked frezzer with ys chicken also found this morning, and cooked one for tea.....with mega gravy from freezer.....yummmm

Played flick the foil balls for asbo....never stops being funny to how huge her eyes get. Also seem to be managing to get some weight on her a bit i think...she's old and getting skinny.

Now in bed, listening to vague noise of the sea mixed with some purring, with candles lit, asbo on bed, watching tv.....again.... and mooching on here.

All in all.....a very chilled day.. :j
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

Wobbleades are served. Game one has finished with a victory for BoP.
BoPsie, who allegedly has registered inn this parish, remains only one win away from the chance of two on the bounce!

    Pleasures for today (Tuesday)

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Sons had reasonable days at school. Smaller son made a cottage pie which we all enjoyed.

    3) Work OK for me.

    4) Went to see my school friend after work for a cup of tea.

    5) Hens OK.

    6) Went to let brother's dog out and feed his chickens.

    7) Watched DIY SOS.

Got the doctor's first thing to get my blood test results. As long as these are clear, that'll be me sorted out!
  • 1. Worked with a lovely colleague today. We had a few good chats .

    2. DS2 cooked tea -=he wanted to cook shepherds pie. I said we don't have any lamb mince so we had shepherds pie made with beef. He cooked so he decided he could call it shepherds pie and not cottage pie.
The potatoes, onions and carrots he wanted were all grown in the garden. Had it with more home grown veg - spinach, chard and fennel.

    3. Saw 3 hedgehogs in the garden, one was a baby one.

    4. Arranging to meet my sister and her family on Sunday.

    5. DS2 has 4 job interviews lined up with the possibility of a couple more. He is concentrating on the area he wants to work in at the moment. He still has money from his summer job.

    6. Avoided the supermarket. I am trying to leave it longer between visits to save money and to use up the food in the freezer and is much easier when there is still veg and fruit in the garden.

    Some recent pleasures,

Finding comfort from presence of loved ones and the cosy peace of our home.

The small toad seems to have disappeared, but the resident bat appears to have found a mate as there are now two of them flying around the house at dusk. It lives in our loft, possibly feasting on the cluster flies that make an appearance each spring and autumn.

The hedge sparrows managed to squeeze in three broods this year and all the youngsters fly around together in a flock, they remind me of a gang of teenagers, noisy and constantly demanding food :)

Sitting in the autumn sunshine enjoying a cup of tea.

Captain Scarlet went off to a footie match with eldest SS last night, little dog might have sneaked onto the sofa with me...

Stocked up on canned and packet goods, now gradually washing way through coats, scarves and gloves.
  • 1. Up and out to collect prescription, have a b12 injection and booked in for the Flu jab, ta for the reminder Bop.
    2. Dusted top to bottom sneezed a lot, I also had a lot of animal help making me smile. Then cleaned some windows and mirrors with distilled vinegar, put on clean bedding, hoovered and mopped.
    3. While waiting for the floors to dry, I sat in the sun in the garden, and saw a flash of blue in the form of a dragonfly and lots of flutter buys on the buddleia including a stunning red admiral, then I got up and mowed the lawn as well.
    4. Food planned through to Sunday using YS leftovers, freezer and stock mix, tonight will be curry with turmeric rice, to include leftover pineapple and sweetcorn.
    5. Just peeled, cored cooked up and now freezing down 39 apples, part has made crumble base, the rest will be turned into either puree or jelly, a whole shelf now in the freezer of various foraged things all ready to be bottled up and stored away.

5 was hard for me as I'd had a bit of a carp work week:

    1. Cheekily cooked 2 meals in the slow cooker today after finding 2 slow cooker bags - 4 dinner portions

    2. After estimating the summer to Autumn / wardrobe turn around would take a weekend - 5 days later it's done. Had to buy new knickers too and can't stop peeking how nice and simple it all looks. Getting ready for work in the morning took minutes.

    3. A shampoo and set works well for me, I get Marlyn curls day one, slight bed head day, lose curls day 2 and another 2 days of up dos. All this needs is cheap setting lotion grips and a scarf. Thank goodness hubby's beyond too much sext bedtime!!!!

    4. I've been eating my sugar / low carb diet again and starting to feel a lot better, it's nutritionally rich so you eat less, saves a good bit,

    5. Happies snoo has been taking a countryside road to work to see young kestrels making out on their own, though I do have to slow down for a gaggle of geese to inspect my car. Pure magic x

There is a number 6 but it involves the cats bringing in semi live prey for the slow cooker, one doesn't want to not appreciate it but voles don't have much meat on them....
  • My pleasures for today

    1. Wonderful friends who reassured me.
    2. Lovely sunshine.
    3. Going to my craft group - not much done but plenty of chat.
    4. Speaking to my ds2 & Dd today.
    5. Chicken & chips for tea
    6. Afternoon tea booked for a biggish birthday later in the year.
