    Tin of condensed milk
200g chocolate broken up into it - I use 85% cocoa but anything would do

Whack in micro for a minute or so until chocolate melted
Put in foil lined dish in fridge till set
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    1. Realised I have all my presents now and just have to wrap them (keep my freebies from work during the year as stocking fillers)

    2. Felt pants all day and craving Indian food but instead of a takeaway we dug some onion bhajis out of the freezer and there is a chicken, red pepper & spinach Madras in the slow cooker.

    3. Mr Zaxdog is off to the beach with the mad lurcher and will swing by Mr T on the way back for YS bargains

    4. Did a wee bit more work on my newest crochet blanket.

    5. Caught up with the laundry :j

    Some pleasures for yesterday,

Two new vests arrived in the post courtesy of a money off voucher, they are soft, brushed cotton so warm and cosy, got to love a vest.

My boy already looks and feels so much better, fingers, toes and eyes crossed.

Trip to emporium in the afternoon, saw an ex work colleague and was gratified to hear that all is not rosy in that particular garden.

Saturated ourselves in four back to back episodes of Peep Show, naughty but nice.

Finished the K Mosse book was reading, next?

& - anything Choc/Orange is fine by Lainey, think D French but with less restraint.
Frith. - hope new pal is settling in well
Glad our poorlies are starting to feel better

Goodness me! It's Sunday morning already and just about to get ready to go to work , we are short staffed today so will be busier than ever!

Anyway, Saturday shift passed by quickly enough, such a lighter atmosphere now Butt head has gone . Kept busy right from the start.

OH came in on train and we went home in my car.

Then we went out to a nearby town that has a food truck park. I had heard of people going there but wasn't sure what it would be like, well it was fabulous. Different food trucks come every day ( not greasy spoon trucks) the area is all set up with indoor and outdoor seating, there's a bar, it was absolutely packed. I had chilli con carne which was nice.

Home and reclined on sofa and caught up on UK Telly then a very early night in bed.

Lovely messages from my DD1 , who is now in Switzerland.

    Have a good one.

Looking forward to more dog takes frith
  • 1) It didn't rain today, yes we had lots of wind and it is cooler but it is and has been DRY!!!

    2) Got some new cough medicine from the pharmacy which seems to be helping keep me quieter.

    3) Phone call from DD1 to say the Champagne afternoon tea I treated them too had been sumptuous, delicious and thoroughly decadent.....what's not to like?

    4) The fire has been lit since 4.30 and the lounge is blissfully warm and comfortable, so much so I keep nearly drifting off.

    5) Photo from my dear friend FUDDLE of her girlies playing in the snow in their new home, superb snowman on next doors front garden and many small people throwing snowballs, really made me feel Christmassy, thanks again FUDS!

    All exciting here!

    Pleasures for today:

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Continual rain (yet again) but quite warm.

    3) Popped to see dad.

    4) Mum and brother popped in here on their way home from Birmingham Christmas market.

    5) Chips from the van for tea.

    6) Watched Casualty.

    7) The dog! He's quite mad :-/ So far he's had a little walk near mum and dad's house and ignored 2 insane small dogs spitting and snarling walking the other way. He's had a massive walk through the forest and ignored all dogs and does not pull on the lead. And 23 little walks around the village here trying to get him to have a wee...

Wees are nice in the house but not on that uncomfortable, wet grass outside. We've also had the upset stomach of stress (from both ends).

But he's very friendly. His favourite trick is getting off the sofa, front legs first, then sliding along the sofa for as far as possible before plopping his back legs down. He's chewed up a tennis ball, ripped apart a rope chew toy and, randomly, the flight of son's plastic arrow. (Never found all the bits). We'll see what he does over night...
  • 1. Christmas cards all written and posted / delivered by hand. I’ve created a computerised address book after losing my address book just after Christmas last year and it’s never turned up.:o
    2. DH and I still feeling unwell not a pleasure but we are trying to get on with it, delivering the cards to the neighbours seems everyone seems to have the lurgy.
    3. Managed to do some cleaning and de cluttering achieved.

    4. When friends departed recently they left a mess behind, it’s re-enforced things like insurances to DH and I, the pleasure being we are in a small part organised but still things to do, but need a job for that!
    5. Just made soup with anything left in the fridge, it will be chicken fajita’s for dinner.:)
    6. We’ve changed our Christmas plans we will now take a week, this reigns in the finances, gives DH a much needed break and means we can put up decorations later.:D
  • 1) taken the children out for a walk
    2) Hot chocolate at home after our walk
    3) Baking with the children
    4) DH is sorting out some stones in the garden which will be used in ongoing building works
    5) Fire is ready to go on
  • 1) Just decorated the tiny Christmas tree that goes year on year in the front window, so pretty!

    2) Met my brother in the village on the way home from a Cookie walk and put the world to rights, caught up on the adventures of my nephew who is on a year out in Australia too.

    3) Went out in the car today to the chocolatier in the village square of a nearby village and invested some of our Pub Quiz winnings in a lovely box of handmade chocs for Christmas.

    4) Went to the farm butchers and invested the rest of our Pub Quiz wins in a lovely piece of topside which they vacuum packed for me to go in the freezer for when DD2 et al come on Boxing Day, also got some lovely sausage meat and some chippolatas.

    5) Made the Christmas Gingerbread and the whole house now smells amazing, gingerbread is wrapped and up in the store room to mature until we eat it over Christmas when it will be iced with a lemon icing and decorated with crystallized ginger pieces and blanched almonds, yum!!!
