  • DD being nice. Can see that lasting? Welcome newbies. Careful inn the parish! Nursing skill. Nurse! Is that the wet one or nursery? I red them as insect days and!

5 Decorations down, as it was easy to do them this morning! All bagged and twenty year old tree put away for another year! Rudolph had his batteries removed, as they are a little flat.mthey were dated 2014. No waste here in BoP pad.

4 First dump run of the year carried out, slow coach on what there thought the 4x4 Germanic extraction car would topple on every bend. Took him ten minutes to park up. We were inn and out inn no time!

    3 Dom day.

2 Night, well last night, we watched two classics. Had to turn off jungle book, because it would upset BoPsie when Shere Khan goes for Bambi! Too much for her! And then we watched Frank and Burt in From Ear to Ear turn to me. Think she only watched it for Burt. Not inn it for me!

We've not had a man in the house since the cat left!

    3. Many loads of washing cycling through and all over the house.

jolly mummy sadly no legendary lamb pie here, but I did make delia's red cabbage for the first time New Year's Day. Soooooo good. Had what was left next day with bits of bacon stirred in. Also yum.
    1) back at work. Only one other in so blissfully quiet. Got thesis review finished and defrosted work fridge, but had to buy milk so not a nsd
    2) poinsettia and geranium survived the crimbo break
    3) rest of hm Sicilian aubergine stew on pasta for lunch. Even better day 2!
    4) round to mum's for tea. Salmon and veg with nowt stronger than a cup of Rosie. Dd has decided to be a bit more abstemious this year for the sake of (in no particular order) her a) waist line b) liver and c) bank balance so is now counting no alcohol days as well as no spend days in her signature
    5) took a portion of mum's hm sheperd's pie and veg back for dd2 who had fallen asleep after driving back from Edinburgh. The weather here has been yuk!
Right, now to brave ambridge. Surprised the river am hasn't burst its banks

Lots of Delia's red cabbage in the freezer here, with some consumed on Christmas Day ;-)

    Pleasures for today (Monday)

    1) The early start did not actually kill us!

    2) No dramas at work today, even during my lunch duty.

    3) A book arrived in the post. I found some my granddad had written and have ordered 2 from Amazon.

    4) After work I popped into town (not flooded - yet) to check out the new charity shop. Bought nothing.

    5) Tasty wrap for lunch then cherries. Tea was salad.

    6) Did half an hour of wii fit. Wii says I have lost 5lbs since 30th December.

    7) Went swimming with sons and my brother and swam 25 lengths and played various catch/goal scoring games.

    8) In bed already with 1 hwb and waiting to see what the 6.30 comedy was this evening on radio 4.

  • 1) Just back in from walking the hound ....... In the SUNSHINE!!!

    2) A beautiful starling sat in the sun at the very top of a winter tree and shining with bright green iridescence in the sun, beautiful!

    3) The river at high tide today as we walked by, it's always pretty, but in the sun was magnificent today.

4)Unexpected chat with DD1 this morning, she rang me while she was waiting for her sister to arrive and meet her from the train, don't usually get morning chats so it was very nice.

    5) Grape Hyacinths in full bloom in the garden, so bright and cheerful, a real mood lifter in the depths of January.

    Some pleasures for yesterday,

Feeling so much better and having a real appetite after not eating all day Sunday.

Finishing my book in between dozing on the sofa, now for the sequel...

Lovely catch-up phone call with my Mum.

Under supervision, Captain Scarlet cooked a delicious supper of Paprika pork with sweet pot mash.

    Despite dozes dropped straight off.
  • Pleasures of the day.

5 Router failed, so put old one back inn and no problemo. BoP back up and running. Now where was I. Ah, jelly beans!

4 Tea tonight BoP feasted on salad and quiche. Well, you have to, some days. Rubs Tum.

3 Watching the darts. One Hundred and Eighty. The girls also throw as well!

2 Day, BoPsie called for BoP, as Raffles did his number one in the centre sink! The cat is incredible. So considerate of him to do it while the washing up was being attempted!
