At high tide, the fish are swimming. At low tide, we should start to make salt.
Back in the mist of SparraShire. One down, three to go. More salt to the needy.0 -
Beautiful day here today sun was shining from the moment it first came into view.
1. Stripped bed and put washing on three loads in total.
2. Walked the dog in the lovely sunshine and had a quick chat over the woods with another dog walker.
3. Came home vacc'ed house all through and re-made bed. Have all the windows in the house open as well as the back door to let the lovely fresh air in - the cat is loving not having to use her flap
4. I had a cappucino and have sat in the garden watching my white sheets drying on the line - they gleam white as well so that has chuffed me to bits.
5.Got a pamper day lined up tomorrow at a local health spa, really looking forward to that as it is a gift, so need to get my toe nails painted and have a general buff up on my feetCat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

Mine for the past couple of days.
1. Working at different site to boss. Line manager had received an email from a colleague about me trying to cause problems. I explained what I had done - the same as I had been doing for the last 6 or so years - and my line manager agreed with me. It's a small matter but may cause trouble with boss if she's been copied into it.
2. Lovely sunrise in the morning - good walk round the garden with a coffee watching it.
3. Good tea of salmon - from freezer with spinach.
4. Spoke wth my DM on the phone.
5. Managing my back pain and have booked a Dr's appointment for Friday to see if I will be referred onto aa consultant.0 -
1. I went to an interview today and honestly it went incredibly well:T:beer:. If they can all be like that from now on I will be happy, however with no feedback yet the job hunt and returning calls continued as soon as I got back in.
2. Didn’t snack when getting back went from the train station went straight to lidl for a little for a lot, and made lunch with the fresh bread and eggs bought from there, also took back a faulty item who’s refund covers the cost of travel today.:o
3. Weather has to have a mention what a glorious day.:):)
4. We did a tip run, the place looks vastly improved for it, and DH got the car through the MOT, but we did have to treat it to 2 new tyres and get the tracking re done before we put it in, basically lots of pennies but DH did it himself so a lot less than other people doing it.:money:
5. Freezer burger with salad and chips tonight.
6. Continued cleaning the van and re loading it.:)0 -
1. Finished all mowing, neighbour and self. Mower did start 1st time:-)
2. Watering in bunny muck+straw around rhubarb. Picked first 2-3dozen stalks and asked widowed neighbour if she wanted some. Shared therefore and &'s is already cooked:-)
3. Slow baking foil-wrapped whole sides of salmon[snap, vl] as we speak, rtc £1.41[90% off] with last of French family's butter, lime juice, new sprouting golden marjoram, parsley and bayleaf. New taties, broc. and green beans avec. Should be ready after this.
4. 2nd test.
5. 5th egg in nest y'day and disturbed her mid-morning today. Long talk with rspb who say 'Life as usual. She may fly off but she will come back. Leave it until end May as she may lay new clutch if 1st lot chill.' Trouble is, she hasn't come back during day.
Thankyou to all who noted my 18/4. vjm - had I advance known it was your OH's birthday, that would have been the discipline I needed to stay silent. Apologies.

Nooooo, don't you dare - or not for that reason anyway.
Another glorious day round these parts - i could get used to this....
I am awaiting my sofa delivery from Ice cream town - we liked it so much we bought two :rotfl: but this is for our "real" house. hope "Frank" hurries up. It is a much needed replacement for our knackered old one that gives us back ache every time we sit on it.
PK - good luck with the interview result
Pleasures for today
1. My dear Bessie on R4
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b05r78dw
i know not everyone is a fan of the 'Batch, but these are delicious
2. More glorious walking - i walk everywhere, our car rarely gets used and in weather like this it is all the more pleasant - and saves a fortune at the gym
3. Using up the odds and s0ds - carrot and squash soup; tomato, pepper and courgette "thing"; some limp broccoli with my fish pie; some apple jollop for porridge; a banana loaf for the hollow legged one.
The fridge is getting empty, but I am trying to make do rather than just keep shopping. It is starting to look a little desperate in the fridge, however.
4. Had my Peer review teaching session - it went well, i think.
5. Anticipated pleasure of sitting on the sofa with my knitting - I am knitting a new kindle cover as the old one got lost in NYC. Again part of the make do rather than buy.
Hey DD you will be jealous - it's time to put the bins out :rotfl:I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Good evening everyone :hello:
ampersand - is it wrong that I was more delighted that I could understand the link than the sentiment portrayed? Patted myself on the back! Ok, so the French was erm, steady but still I understood.
Pleasures for today:
1) NSD :j :j
2) Salad for supper. Yum.
3) Booked for two friends and I to see McBusted in July (again).
4) Have written a plan for this weekend. I've been reading this so DH and I are trying it out! Of course, it's all obvious stuff, but it cements it.
5) Flowers are still looking good in the house. They make the place look lovely!Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Just catching up after a few days of head down studying!!! & hope the 18th was ok - not easy - but ok!
Final assignment went in today - relief but heralds the start of dissertation fever!!!!
So pleasures over the last few days:
1. Sunny days - garden looking ok
2. Managed not to kill all the seedlings in the conservatory - bit need to get them out asap!
3. Loved having my DD1 home for 2 weeks - lots of walks and laughs - sad cos she's gone again but pleasure is in the pride I feel when I look at my clever, sensible and lovely baby making her own way in the world! (1 down 3 to go!!!)
4. Lovely meal out on Sat courtesy of a friend - my small break in study - but worth it!
5. Looking forward to London trip this weekend - last bit of fun before dissertation work takes over my life for a few months! Red letter day dinner booked (courtesy of ex OH) and AirBnB booked0 -
My pleasures for today
1. Cough gone - feeling much better. - thanks Sparrer.
2. Helping a young boy at school avoid a total meltdown by noticing his facial expression and giving him some timeout and trying to get him to look at the positives.
3. Lovely sunshine.
4. Completing some college work instead of putting it off again.
5. Chatting to my family over dinner/tea.
6. Hearing my mum sounding positive as she lost my stepdad just over a month ago.0 -
Pleasures for today:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) A lovely, sunny day.
3) Not a pleasure but quite funny.... where I work used to have 2 parallel corridors, linking the arts end of the school with the science and maths end. After I left, one was bricked up to form another row of meeting rooms.... It took some explaining to a student today when I bounded out of geography and for no apparent reason walked past the stairwell then came to an abrupt stop against a brick wall!!
Also made my young man laugh in geography by "singing" what I was writing down. It seems when the teacher says "deltas" and "U shaped valley", I write it down whilst saying "Deeeeeeltasssss" and "U shaped VALLLLLEEEEEEE" :-D
4) Had to take a small class this afternoon and we all survived.
5) Went to see my school friend after work and bought myself a pot of tea and a piece of tiffin while I waited for her. I ate the cake immediately (obviously). Then she arrived and came out with a tray with her drink and her children's drinks and foods - and a nice piece of tiffin she had chosen for me as a new job celebration! I didn't say anything but managed it too!
6) Sons had good days at school.
7) Watched Holby City.0
