Good evening everyone :hello:
Been away for the last week and a bit, but back today.
Firstly a massive THANK YOU for all the best wishes for my Grandma. To bring you up to speed, the doctor had thought that a week last Wednesday was to be her last. My father got the vicar, who is the main chap for the group of churches and cunningly lives opposite from the care home, to come to Grandma... Needless to say, by the time I saw her on Friday she was sitting up and had fish & chips for lunch. She's still not able to recognise me, but she does still recognise my dad. Apparently on Easter Sunday she even enjoyed a (very) weak bitter shandy! We're just grateful that we're able to spend a little more time with her.
Pleasures for the past week:
1) Grandma is still with us & I have lovely family.
2) Lovely time away with DH.
3) More stuff sold on eBay! :j :j
4) Another payment pending from TopCashback - duly popped into the coffers.
5) Planning done.
6) Cake baked for tomorrow night's meeting of the cake club. This month's theme is Mary Berry v Delia Smith - I've been given Mary Berry, so I've made her Courgette Loaf. Nice and easy!

2) left mum in cafe having free cup of coffee courtesy of being a member (costs £12 per annum, get 10% off plants and seed and 2 free tea / coffee per month for whole year), managed to fit all three boxes in volvo (just after a few rounds of tetris!) home, unpacked and dropped boxes off at dump on way back
3) free tea for us, another free coffee for mum (we're both members), mum bought plants and we admired the owls in for a display
4) home for lunch and yes i did eat outside sitting on my new bench
5) when sun went behind huge cloud walked dogs up balgay. got caught in a hail storm, sheltered under a tree, then home by which time back to glorious sunshine. so more sitting on my bench (back garden enjoys the sun in the morning, front garden afternoon /evening)

4. Doing some crochet on my never ending blanket.
5. Listed some items on eBay.0 -
Busy few days so have been AWOL - lovely catching up with everyone's pleasures tonight!
Mine for last few days:
1. younger kids have been playing out a lot - a pleasure as DS is normally glues to electronic devices of some description - he even managed to go on a train with his mates to a near by town with a skate park without any fights, tantrums and broken bits! he even remembered to message me every2 hrs to let me know he was safe!! Happy mum - maybe we are getting there! (not counting my chickens though!)
2. DD1 offered to go shopping for me yesterday (with my money of course) I did a list - she didn't quite stick to it but not too bad!! and it saved me a job!
3. Someone came to look at DD3's trampoline - took it for £40 ( I think I paid about £80 2 years ago) they came back today to dismantle and of course it was pouring and blowing a gale but we managed and it has gone! Only to be replaced by the Rabbit hutch I bought on Thursday so the bunny girls can go outside and I can get the family room reclaimed!
4. Went to a friends to watch the National (didn't win!) but a pleasant few hours with a pimms! Summer is here! (although you could have fooled me today!)
5. DD1 cleaned the bathroom today without being asked and DD3 and DS cleaned their bedrooms (sort of!) so I could vacuum upstairs - I needed to clean house so I can focus for a few weeks on my assignment and dissertation (its psychological but I can't concentrate if the house is a mess!)
Sadly back to work tomorrow - I have had a lovely week off. I haven't done everything I had planned to do but it will wait I'm sure! A busy few weeks ahead in work and with studying so glad I actually feel like I have recharged my batteries!0 -
1. Freshly decorated front room.
2. Bogof on the paint so saved some pennies.
3. All bills paid and money still left in account :T
4. Hot bath to soothe aging but not quite ancient bones!
5. Babies home from camp, filthy and smelling like campfire but a healthy outdoor glowand tales of marshmallows and wink murder!
SIMPLY BE-££577.11:eek:
Very BNPL - £353.000 -
It's been a few days. Shenanigans with new phone meant rtn to MrT y'day for mgr M who'd set it up. PAYG credit reinstated, but still lost in ether. Will rtn en rte to debadgering. & onerously re-listed no's 1 by 1. No Migrate/Import option regrettably, finished after 0100h....then found no credit tfr'd.
On verra.
1. Little Church full yesterday. Outside, multi-shades of violets and masses of other ancient shy flowers all out and scenting air. Pleased that someone felt they could ring for transport.
2. Saturday rugby - another curdling loss a.k.a our usual extreme politesse to visiting teams:-) [See you had one also Vicky.] New Coach incoming to rtn team to Nat League 2 Sth, hopefully. Wimmins have won theirs! Handed over rather good little enamelled dish with Club bird well-painted. 2nd thing I've found now. Cathartic shouting is excellent. Reverbe'd abandoned The Times. Big screen Grand National and double loss Boat Races all bemoaned in hectic Club atmosphere - great all the same. Another year....all the way round.
3. W8r0s outpost takeaway cappuccino, free that way, and 450gm Rachel's organic peach/passionfruit yogurt rtc 25p from £1.85 was nice find.
4. Nine guinea fowl sighted during strange walk. Started sunny blue, then watched huge dirty smoke chimney funnelling at top speed from West. Cold, hail, violent winds, then rain. Back in car felt good. Watched it all - sky theatre over Fens, with...
5. Richard Coles 'Fathomless Riches' - picked up from Library Reservations on Saturday. Excellent online service:-) Stunning so far and out-loud laughter on bus, all before page 14. Will have to buy it, several times. Beautifully written Amazon review by Horatio Clare is unexpected bonus.
6. Neighbour's puppies are g-r-o-w-i-n-g! and having little bits of outdoors. Weaning begun. Husky coats. Just heard a far squeal.
'Nother sack of neighbour's bunny poo/straw to cast about, things to do, person to check, canvassing/volunteering after debadgering. Tootsies were tender after Friday.
#
Frith, we await 1st day Diary:-) You'll be brilliant - you've been doing it all with sons!
Vicky - Gran enjoying f+c and Easter is marvellous, a lasting memory for you.
dfv - thinking of you all.
judi - your good week has been good in all the best ways:-)
Up, Up and Awa-a-ay....the wind may take me. Oh, annoyance - driver's door not undoing from inside. Started yesterday. Have to let window down and undo door from outside. Haynes beckons. There's always something. Forearm still mis-shapen but less black and lumpy.

Hello hello!
Almost bedtime again, I set the alarm to go off an extra half hour early this morning, so 5am instead of 5.30am. A productive extra half an hour!
Chat with friend from home .
Train into work.
Not a bad day at work.
Train home ( some idiot had left their chewing gum on the seat which I unknowningly sat on! Yuk! Not impressed! Jeans are in the freezer! )
Beautiful sunny afternoon , quickly followed by a very cool evening as soon as sun went down.
UK mags purchased ...to be perused soon.
DD2 back to school today along with her crutches, so back to having to drive all 90 seconds to school to collect. It's blooming murder trying to get a parking space. She got an A for maths for the first time ever. Well worth the enormous cheque I handed in for this terms school fees today.
Watched Poldark...then dozed off, so watched it again!
Mince and tattles for tea! Lovely!
Have a good start to the week!0 -
Thanks, Ampersand.
Pleasures for yesterday and today (so far).
Yesterday
1) A lie in!
2) A sneaky McDs for lunch.
3) Off to nearish NT place. Played a bit of football and went on the big play area for teens/adults until it was shut due to high winds!
4) Cheating take away Chinese meal deal thingy for tea.
5) Watched Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
6) Smaller son had some weird facebook messages from ex MrB's son (not heard from him since he Sept 2012 when he didn't turn up one day - nothing since!) So contacted MrB to let him now (they were VERY odd messages) and had an online chat with him.
Today
1) Good to get up after an appalling sleep. I know I was awake til gone 5 then was woken by bigger son having a shower at 6.50 :-/
2) Breakfast and off to school for sons went smoothly.
3) New job! No one seemed to know I was going today so I shadowed someone for a bit then they had something urgent to do so I was in at the deep end! By chance, the lesson where I was on my own was given by a chap who taught me! He looked 50 in 1986 and is in fact just over 50 now.
4) Good to be back home and I've had a jolly good rap on the window already to clear next door's sons from the garden then a storm outside to clear them out again after they'd thrown a metal car at my window.
5) Police check has come through OK.
6) Early night tonight!0
