5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

Morning from my bed again - as i watch a train i probably ought to be on pull away
Frith - poor lad. A boy from my DS school a couple of years ago jumped in front of a train. Regrettably there's no coming back from thatSuch pressure on our teens these days.
DD - earrings
Mhags - mmmm heat
Had the most lovely scrum diddly umptious day yesterday - a one day holiday
1. Lolled about in bed trawling the net
2. leisurely breakfast
3. a stroll around town doing some chores, eating free chocolates and chazzer shopping. I am having my auntie's gate bracelet that she left me, but which is broken beyond repair, into a twist pattern thumb ring. The price i was looking at of such rings was over £100 - nearer £200. This will cost £60 for additional gold and the making of it....:T It is to be (one of my) Christmas pressies from OH. I also picked up a Rohan top from a chazzer for £4 - perfect for when i am here.
4. Took the train to Aberdovey (5 mins journey), had lunch in my favourite coffee shop, a short stroll round the (mostly closed) town - reminded me of this song, which I heard earlier in the day
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPaVJNGnSAg
And which has been in my head all day
I then took a walk back along the beach, battling the elements - wind, sun, rain, sea foam. it was fabulous and i was the only one [STRIKE]stupid enough[/STRIKE] brave enough to do it :rotfl:
5. Sausages, lentils and veg for tea before heading off to the teeny tiny cinema to watch the NT live performance of Jane Eyre, which was amazingly good. Love these NT things....
But all good things must end (apparently) and i have to get the (three hour) train to work...
I am so over the work thing....
Have a good day allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Some pleasures for last two days include,
Cheeky little nap on the sofa Monday afternoon, woke up to a big labrador's head on my shoulder politely enquiring as to the whereabouts of her tea.
Billy loaded onto the trailer yesterday like a pro and seemed to enjoy his trip to the equine hospital.
Spending an amount of time alone for the first time with the yard owner and discovering that we have a very similar sense of humour, sat, laughed and drunk tea whilst horsey pal had injections.
Lovely, lovely veterinarian said that we can start ridden walk work immediately, yay.
Did I mention that I can ride my horse again, so so flippin fantastic :rotfl:
Spending rest of day with lightness in my heart.
Frith - bless that lads heart, so young to have that amount of pressure.
DD. - loving the earring updates.
VJsMum - Captain Scarlet, mmm, think dark hair and eyebrows, that's my DOH, CS was my first crush so all worked out well0 -

My OH looks more like Brains though....

1) Being with the Zebra yesterday.
2) Playing with the Zebra yesterday.
3) Colouring with the Zebra yesterday.
4) Reading a book with the Zebra yesterday (again and again and again!)
5) Getting the Zebra down for his nap after lunch and giving him a cuddle while he drank his milky and drifted off to sleep in my arms, that's the very best pleasure of all!!!0 -
1. I made some jam tarts today and had flash backs to making them with my mum. Aww.:o
2. Both DH and I took a 4G deal this time last year and as part of the package got a phone with it, we both remembered to phone up and cancel it before the charges today. Nice to have done annoying to deal with the sales are you sure…
3. I forgot I’ve manged to lose some weight, a stone since Oct, always handy on the lead up to Christmas..it’s great but I am trying to ignore it as I have more to go. I’m not sure how but wonder how much comfort eating I was doing when I was unhappy in the previous job.:o
4. DH is very poorly I’ve been plying him with hot drinks, I think it may be doctor time for the first time in 10 years for him, not a pleasure but nice to be able to look after him.
5. I am enjoying food planning, today was prawn salad for lunch, HM shepherd’s pie for dinner, dh’s favourite comfort food.:)0 -
Frith - poor lad, thank God he survived for a second chance of life
DD sprout earrings sound fun - love sprouts!
1. Everyone informed no cards this year as always. Instead a donation to WaterAid, which our very generousgovernment is matching £ for £. I'm quite happy to rob those as rob us
2. All C-word presents done/wrapped. The majority are getting £'s or vouchers rather than drive to the shops, pay for parking, spend ages choose the 'right' gift, buy wrapping paper, wear myself out and have to stop for a rather expensive pot of Earl Grey and a double choc slice with profiterole topping (it was always a Danish until I discovered Patisserie Valerie early this year) before the trek home to wrap them all up, then go out again to post them, it would be easier on my carbon footprint - whatever that is - and more useful if I just didn't go all through that palaver.
3. One elderly gent is getting home-made millionaires shortbread, individual apple pies and 2-portion chicken pie for a secret Santa this weekend. He loves home cooking and I can easily do that with the £5 allowance
4. Took 3 bags to the cs, one full of C-word decorations which they said they've desperate for. Pleased they'll go to good use.
5. Went to £land and bought lots of little items for a day centre for adults with learning difficulties C-word party and Santa visit. Delivered this morning, I was amazed that the place is just 1/2 a mile from me yet I'd never known of it until I read of the appeal in the local paper.

Bigger son's friend was airlifted to large hospital and is in a coma with lots of broken bones. That was the news in assembly today. Even that is better than it could have been.
Pleasures for today
1) A reasonable sleep.
2) Egg mayo sandwiches for lunch.
3) An OK day at work.
4) Went to the cinema to watch Spectre with sons and my brother.
5) Confused sons on the way home by acting out Fast Show sketches with brother - they were laughing at us laughing in the end!0 -
Hello from Thursday evening .
A mixed bag of a day.
Started early when we found out that DD1 had been pick pocketed in Berlin. Cash taken , her student ID, her bank cards ( cancelled) polizei visited and a 'can you translate this mum? ' request.....now, I did study German but over 30 years ago so no, I can't! Could probably have had a conversation but read a report , nah! However, I know someone who could so that's all been dealt with....thank goodness for social media!
Phoned friend from home
As surgery was cancelled we went to the beach for some lunch and a wander. We parked where it was free and then wandered along coastal path, saw black swans and a pelican and met a funny little dog down at the pier.
Had some lunch , service was appalling and we won't be back which is a shame as its right at the beach side.
Wandered along a bit more then returned to car and drove into the town and had a wander round the harbour with all its fancy yachts.
Home safely after being stuck in traffic for an hour due to an accident on motorway. Snoozed!
Have a good day0 -
Some pleasures for yesterday,
Dry, sunny day so it was a pleasure to be outside.
Spent three hours with my lad, grooming, grazing and having a lovely long walk in the sun, bliss.
Lovely drive through horsey town and into Suffolk countryside to pick up my darling Mum.
Lack of space in hospital car parks meant we had to park off site and walk through, pleasure was seeing Mum not only cope with the stroll but enjoy the fresh air and exercise. The clinic was pleased with her eyes and confirmed she still does not need any surgery yet for cataract.
Tired but in a good way after being so busy.
Mags - that's a horrible thing to happen to your daughter and what a worry for her Mum.
Frith. - love love the Fast show, my brother and I do much the same routine only with BlackAdder.
Sparrer. -ooh, have not yet discovered the delights of Patisserie Valerie but think it's time to start.
VJsMum - ha, Scott Tracey eh, must say the biggest disappointment of my young life was finding out that Captain Scarlet was a puppet :rotfl:0 -
goodness frith how terribly sad. hope he pulls through and feels open to the support on offer.
hugs to mhags daughter

5) then we went to 'the three tenors' charity fund raiser for 'total recall', a choir set up for people with dementia and their carers. Was lovely, all very christmassy, and packed, since we're both trying to shed a few pounds we forwent the usual trip to the pub after :AMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
