Glad you're finding a pleasure in the sock knitting, but sorry you're feeling bleugh, Mardatha x0
-
Not been around for a while - long story!!
Just stopping by to say I am so sorry to hear the news about Mr Mchags and you and your family are in my thoughts - its cruel and heartless disease and you are doing amazingly well!
Pleasures will wait!0 -
Just in from a 12 hour shift.
Brain dead.
Sending love and virtual hugs to mhags and hubby.
I'll be back tomorrow with some pleasures as it my day off so I'll be sure to gather some
Night all xxSIMPLY BE-££577.11:eek:
Very BNPL - £353.000 -
Darn socks when you can have tattie fields!
As mentioned earlier. Yellow thing shining. Must be a week off for BoP then coming up!
First have to sort the mill out and then close the door!
Oh, and another :heartpuls0 -
1. About to get drenched, yellow thing notwithstanding, when I catch up on fat raspberry picking shortly. Then Thankyou jam for x as his car key pinged &'s boot open, which shut a bit early the other day....&keys inside.
Many hugs and Merci Millefois-es given.
2. Ankle-deep wading back yesterday after good de-badgering in College salon. Town bus stop laughter as 'due 2 mins' blazed on for over 20 mins.
3. Delicious all sorts soup last night, brewed with various use-ups since previous day. sparrer- it includes chicken wings and sweet potato, shades of yours:-)...oh, and sweet corn. It's scrummy.
4. kk - I, too, was pulled up short by your 'not'/'now' spotted by Frith. It really unsettled me:-))) So glad to read correction.
5. Last Sunday's prayers[Vicar on fortnight's hols] Another startlement, when one of our academic Drs at some length sought prayers for JC of the Corbyn kind. & was surprised by degree of result and Y's low showing anyway. Followed a brilliant and very telling sermon about fear, change, action - refugees and politics strongly there.
Spoke to both peeps afterwards and was extremely surprised.
6. Cathartic rugby shouting on Saturday under yellow thing, much needed. Good victory, as we climb back up to Div. from which we plunged ignominiously last season. 52-17 would be nice start for AB's come Sunday. J'espère.

judi - keep Mother Julian close right now. At work, home or that combination of both known as Life, she's o.k. - 'All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.'
vjm - I enjoy the Chicken Thread[post passim] so thought you had become a keeper too, for a nanosecond...another vjm name there:-) Have you played with titles yet for PhD? Good luck on that. Thought of son, too, when reading this:

Definitely sock-knitting time and weather, mardatha.
Frith - yes, Tom is great, responded instantly re: 2 somethings before and after ballot. Referred to sth & said at mtg, indicating apparent memory. & feels concern for him, but there you go. He is as he is, powerhouse, realist, on top of any issue, techmeister in good way. Hope the anchor/militate rôle he has to hold doesn't take toll on health[remembering R.Cook, lovely T. Banks]
Yes, certainly know the layered dream - also not a good one. Dreamt that I woke from finding x post-suicide, only to find it was not so, then waking to know opposite. It still comes at times.

mhags - more thinking strongly with you. Feel useless. Did that craven virtual search just hoping something might be right. Chuck this in bin or tell me to delete it and I will:

Walked out of work today. By 10.30 too! For financial reasons then had to turn round and walk back in. Trying to plan better evening now. :-/
ETA the walking out did not go unnoticed and has triggered various things off. Allegedly.0 -
How are you now Frith?

Mhags words will never be enough but we are always, always here for you with a shoulder to howl on and arms to enfold you. You need to cry and rant sometimes and this is a good place to do so. Pleased you could speak to your OH about your fears, it's a family illness and of course you all need to say how you feel. God bless x
&'s raspberry jam, my favourite
Hope all will be well with positive things ahead Frith
Thank God for the yellow thing BoP, see below for my sigh of relief
mardatha you reminded me of my lovely Nana who knitted our school socks and made garters from wide elastic, some 60 years ago! Thanks for the memory
VJsmum good luck with your proposal, nothing ventured nothing gained
1-4 The gales have lifted several tiles off the roof, the ensuing torrential rain has drenched the loft and all 14" of insulation, water poured - literally! - through the loft hatch, ceiling light fitting and smoke detector, soaking the landing carpet and stairs and staining the walls and ceiling. A very nice young man came and tried to put some polythene over the hole but made no difference. He referred back to his manager who said it was a scaffolding job but due to elf and safety nothing could be done until it stopped raining. Spoke to housing manager who has taken responsibility upon herself to ensure the repair will be done asap.
5 It stopped raining this morning for the first time for 2 1/2 days :T
Wish I hadn't given my dinghy to my brother, I could have white-water rafted down the stairs...
Have a good rest of the day0 -
sparrer - that's all very alarming, too. Are you able to use power when there's so much water/damp in the mix? Those 2 things in conjunction are real no-no's.
Please be careful. Is it only your roof that lost tiles? This is major repair work.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Thank you &. Yes unfortunately my roof seems to be the only one in the square affected. Nothing like being different, is there?!
I've isolated the upstairs lighting circuit and have a couple of very powerful torches that DS gave me which I'm using as bedside lamps. My house is open plan so the lamps in the lounge see me safely up the stairs. It's rather cosy sitting in the lounge reading by lamp/candle light, and on the bright side it may even save me a few pennies on my electricity bill0
