Well what a yucky old day.
    Let's get some warm pleasures
    1. Nice cup of tea in bed and then a snuggle back down for a couple more hours.
    2. Fun times playing with the dds, dancing on the wii and being silly.
    3. Yummy meatballs with extra garlic and spaghetti, slow cooked all day, totally lish.
    4. Spoke to my newly found aunt and uncle on the phone briefly.
    5. Utter relief at discovering that the washing machine wasn't broken, just needed the pump unblocking. Relief as I already have to call out a repairman for cooker as element has gone again. Thankfully have double oven so can wait until I get paid on Friday.

    wet wet wet sunday....

    1. rain stopped for about 30 minutes just as I drove to pick up new-to-me table/desk for DS - its just what we needed and a quick wipe down and is now in-situ for £15. Young man selling took it apart and loaded it into my car and DS did the same when I got home.

    2. rain lashing down again as DS went off for specials shift - so I spent the afternoon with my feet up watching trashy tv :p

    3. found a chicken kiev lurking at the bottom of my freezer so an easy dinner with tinned sweetcorn

    4. wrote shopping lists ready for supermarket sweep on Monday

    5. recorded new Agatha Christie am looking forward to watching...

Bagpuss do you need to pay someone to replace your cooker element ? When my cooker element went I managed to get a replacement online and watched an online video which showed how to replace - it was fairly easy if a bit fiddly for a 40-something female anyway ;) so you might be able to do it yourself .

MCc glad to hear Dr C is getting settled in his new place.

Hello form Monday evening, a beautiful sun setting right now.

It's stayed dry today but been blooming chilly.
Train to work, free ! I've had the same amount on my travel card for weeks.
Work was fine, not too busy. I had conversations with 4 Scottish people today. :)
OH picked me up and we went for a coffee elsewhere, I had an apple and pistachio cake.
    A bath when I got in .
Finally a M&S delivery , been waiting weeks. Purchase with 20% off and free delivery. Last one came in 4 days.
    Watched casualty.

The final of Oz masterchef tonight and my favourite is still in but I think the other girl will win , both are good.....what will I do of an evening now? ( get a life perhaps)

DD1 is making nachos for dinner.

    Have a lovely day

Oooh thanks skint I never thought of that. I've looked it up and seems simple enough. Element should only cost around £12 when repair person was £48 plus parts:eek:

bagpuss - Once I'd turned the electric off mine was fairly straightforward. The online guide for mine suggested I put pegs on the end of the wires where I disconnected the old element to stop the wires disappearing through the holes in the back of the cooker - best tip ever - fabulous what you can learn on the net ! good luck x

    Pleasures for Monday

    1. non-working day :j

    2. schools out for summer ..... no parents parking in my road to drop off/pick up kids today :p

    3. got most of DS's new diet plan in Ald! - king prawns & corgette pasta. Prawns were cheaper than elsewhere and corgettes were on offer 49p - good job as he will be eating 2 a day - 14 a week

    4. am making satay style chicken for first time for tea, lemongrass, ginger, garlic, lime, coriander peanut butter & coconut milk ... smells divine

    5. met up with friend and we went into town.

    6. Picked up new free glasses - new lenses in distance glasses seem much better now and my other pair are for reading/computer glasses. I have them on at the moment and I can now see the writing on my laptop clearly ...but its very odd that everything around the screen I'm looking at is blurred. Ah well, cant wear varifocals, so will just have to get used to them

    7. friend bought some stuff in Wilko and swapped one of my shopping vouchers for a £10. Much rather have the cash than voucher reward from work :D

    2. Got some good ideas for bits to do in the house/garden -just need to get this blasted debt busted first
    3. DD3 passed her theory test today! a big deal for her as she lacks confidence - just needs to get the other bit done now! but one step closer
    4. Work crazy busy again - but reminded today that I have a great team and we will get there!
    5. Reading books again! Nice to be able to do so without feeling guilty!

  • 1) Loads and I mean LOADS of bumble bees busy collecting pollen/nectar from lavender bushes when we walked this afternoon, I think they are Tree Bumble Bees and we counted at least 100 on one set of bushes, gorgeous!

    2) Sat by the river this afternoon watching a dad and a whole gaggle of youngsters having fun crabbing off the walkway by the public hard, so much laughter, so many smiles.

    3) Watching my neighbours young spaniel crunching his way through some fresh picked runner beans, he came and asked for one so I gave him one which he loved so kept coming back for more bless him.

    4) Packing my suitcase for my few days in Spain as of tomorrow, so looking forward to it.

    5) Skype with DD2 and my grandson this morning and he now gives a very convincing 'RAAAH' when you ask him what noise a dinosaur makes, so cute for an 18 month old cherub!!!

    Mondays pleasures

1 Your lovely pleasures, I do so enjoy hearing about your daily lives, joys and och sometimes pains.
    2. Trip to the park with dds started in rain and ended in sunshine and a hanging upside down competition on monkey bars. No I didn't win and may need physio for the next year to recover:rotfl: must remember my age he he
    3. Sneaky lunch at the yellow M place. Twas nice to listen to all the Chitter chatter of little 'uns. DD3 who is 5 has informed me that on the first day of year one she intends to marry her boyfriend and may even kiss him:o
    4. Yummy chicken sausage pasta if it's dinner. If it's in the cupboard it's in the dinner lol
    5. Unexpected night off due to lack of work, not best pleased as it eats into overtime to make up hours. However I shall endeavour to make to best of it and shall paint my toe nails a nice bright colour. And not open the biscuit tin!
