Ooh, don't know Frith...no, Unbelievable Truth. Just looked.
Lucky you with blackberies. They're looking scrappy and shrivelled, or else maggoty everywhere, despite rainy weeks prior.

Thanks Ampersand - saw your link - we must have cross posted - will have a proper look at your recommendation. I forgot I have 'The Exotic Marigold Hotel' still to read - not seen the film but want to and need to read the book first or it will be spoiled! I have a few others kicking around that I 'should' read but they are not calling me! Need to look through my book stash as I haven't looked properly since I started dissertation!0

I shall just say in an out loud voice, that I'm over work!
Crazy day , which was an extra and rather grudged. Very busy, very stressed and very annoyed.....however, done and dusted , it's our first day of Spring , officially and after a very chilly start it turned into a beautiful day. Sky was blue and sun was shining....the wind would still have cut you in two but I was inside being grumpy and stressed and busy!
Train home ! Aaaaaaah!
First stop the bakers shop! Free rolls with my loyalty card.
Son had done the tidying up I'd asked.
Watched Eastenders from a collapsed position on sofa!
I am grateful that I have a job, have nice colleagues, have mostly nice customers, was told my muffins were the nicest a customer had ever had in her life, was shown a bottom set of false teeth by 93 year old customer.....she thought she'd lost them last week.....showed me her gums then!
I'm grateful that we have an excellent transport system that allows me to travel for free in the morning and is usually on time and passes by so many pretty trees that are in blossom at the moment.
I'm grateful that I can catch up on UK telly.
I'm ever so glad it's spring, my favourite season of all , lighter, brighter , possibly drier and not too hot! My favourite time of year for plants and flowers and trees when there's a promise of more to come in the air.
I think most people over here would agree it's been a long, dark and dismal winter and we are looking forward to better things to come.
20 weeks today since re diagnosis ....and you know what ? I just had to go into calendar and count the weeks....I seem to have stopped counting weeks, think that might be a good sign. Still taking a day at a time , still not looking too far ahead, can still be caught unaware with absolute sorrow and know that counselling will not be easy but is necessary . Didn't do it last time and it all caught up with me.
As always...onwards and upwards and two tiny days off0 -
And no longer up the creek near Anderby!
Scoffing rolls on collapsed sofa. Some deserve to do so! Book stash and blackberries! Iron Bridge. Good, proper engineering! Girders! Noted & Passed on, and noted Caste Apartheid in exuberance! Bagpuss. Minds me of Raffles after the rain. Hi I am the cat, shower anyone!
5 Inn with BoPsie again and tickling the feet. Nest is feathered and she is out inn the bright lights this week! So the nest will travel. Note BoP not staying at the hovel from last week either!
4 Suffering from mediocre mid table blues and it is juts into September.
3 T this evening is smoked haddock, non Icelandic and smoked in Grimsby, proper, not dyed gunk from emporium. Turned into a kedgeree, with a dash of limes. Rubs Tum.
2 Morning is back to the mud flats, south of Baldock where the nearest thing to fresh food is a preordained burger, not for BoP! Packed me tangerines and should keep me cosy!
After the victory, came the boot. Big lunch weekend 13th September 2015. Brew up there

Pleasures for today (Tuesday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Mushrooms on toast for my breakfast, fried egg on toast for sons.
3) Smaller son's drone is mended.
4) Went to town for sons' new school bags and to get bigger son's pen knife engraved.
5) Had lunch out.
6) Nice look round Paperchase and got birthday cards for my brother.
7) Quick nip into charity shops and bigger son got a TopMan T shirt for a couple of £.
8) Off to smaller, nearer town for usual barbers and sons had their hair cut.
9) Tasty tea from (adapted) recipe from Sainsburys magazine. Turkey meatballs in hoisin sauce on "special" fried rice).
10) Went swimming with sons and my brother.
Looking forward to tomorrow as sons have requested we go to Nottingham (my old stomping ground). We look round more things in a day there than I did in 5 years! Tomorrow will be the caves (they've not been there before, amazingly) and Anchor Army Surplus. Not sure we'll have time for a bus ride up to the boating lake.0 -

Hi all - am back from the Norf and have just caught up with all your pleasures
MrsLW - lovely news that you will be a Nanna in February next year
Lots of pleasures will try and remember
1. lovely to see DP's
2. did no cooking for 10 days - DM looking after me
3. family christening whilst I was there - great to see family
4. seaside trip to Cleethorpes - lovely walk along the seafront and fish and chips !
5. trip to Burnaby Hall which has a huge lake filled with over 100 varieties of water lily all bursting into flower. Fabulous day and met up with Aunty haven't seen for ages
6. went swimming with DM
7. walks along the river and nature reserve around DP's home village
8. DS passed his interview for job he has applied for. He only has medical, fitness and security vetting to go ! Unfortunately the station he has been assigned to is over an hour away by car but its a step in the right direction on the career path he wants. Was glad to have enough savings to buy him a new suit for the interview - £75 in Next. He was going to go in old (but ok) black trousers and shirt/tie but suit looked great.
9. went to see older sister - we have been estranged for about 5 years (my choice for reasons too complicated to explain) Managed to stay for an hour - good first visit
10. met up with niece and went for carvery
11. went to see old school friend - and we went out to local pub for meal with her family as it was her nan's 93 birthday. Also great news that she is getting married in December (my friend - not her nan !)
12. mums sunday lunch
13. rainy bank holiday Monday - leftover pork and stuffing/apple sauce sarnies and spent the afternoon catching up on family photos
14. DP's wouldn't let me pay for anything whilst I was there apart from fish and chips at seaside and £10 towards indian takeaway at the weekend. They also insisted on giving me £50 towards petrol which I tried to refuse but they wouldn't let me
15. safe drive home. Not a good trip lots of roadworks on M1 and variable speed limits / congestion on M25 but got home safely in 5 hours
16. house in one piece ! DS had done washing and most of washing up / dishwasher done. Fairly tidy too. Not the bombsite of last year - he must be growing up
17. really good sleep - was exhausted last night and didn't sleep well whilst away, but managed 10pm to 6am when DS got up for work which is great sleep for me.
18. still off work till Tuesday :j

BoP is nesting near Baldock with BoPsie. There is a charge at this place if damage is caused by over indulgence.
Tonight. BoP is going to go at it hammer and tongs.

Good evening everyone :hello:
Great to hear everyone's pleasures. I love how our pleasures can be so varied.
Mine for today (and yesterday in parts)
1) 2x NPDs so far this week! Loving this walking to work lark, even if I do have to avoid the showers (didn't take my waterproof today...).
2) Picking up tips for my new tag rugby club at school from the internet.
3) Chicken stir fry for supper. Yum!!!
4) Setting up a Rugby World Cup sweepstake at work. There are various charity ones available online, such as pay half of takings to the charity and half to the winner. Alternatively, there are free ones and half of our takings will be given to the school PTA.
5) Children at school have brought in various artefacts from WW2, making the learning far more interesting - for example ration books for both clothing and food. Explaining how few clothes evacuees took with them etc.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
An exciting day today! (Apologies to those back at school/work - I'm back Friday and sons start next Tuesday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Speedy journey to Nottingham.
3) Straight to the caves for a look around.
4) Bus up to University. Got a boat, pushed off from the side of the lake and it POURED down! Proper stair rods, drips bouncing up from the water and the PSHHHH noise it makes when rain is torrential. No coats or umbrellas so we rowed over and tried to hide under the trees but gave up in the end and just got soaked through!
5) Went back into the centre on the brand new tram. :-)
6) Anchor Army Surplus! This was particularly exciting as we decided to have some "new" clothes to replace our saturated ones. Sifted through the boxes and boxes of army surplus and found 3 t shirts, £2 each. Trousers for smaller son and a sweatshirt. I still can't believe the fit - we have 3 new favourite T shirts and smaller son's army trousers are perfect! (There must be some small, slight men in the army!) We got changed in the changing rooms there and the lady gave us a bag for our wet clothes. Also got new pairs of socks from there so our feet felt a bit dryer, though our trainers were still wet.
7) Back to the station. I am sure taxis used to be able to drive into the forecourt??? But now it is covered with a glass roof and we had our tea at a caf! in there.
8) Decent journey back again on the train. Sons very confused as to why a man spent the whole journey in the toilet. I explained about fare dodging and they were very pleased when the ticket inspector realised and encouraged the man to buy a ticket.
9) Email this evening from a local driving school that does Saturday lessons on an airfield. Looks like sons will be having a lesson this weekend. :-)0
